i gave a dollar to a performance artist on the street yesterday. He was doing a piece called 40-ouncer and for each dollar donated, you could have your name mentioned as he did a shot. I mentioned he should get a job but he told me that would take away from his art....oh well....bottoms up.

And to the subject that this is a ripoff of "milliondollarhomepage" I don't think it's anything alike, the other guy sold pixels for people to put there images on. he didn't create shit. Sure it was an interesting idea but thats about it. Nicolea has created the First ever interactive painting. where people buy suqares on canvas and pick there own colors. The whole idea is for the painting to come together with the input from thousands of people.

The fact that nicolea has the guts to stand up in front of the camera and on his Live feed and paint for everyone, even the assholes who make stupid comments. well that says something right there. This guy is Living his Dream, and painting. And all he wants is to share his art and the experiance with others. why is that so hard to understand? I say good on him. And It's not free money either, when you have to pour your heart and soul into the canvas your earning any money you take in.

You're problem is that no one wants to pay for what you make, and you refuse to get a job. I really feel for you. I mean, how could you be an artist if you had another job? That would just make you A REGULAR PERSON, and you are better than us. You deserve free money, because no one wants to pay for your art. Think about it.

This is stupid! Artists cant have other jobs? Davinci invented things and was also a philospher. ALSO why not try spelling things right. canvcas? And that isntg exactly true that no one is buying the form of art. Its just that we have become more and more modernized in art and you should progress with everyone else. Im not saying to stop painting, but try something more experimental.

Just because an artists decides to take up a job for money in order to feed his family/provide for them does not mean he isn't an artist, you don't have to "Struggle" to be an artist. Being an artist is something you feel, it's a part of you that craves to express yourself, rather it be through painting, music, film, or other art outlets.

of course he's not an artist then, but what if he already is an artist like Nicolai, but has no means to make his art a possibility?

I can guarrantee you, 100% he had to even borrow all the funds required to get this project rolling.
