Wow I could put a wind turbine together using toilet seats and some Jack Wagon would be threatening to sue me just like CM Energies (you sir are an idiot). I like what you are doing and I am sorry that there are so many lug-heads out there with nothing better to do than to knock peoples ideas around or threaten a lawsuit. Keep up the good work. Good day
I suppose the "out of the box" part is the slotted nature of the blades... what type of efficiency or improvement does this offer over a regular helix blade (made of a continuous fabric or metallic surface) ?
@TyPower2 Then again the Archimedes screw IS a helix. As U indicated the proof of success is producing electrical power. Good luck with the remainder of the project.
I think I finally have educated acknowledgement that my design holds water. You know my friends and acquaintaces have known for years about my wind mill design but to this day they don't know the science even though some should know the science. Now that I have the recognition I saught and after I broadcast my last video I will show the world the next generation VAWT Power2.
This email is to inform you that your VAWT design has already been examined a patent filed for. Should you continue to pursue this design or the wind turbine application under this design, our attorneys will be happy to discuss infringement with you.
The generator that I will be using is an Air-X 400 watt HAWT. Remember that the wind turbine industry will lead individuals to believe that efficiency is in blade design. NOT TRUE. The design intentions of the generator will determine is electrical output efficiency + the blade. Blades are only part of the equation. Example: A generator can be designed for 7-22mph. So what if the blades are 100% effiecient. You will only generate in that window. What happens after that? Thanks for you interest.
I only have to drill the holes for mounting the Air-X generator to its bracket. I will try tomorrow to weld the bracket componets together then connect the electrical will be some time in the near future. Thanks for the comment.
I design for many industries. Yes for now it is just something spinning in the wind. The economy has caused me to prolong attaching a generator that I purchased (Air-x). Wait, it's coming. Unfortunatly, seeing is believing. When the proof is available I will find a vendor that will build an OEM generator with my specifications and I will sell Vawt Power as a variety of kits for various applications.
Please visit the video "Ike Vawt Power" for some of an explanation. I would like to sell the drawings but I am not yet ready for more than one reason and the world economy. I will add from the other video that each segment contains 3 blades spaced apart for reason and each blade has a slight curve and is angled into the next. Each segment of 3 blades is twisted around a common shaft of 120 degrees. Hope this helps and thank you.
I need to dril and fasten the bracket that will hold the Air-X generator onto my blades. Do some electrical and will exihibit how Vawt Power is greater in efficiency.
I have designed a rigid coupling to connect the Air-X to my blades. I have found the angle of the Air-x housing to shaft (5 degrees) and I will be making a mounting bracket. Through the process I realized that I do not need the extra blade support located at the bottom. The design will be simple and sound.
Just set up Air-X on goal post 15 ft with 22+ winds. 1 minute I realized how much a HAWT is inefficent. 9-22mph probably better than VAWT Power. Vawt Power 5 to approximate 35mph when comparing rpms. That is how you compare efficiency. Air -X spends more time breaking at around 22 mph when it should be at 100% effiicent. VAWT Power utilizes a wider wind velocity spectrum and turns more consistant. I have just started comparing more research between the two. Thanks and want to see yours.
I just received my Air-X generator yesterday afternoon. I will allow enough time for break-in and then compare so I don't know how long but a minimum of 60-100 hours as required from SunForce.
Also won't kill birds.

WORLD RECORD: BIGGEST WIND TURBINE
Visit: windturbinecarriedbywheels.weebly.com
ZERO-NOISE from gears and generators since they're sealed underground.
SAVES THE BIRDS AND BATS since the turbines are slow-moving.
DOES NOT NEED TO OCCUPY A WIDER LANDSCAPE since the turbine can be very tall.
MAY BE LOWER-COST since it can use parts of junked trucks and others.
ELUDES HURRICANE FORCE since the blades automatically close.
HELPS THE WIND ENERGY COMPANIES since it is FREE FOR ALL.

very nice design, there is never a moment when its not catching wind.

I really liked your design, have you tried to close the gap between each propeller?
Just an idea!!! Great video.

I don't see any generator attached. How much torque is being produced?

what is the average wind speed?
scottolan 2 years ago
5 mph was the average but hard to pinpoint because the wind was erratic.
TyPower2 2 years ago
Sorry if I'm not getting the idea very quickly... Is it working as a Windmill? Are you controlling the spin-speed? How much power does it give?
juankFTW 2 years ago
Is there any data now?
Compared to any other VAWT? Material usage and power output?
You can messure the efficency without a generator. Just messure the force and rpm for the design.

Guess your not open to a high brow discussion on the performance of this. Pretty smart..

why be so scarcastic..what is the reason?
support people in their endeavors and wind and solar power can thrive.
I see no place here for ignorant , adolescent comments.
there. is that high brow enough for you?

Bullshit..
You fucked up and you can't admit it.
that is the textbook def. of loser.
Try apologizing to the turbine maker.
ANd if you're so knowledgeable..why not be nice to someone
trying.
I don't think you know shit, actually.

Hi Ty
i'll give you a free tip
youre idee is not bad, but.....you have too much counterpresure due to the vacuum between the wings.
Think about adding some "Darrieus" by changing the horizontal angles of the wings(take a look at my videos,it can help you)
keep on the good work
