I remember sitting in McDonalds in Brixton after this gig and I couldn't hear a thing - my ears were ringing for days. I thought I'd never hear properly again. Not that it wasn't worth it, Drive Blind is one of the best songs live I've ever heard. Unfortunately YouTube just doesn't do it justice.

I saw these guys at an old venue in Sydney that no longer exists (Phoenician club) in 1992. The crowd literally screamed for the whole gig. Now I have never experienced that kind of reaction before or since with any other band either in Aus or O/S. They should reform god dammit!

Ride were positively one of the very best live indie bands! I was lucky enough to see their first couple of tours in LA and the sonic orgy is unforgettable, like being a pineapple chunk stuck in a Jello mold! Up there with Spiritualized and Brian Jonestown Massacre as best live experience, better (well almost) than sex!!

I saw Ride live about 4 or 5 times in 1991-1992, and although this version is good, their live version always had a sonic-noise wave freak-out bit at the end which really kicked ass and drove the crowd nuts. Kinda like My Bloody Valentine's freak-out in "You Made Me Realise." This version does not have it obviously, which is a bummer.

Someone should go to the Creation records headquarters, and plead for them to release the Brixton show on dvd. And by plead I naturally mean find a record label executive and collapse on the floor with your arms around his ankles repeating "please...could you release that old ride tape on dvd? it would be a good idea... you gotta, c'mon, pretty please?" Do this until he's so disgruntled that he agrees to do it, just so you'll go away.
