The majority of Americans, and the World, does not want the Freedom Tower. They want the Twin Towers. Yet, we're getting the Freedom Towers.
I really want to find out why the gov't is going against public opinion with this. I mean, come on. Let's face it. Two 110-story towers is a much more "efficient" use of prime real estate than two pits and a 105-story tower. They're literally wasting money with the project, and yet, they're still going forward. WHY!

I remember getting ready to go to school early in the morning that day when my mother turned on the television and told us that the twin towers were on fire. I remember getting breakfast at that moment when I asked my younger sister what happened and she said that the twin towers were burning. why didn't they make it stronger after the first trade center disaster back in 1993. Close it down for a couple years and strenthen the whole outer part with a foot or more of tough steel. They didn't need to open it so fast. They should have predicted this and at least strengthened the interior and exterior of the building no matter what the stupid cost of it would have been.

The Freedom Tower complex's towers 2 and 3 are being put of indefinately, so if tower 4 and the FT get built it will be like Mutt & Jeff structures on the skyline where the Twin Towers used to be. The Freedom tower also takes away from the site's uniqueness by having part of the pre-WTC street grid on it.

I heard they aren't going to add a restaurant like 1 WTC had either, and it's not going to have a rooftop observation deck like 2 WTC had, so what the heck are they putting there? I hate the twin towers didn't get rebuilt. Or, at least, replace the twin towers with a set of twin towers of a different design. Hell, I would've settled for two towers based on the new design for One World Trade. But one tower doesn't anchor the skyline enough. TWIN TOWERS WHOULD BE REPLACED WITH TWIN TOWERS!!!

I remember getting ready to go to school early in the morning that day when my mother turned on the television and told us that the twin towers were on fire. I remember getting breakfast at that moment when I asked my younger sister what happened and she said that the twin towers were burning. I remember seeing people jumping from the windows and seeing the north tower collapse.

From the documentaries when the towers were first hit the elevators plumited 100ft. So emergency elevators not the best idea. secially during a fire.

I know my nephew will ask me what happened that day, and I'll tell him two really tall skyscrapers used to be there. Rebuilding the towers exactly as they were would probably be an insult. That's just my opinion.

why didn't they make it stronger after the first trade center disaster back in 1993. Close it down for a couple years and strenthen the whole outer part with a foot or more of tough steel. They didn't need to open it so fast. They should have predicted this and at least strengthened the interior and exterior of the building no matter what the stupid cost of it would have been.

@ColoradoKing26 right man i understand what you mean and i was just in Nyc in october of 2010 and i was near where the towers were and it continued to play back in fourth in my head..I heard their were drills going on and what not after the bombing of the towers in 93,i believe we need to upgrade our way of getting out of buildings quicker if people are going to be up there,and that'll be everyone gets trained on how to use a parachute.i know it sounds crazy,but anything would help

I also say they should monitor flights more, and if a plane was to go off radar they should evacuate immediately. I know it sounds ridiculous but these are people lives we are talking about. I understand how they want to stand up for themselves, but this is a big risk.

The Freedom Tower complex's towers 2 and 3 are being put of indefinately, so if tower 4 and the FT get built it will be like Mutt & Jeff structures on the skyline where the Twin Towers used to be. The Freedom tower also takes away from the site's uniqueness by having part of the pre-WTC street grid on it.

Rebuild the towers, only add automated anti-aircraft weaponry every 25 floors on each corner of the new buildings to add 360 degree coverage against future attack.
