  • it sounds a lot like the studio version

  • @TheVinylBird Actually, this IS the studio version but with overdubbed audience noises.

  • It was fairly common in the 1960s to take studio tracks, add audience noises and then try to pawn them off as "live." For example, the "Magic Bus: the Who on tour" from 1968 has no live tracks on it at all, and they don't even go to the trouble of overdubbing crowd ambience. Record companies generally felt rock n' roll fans were dumb, and wouldn't notice.

  • @raunchboy Also, in 1968 there was a so-called "live" Tiny Tim album released without his permission. In fact, they added so much live audience to the studio recording that it sounds like that the audience was on drugs!

  • @OldMusicOnVinyl1 who's to say they weren't... LOL

  • Whenever i hear this i think its Green onions !

  • @tssss900 Both this and "Green Onions" were released in 1963 (I think), so that must explain your confusion.

  • This is interesting. It is indeed the studio track, but the vocals are actually more clear in this mix. Nice find.

  • Wow! Their first studio album. Every other song they recorded is obscure and "Louie Louie" remains in the 'show'.

  • @SlimeTron5000 OMG. Totally OMG.

  • This does not sound 'live'. This sounds like the studio version overdubbed with audience noises.

  • @TheSlimeWorkShop Hmm, interesting. The album title mentions that they're "In Person".

  • @TheSlimeWorkShop BTW I have to do more research on that. Thanks for the comment.
