  • @contron Both are same signing..

  • Thank you for putting this up!! Sometimes it's a little hard to understand what your saying but I see the spelled out word and then I find out what your saying and thank you so much for putting this up!!!!!!!!

  • hi Ashley,

thanx for doing this so we can understand sign language. as for

fancygirl229, thats just an ignorant person, ignore them.

just as it's hard for a deaf person to understand a hearing person,

a normal hearing person has some trouble understanding a deaf

    person.

u r doing GREAT!!! and i love ur lessons. and u have a great

    speech too, beautiful voice. ;-)

  • oh can u also make a video of how to introduce your self in sign language please

It would be a lot of help :)

    ~dreams failed~

  • @enolove1 LOL!

  • @AshleyMichele07 lol i was super sad xD.

  • I think you are doing a great I'm sure that what I have learned from you I would be confident in speaking sign language to a hearing impaired person, but how do you do sign for the names of resturants and sodas

  • How do you sign: unicorn, pretty, turtle, confetti, and cheese burger and does each persons name have a specific sign?? Thanks!!

  • @dezeray121 I will working on that soon. The part 7 will be learning States & Country.

  • @dezeray121 In a Deaf community, you must EARN a name sign by socializing with the Deaf. The more you sign with Deaf people, the quicker you learn the language, and the faster you can earn the name. It's how it works in a Deaf community. :)

  • hi my name is Mary would you help me learn some words

  • hi miss i wana english please concat me it`s my i d salman.baloch26@yahoo.com

  • Words i would like to learn:

so, much, life, to, would, word, learn, have, if, or, agree, with, shure, just, wondering, story, about, say, all, simple, commen, american, practice, phrase, long, time, seem, video, hurt, great, understand, think, know, really, been, wait, mad, animals, awesome, we, music, a lot, and differant.

  • @21biteme21 You can check out a website called Signing Savvy or ASL pro. They have an entire dictionary

  • Ashley, are you teaching us PSE or SEE? which on from your experience is more common in the deaf community?

  • @gabbsters94 This is for teaching English language. :)

  • Thank you :D I've been wanting to learn sign language for a long time and this is really simple, easy to understand :P I was a little overwhelmed at first because it seemed like a new language :P

  • can u teach how to sign all the animals?

  • Ohkay so your teaching english in sign language not asl???? Sooooooo, what's the difference?????

  • Oh Ashley - I am a professional culturally Deaf American Sign Language (ASL) instructor. It saddens me to see that you're teaching Signed Exact English, which has never been proven to be a language. It is all broken up into exact signs copying the English language. You need to realize that ASL has been researched since 1960s and proven to be a language in early 1980s. Google up William Stokoe, Father of ASL linguistics. No offense, but... please stop here and learn ASL... you'd be happy you did.

  • @MsSlyvester69 Thanks for comment here I'm not interesting in ASL. But I've know english so long since I've learn when I was 7. All my interpreters and I never used ASL. We always commuatie with English.

  • @MsSlyvester69 i think she is doing a great job! she is teaching us what she knows! and it seems to be working pretty well for her. keep teaching us Ashley!

  • @MsSlyvester69 I am with Ashley 100% on this. I, and everyone I know, would rather learn signed english and not ASL. Its a bit much to ask someone that is deaf for most of their life, and has been using signed english for most of their life, to just suddenly change the way they talk.. Let her do what she does best ^_^ You can still understand her, right?

  • @MsSlyvester69 I agree with you. the concept of ASL is so much easier and straight to the point. I'm newer to signing and currently only really use it with a deaf woman that I work with whom used to teach ASL at a collage and is helping me learn. Its so much more visually stimulating, fun to learn and the flexibility of the word structure is very convenient. Who needs words like 'it is / are / was' when you can visually demonstrate possession and tense.

  • @MsSlyvester69 Excuse me. SEE IS a language. It uses some of the ASL words and has some of its own words that follows the english sentence structure. If people are using SEE, then it is practically a language.

Also, do not tell someone what to do. Don't shove ASL into Ashley's face. You are just making ASL look/sound as bad like how hearing people try to shove English/PSE/SEE into the Deaf's faces. It's unfortunate that you are a very biased instructor.

  • @BBBMost Thank you for explain for this. :)

  • @AshleyMichele07 No problem! :)

  • Ashley I love you videos a lot. They've helped me learn a lot. Me and my twin sister are both trying to learn sign language and we were playing the quiet game in the store and sign languaging to each other. Sometimes i wish I was deaf so you dont have to listen to people yell at you :) Keep up the good work!

  • it would be so cool if you could do phrases!!(:

  • Forgetting how to spell "math", trying not to burp outloud, and falling on ur butt @ 4:24! I had to pause the video because I was laughing so hard. I can relate sooo much to you. This is real and not some studio garbage. I love it. Please don't change Ashley. I'm really learning fast. Spelling out the words helps very much to remember my letters.

  • @wjbay1125 haha omg that was funny part when I almost fall. I didnt see that chair has been turned. After falling on my butt. My mind was like "okay look at the camera wow that was embrassing (sp?) me." lol Thanks for good laugh. haha

i'm trying to learn sign language, and your video's really helped me start off with some of the basics. anyways, i am really looking forward to part 7, and also, i was kind of wondering if you could so the signs for words like: "he, she, they, were, is, not, would, could, should..." etc. (just so i can start forming some better sentences (lol) - short as they may be :)

    anyways, thanks again! :D

  • Thank you sooo much for posting all of your videos, I am learning for my step dad, he is an amazing man and sometimes struggles reading lips and interperating what people are trying to say, so again thank you sooo much for your work and effort, this means the world to both of us.

  • If you're still making these videos, you should do some common phrases. I can't seem to find much quality videos with phrases and not just words. Thank you so much!

  • Oh my gosh! Paper and School are the same.. no? Geez, does it ever get confusing (even for you).. I mean how would you know if someone is talking about their paper or their school? Thanks for posting Ashley, I just subscribed today!

  • @kevico2 well if you clap your hand "Paper" 2 times and School 1 times. No it doesnt confused me. I read their lip & hearing their voice. & No Problem.

  • thank you for posting how to learn sign language videos they're very helpful :) and i was wondering how do you sign will? because i think it would be cool to do the song will I from rent in sign language ^_^

  • Hello Ashley

I have been really working hard at wanting to learn Sign Language especially when I am singing at my church! You are very good. LOVE your videos...very inspirational! I would love it, if you could actually show the word you are either spelling or saying since I am having a difficult time understanding what you are saying. I am a little slow so by the time you have spelled the word and said it...I've missed it! Any way to show the words while you are also signing?

  • Hi i just wanted to say how stunning you are :) i also would like to ask if terms of endearment are different then the original signs i.e. If i call my gf baby would it be the same? Thanks for all your help :)

  • Do you sign "history" the same as Hard of Hearing?

  • @Frubahboi yeah. it just same like signing for Social Study with S.

  • @AshleyMichele07 Oh, okay. I didn't know that.

  • @Frubahboi yeah. My interpreter show me that signed.

  • How do you say learning??

  • thx u so much :)

  • Its great to have examples of these words, thanks! I'd also like to see some basic conversational examples. Like how to say, "Hello, it's good to see you."; "See you again soon." - And what might to expect in response. Thanks again! Keep up the great videos!

  • I enjoy learning sign language...I absolutely find it fascinating because where I work at, some people are non-verbal, but they sign what they need...

I appreciate you posting these videos...I even bought myself flash cards so that I can practice in between...I am much appreciated for you!!! :-)

  • @SylentMynd Thanks. :)

  • WOW ! I learnt SOOOO Much from this video- thanks thanks thanks !!

Could you show me how you sign- " I want you back" and "hard to take"and "take my time" and "hold your breath" and "time will tell". ? Just whenever you're ready- no rush.

Also could you explain to me the meaning behind the sign for "New York". Thanks again :))

  • I'm very glad to see another one of your videos, I save them for reference also and I look forward to your next one! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these!

  • i love this! your actually really good at speaking! great job! you inspire me :)

  • Is there a sign for Canada?

  • @iluvjoejonas1308 yes it was.

  • @AshleyMichele07 Can you show that on your next video?

  • Thanks so much Ashley! I love your videos as always. It's interesting how different from one place to another here in the states you can find different signs for different words. Thanks again!
