Be sure to include the tank and one of the barrels found in the large room. As soon as your pile is finished, Rosie should be finished fighting the Splicer(s) and will head back up the steps. If it doesn't, you need to restart from the save point since it can react a couple different ways. When Rosie reaches the pile, throw the remaining barrel at it and watch it die with one huge explosion. Simple!

thanks for the help man! btw accidentally found that if you let the rosie come up the stairs as it goes through the door you entered in, throwing that first cannister into the rosie when hes near the other two kills the SHIT outta him when they go AND hes disoriented when you run to the fisheries to get the next one. 2 more shots and rosie was dead!

at the time this was uploaded, he didn't know about that, he was mixing big daddy with little sister. It looks like Bioshock 2 will be played from the Prototype Big Daddy's perspective (one that still retains some degree of free will, unlike the revised versions)

It gets even easier to kill big daddys further in the game once you've obtained the grenade launcher with proximity mines. I've seen some people take them out in one hit with an explosive barrel covered in proximity mines.

Look at 0:28 in the video, right where the vending machine and gene bank is. To the left of the gene bank there's a sort of metal door from which you can stand on and never be touched by a Big Daddy. Just lead the Big Daddy back to that part and get on top of it, here he can't touch you, and you can keep shooting his head while going into cover. It's the best way to kill him, right next to mactiddy's strategy.

Mactiddy did an EXCELLENT job on this walkthrough.. I bet it took a very long time to process all these videos. I couldnt even beat this game on easy until i found this walkthrough, now i beat the game 4 times on hard 8 on medium and 10 on easy thanks to this walkthrough, and i watch it everytime. From tossing the barrels all the way across the area at him, when it blew he'd shoot me a few times then I also picked up decoy (Saved 80 adam from not picking eve upgrade.) so it'd busily fight the decoy and when I left it'd re-hitch it's rivet gun after dealing with my decoy so I could just keep pegging him with barrels then turning his attention away with decoy and repeating.

Now it may just be because i played on Normal mode, but the Roseies weren't all that hard for me, if you stay close enough they either try to hit you or throw prox. mines and the gun didn't do much...now the elite bouncers...don't get me started.

You can also collect all the barrels and set them next to the big daddy, (drop them instead of throw.) Then shoot the barrel right next to the big daddy. He won't aggro you.

Thats not the first glimpse of her, your first actual glimpse I believe is in the very begging where you witness the murder. They sound very alike and look very alike, though often times game creators do get lazy and make enemies look the same.

I find it easier to lure the big daddy back through Rose's tunnel and back to the level's entrance. Then I jump up and over that fallen debris and shoot at him from the gap beside the vending machine (each time he stalls in his firing). (Also, if needed, there is some electric buck at the edge of the hole in the ceiling where Rose jumped up into which you can retrieve using telekenisis)

I tried that exact strategy in a few of my practice runs, and it does work pretty well. I chose the method I did due to it's repeatability and conservation of ammo. It was just easier to film basically. Some trade offs had to be made.

I found a small flaw in my strategy (at least in my game). At times, the Big Daddy can glitch over the debris to the right of the vending machine. Scared me a little when he did that since he was suddenly shooting at me from above.
