You are spot on about keep getting back on your board.
I was out yesterday having a surf, and was thinking along similar lines.
The thing that really stood out to me was that for the experienced surfers, catching a wave is almost effortless, because they have the timing and are able to position themselves to take advantage of the power of the wave which does most of the work for them.
The same will happen for your business when you put in the effort and find the right wave.
