I gotta say I don't know why people are saying the song and video don't go well together. Saying things like they guy/chick didn't et the feel of either of them. I"m pretty sure it has to be the other way around. I mean they DID put them together, there was OBVIOUSLY a connection and feel that was trying to be implied here. Just because it doesn't match YOUR pace doesn't mean it isn't a great pace of its own. And thus it isn't that they didn't get the pieces. It's that YOU didn't get his/hers.
Ah but mines is a 10 hole diatonic if im not mistaken. and reviewers say its good for blues so i figure why not, as for Eb part idk, i guess if it is possible to play this on C i will def learn it thas for sure
not nots, scales. blues use mostly the pentatonic scale, and of course if you have a chromatic harp you can play pentatonic on it. but the diatonic harps(AKA blues harps) are build especially for blues, and they have a different sound then the chromatic witch is mostly build for jazz, its like playing jazz on a metal guitar, its just wont sound right.
To shift the pitch up by a semitone. I think you missunderstand what a blue note is my friend. A blue note is a note played on an instrument capable of bending certain notes up or down e.g. guitar, diatonic harmonica, human voice or fiddle. They are not found on a piano nor on a chromatic harmonica really (although it does have a limited bending capability) an example of this would be the blue third- which is between a major and minor third (you can hear an example of it at (0:55)
thank you for your information. its very valuable to me. I play diatonic. chrom is too expensive. Diatonic is more expressive. diggin' my potatoes sounds very nice. and yes will try to play it.
Wow, me too. n.n This piece was from Sympathy for the Devil if I'm not mistaken. One of my favorite episodes. But Balled of Fallen Angels was my favorite.
the best song

It's an Eb ten hole Diatonic people. Tabs are easily found. Probably the most influential piece of harp playing in the last decade.

Haha same here man. I just ordered me a Honer special 20 in key of C today. Cant wait to get it and jam to this song.
Migeru87 4 years ago
there is two problems...
1)Only 10 hole diatonic harps produce blues sounds and are the best.
2)this song is in Eb, its going to be really hard for you to play it.
