hey i just wanna ask...what if the types on the right arm are "WAYFARER Hand Made In Italy B CE" ? In your rayban is K CE....so is my mine original?

So it's a myth that the cardboard box for the Wayfarer needs to have a recycle tag on it to be real? Everywhere I've been looking says it needs to have one, but a pair I just ordered off Amazon has no recycling logo anywhere on the box.

So are the boxes WITH recycle tags fake or is it not an accurate indicator?

Your pair of ray ban are fake. You make a movie showing a fake ray ban. You have only see at "RB" in the left lens, is a láser engraving, but is not the original "RB" because the ""R" should not be closed, and the same for de "B"... So i recommend that the most important to check if a pair of Ray Ban is original still reminds the láser engraving. The new fakes alreafy come with laser engraving...

RB2132 does not have metal bar in arm. I have verified at Sunglass Hut, check yourself other indicators in video are good. I have 40 pairs I'm selling on eBay for a highly respectable large corporate client, and I'm a highly legit Powerseller, I think I'm selling them below cost, but I have no idea what the wholesale cost is, I'm not giving them away, but you can't always say that if it's below a certain cost they aren't real (not sure if you said that in this video, but others have..

hey i found out another way to find the metal rods in the thing rather than looking through it with the sun :)

when you fold up your wayfarers there is a gap between the frames and the thingies that go on your ear (lol fail) and there you can see the metal rod in between :) just thought i'd let you know :D

As an optician 4 over 25 yrs I have to say Nice Video! I see a tons bogus info...your vid is good. BUT there are plenty of good ebay sellers - honest ones selling authentic RBs at little profit. ebay is competitive. The only way to sell is with very little markup. They make about $10 profit, that's all. Now, if you see ebay RB's for less than $95 it's counterfeit. You can't sell RB 2140 for less and make a profit. And a 99% feedback by ebay standards - is TERRIBLE. Look for 99.5% or higher.

Nice to hear you like it. eBay is a jungle of fake and genuine products, that's why i suggest that people buy from an official optician or so, so that they are sure not to be scammed. But good point about the pricing ! Of course the honest ones can sell them cheaper when not having to pay rent for a shop etc. but you have to watch out on eBay :-)

@aaaa4253 there can be other letters besides "K" specifically. "L" is i legit letter to be on there but they can still be fake.

If you have a camera that picks up Infer red and you shine an infer red light at it in the dark while filming it, it comes up like an x-ray and you can't see the plastic at all. It looks pretty badass ;)

hey dude...i know another way to look for that metal bar...you can see it if you look by the hinges. if you look at the arms @ the hinges, you can see a little metal sticking out that is embedded through the center of the bar. but really good call on that though...i think its what gives them more weight.

I just got a pair from pearl visions. Whats with people saying if it says made in italy on the side of the case then they are fake? I'm confused cuz mine are legit but the case is the smooth leather and has rayban on the button but says made in italy stamped on the side of the case. Why would made in italy mean fake?

ha ha are you having a laugh? Where's the science behind this? How can you film through black acetate and then be able to have xray vision and see through the other arm?

You can do it with your eyes also, the result is the same.. But i found out that a small camera(like a phone camera) gave a better result, and at the same time, being able to record it and put it on youtube.

Hold your genuine wayfarer 2140 901 up infront if the sun, and you will se a shade if red/purple in the plastic. It shouldn't be solid black plastic :-)

and i guess the science in this, is that if you hold op a colored filter in front of a camera, the camera will not be able to detect the stuff with the same color as the filter, that's why it's possible to see through one arm (the filter) and see what's in side the other arm :)

@Markus3400 I haven't got a clue about cameras and filters ,i understand now more. Looked like u had some mad camera xray vision. Does it have to be a expensive camera?

Another way to see the metal rod is to close the arm slightly and look down from the hinge and you can see it running through the centre. It should be there sausaged between the acetate in the arm.

I got a pair for Christmas and i noticed the metal rod light trick out of the corner of my eye when wearing them.  I was begining to think mine were fake because the RB is on the inside of the lense. You are the first person to specify properly where it is positioned. Thanks for the video :)

I am not sure if the ones i got were authentic because its from ebay... have not got them yet but the guy's user name is stargroups and he has nearly 16000 in sales and 99% positive feedback. If you could let me know that would be great! Awesome vid btw.

i don't trust ebay dealers selling products at a price that is way under the retail price.

One option is that they buy a thousand at a time and save some % on that.

The other option is they buy them from the factory illegally and save money on that.

The third is that it's fakes.

wayfarers go for around 180 - 210 $ a pair in stores and official online stores. I don't know the buyers price, but it cant be below 110 $ a pair. So a real pair for 98 $?.. doens't seem right to me

I bought a genuine pair of polarized 2140s online recently and the best price I could find was $120 for a pair that was guaranteed to be genuine. I didn't take the ebay gamble for that purchase. BUT I did see a real pair of non polarized 2140s on Amazon recently for $98. It has to be the quantity theory.

nice video...never knew about the metal rod on the plastic...seems like a REALLY good way to tell because im sure that the fakes do not have it in the middle...hey man, you can make your video a video response to mine if you want to increase your views & i will definitely approve it...seems like a better method to me.
