how did you emulate the sync pulse on the emx? (also great by the way)
I tried it with a rimshot and a pulse wave on 1/8 and 1/4 notes sending it to an individual out. it syncs but I would prefer a tighter sync. (1/4 notes with rimshot and pan to the left actualy works pretty good)
Korg USA could you please share what settings you have used on the EMX?
is there a way in using a boss DR880 aux out to sync the monotribe, by sending a bass drum sound directly to the monotribes sync-in? Then i would have a real easy way to sync my setup without recording the Pulse everytime.
is there an easy way to sync it to a kickdrum in live? should i send the pulse to love or send the kick from live into the monotribe? can someone please help me im soooooo frustrated and theres nothin online that shows exactly how its done :)
So...If I did understand: I can connect the monotribe to my mac through my Logic Pro or Reason and record what I play on the Monotribe on these programs?
Then use the parts recorded on a song of mine (done with Logic or Reason) ?
How can I keep what I'm playing in time with the rest o the song, maybe quantizing the parts with the dedicated options in Logic and Reason?
The sync regardless of how the guy did it was totally all over the place. This means two of those units will never sync 100% accurate. It will be about the same as a midi clock sent out from any daw. yeah, in time but just not quite right.
For my money, here's what this little thing needs: At least 8 memory locations to store different patterns, a "song mode" in which you can arrange those patterns to form a composition, and 16 steps per pattern. The sync interface, though really awkward, is workable and I could live without MIDI, but without some other basic sequencing and composing tools, this device is just a cool-sounding toy, much like the Monotron.
um wsnt this part on the last video? why are we seeing it again but as a segment? and again ITS THE PRICE! LOWER IT KORG thiis thing isnt that great to shovel out that kind of money
@SPAZZOID100 dude its a toy no one would use it for music first of all. second its an UPGRADE to the tron .. why dont u buy it and let me know what wonderful things u come up with might as well buy a exs-1 atleast u can save ur work on an sd card...please i didnt say i couldnt afford it im saying i WOULDNT wste my money on it maybe u should read the comment better. or go read the other comment on the first vid
@SPAZZOID100 ok have you read the comments on this page at all? im not the only one with this opinion... and most products like this do more and are analog id pay the 500 for the es or er before i pay 250. its just that the tron was 60 bucks and that was a great price but with this really not much of an upgrade to jack the price up 200 more dollars. if you want to buy this then good but its not for me and many people leaving comments on here
@jeffkako - u2 made a classic guitar sound with a 10 radioshack speaker and a cardboard box in a bathroom- early synth gurus used pocket calculators and other cheap items to make cool music- its analog and when run through effects even the korg monotron sounds great if used creatively- people who think price equals quality are wrong- ive seen guys on "pro gear" completely blown away by people with cheap gear and more creativity- the racountuers used a 20$ stylophone on 2 album tracks
@salvadory right i get what your saying... i think korg is ripping ppl off with this one yeah nice upgrade but really think its worth jacking the prive to 250? another 250 and might as well get an emx1. there isnt even a way to save the stuff u do with this *sd* couldve atleast gave ppl that option .. eh whatever if ppl want it theyll buy it but for me no thanks
@jeffkako well they are now selling new for 175 on ebay and used can be had for 120-140- for that price i think they are useful especially since its analog- digital gear sucks in my opinion- id rather have a monotribe then some digital workstation but thats me so i understand opinions are opinions
I have a couple of digital metronomes and I tried to connect them to my monotribe and sync it. NO way: the steps go on but the rhythm becomes a complete mess! Any idea on what can I use to sync my monotribe without having to create a track in my DAW? I'm not planning to buy an Iphone just to download the Synckontrol, and without it this piece of gear is quite useless!
nice vid that's so sick

YES. This is exactly what I wanted to know. Korg should really have this video on the front page of their monotribe website.
Thanks a lot... I'm off to buy a monotribe right now!!!! :)

@jeffkako
"that kind of money"...it's only $250 for pete's sake.
If you can't afford something so cheap, quit music altogether.

@jeffkako
It's only a toy if you choose to see it as a toy. It's ANALOG, and it's only $250, which translates into a good instrument at a bargain price.
