  • Comment removed

  • This is good shit, im just 17, and I normaly listen to stuff like Suicede Silence, but in some way this is almost heavier^^

Anyway, i dont know if its quite common here, but everytime it comes to music, and ppl that dont like eachothers genres, they usally abuse eachother, or just telling "jokes" about their small dicks cuz they dont like the music.... Thumbs up if you agree thats not what music is all about!

  • If this isn't on your Favs list you got problems.

  • V_V_V-v-rrroooommmm...Can't scooyt 55.

  • I know they toured together in Van Halen's early days about the time they were just beginning to make it big on the club scene. One of the favorites to jam to was Dancing Feet I'm sure they did others as well but these were done back stage before or at sets.I would have love to be there for those jam sessions.Wouldn't You?!!!!

  • Sammy Hagar was the vocalist for Montrose

  • What a great band, Ronnie came out retirement in the mid 80`s and played a bar I was a DJ at and they did suck, Ronnie lived and still lives out on Indian Rocks Beach, South of Clearwater FL. and he just walks the beach a lot and doesn't do much, As far as what friends tell me.

I did hear he was out west doing some shows and basically just kicking around.

  • This sucks it's so generic ,sounds like Foghat ,bore fest!

  • awesome

  • who is Justin "Gay" Beebel?

  • @sabbathfreak1 Look down at your dick, He`s the one balls deep on it now run along boy.

  • THE NAME IS SAMMY HAGAR YA DOPE

  • did anyone else just realize that motley crue ripped of the intro

  • you know Sammy was not the 1st choice to replace D.L.R.! it was offered to Patti Smyth but she turned them down.

  • I met Eddie Van Halen in Shreveport La. visiting Valerie B.'s parents, when he was at a party next door. My next door neighbor came over an invited me to the party and bring my first 2 Montrose LPs. I do believe like others that Eddie gave Sammy H. the call, when DLR was fired to be their next singer. Eddie just was quiet at the party and didn't liven up until I put the first Montrose LP on the needle.

  • Ronnie Montrose was in the Edgar Winter Group before he started this group!

  • @lvkenny420man WoW I never knew that.

  • @GhostsInMyAttic [yeah the Edgar Winter Group was like a super group with Edgar,Ronnie Montrose,Dan Hartman,Chuck Ruff, and Rick Derringer not only did Rick play gutiar he also produced most of Edgar and Johnny Winter's albums.

  • @lvkenny420man That is awesome is there anything on YouTube of them?

  • Who else thinks Motley Crue ripped of the opening for their "kickstart my heart"?

  • @triactorpat Yeah they totally did. Good call!

  • Sammy is awesome! I just sold my Harley....gonna get another later.

  • Love the lyrics "sure get's lonely at your daddy's farm....".

  • who do you think is singin JOUNIOR ! ! ! thats the one and only SAMMY HAGAR. I THINK THATS WHERE YOU GOT THE "VAN HAGAR" PART. TO BAD YOU DIDNT KNOW THIS MUSIC ALL ALONG ( THIS CAME OUT IN EARLY 70S" SO SOOOOOOO SORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ! ! !

  • @xlr8to220 Yeah? And you cant spell back to school twit.

  • @xlr8to220 Well, Sammy Hagar had a successful career in Montrose and his own successful solo career before he joined Van Halen. Pretty sure Montrose had some of the "glam" look and sound before Van Halen did.

  • @HeavyMetalBeliever I saw Sammy open for Boston on their first tour and Sammy kicked serious ass and when Boston came on they were great but, Had little stage experience and it looked rehearsed but, Sammy was a well seasoned pro by then and it really showed in his performance.

  • @GhostsInMyAttic Awesome! Daaamn, Sammy Hagar's a pretty cool guy.

  • @HeavyMetalBeliever Hell yea man I remember it like it was yesterday.

    Cheer =]

  • underrated drummer: Denny Carmassi

  • cruisin in my 1962 chevy impala with built 350 shifting gears to this tune....does'nt get much better.....back in the 70's.

  • Sammy Hagar probably made that reference, not David Lee Roth.

  • @greyscaleful Bollocks mate.

  • @greyscaleful Bollocks.

  • ron and bro sammy and rick

  • Bad Motor Scooter,a staple every fucking week end in the basements of Scarberia.Ont.

  • 2:10-3:45 My favorite part of this song. RONNIE MONTROSE RULES!!!!!

  • Brings back sweet memories of my teenage years :) Oh wait, this is my teenage years!

  • man this is Sammy Hagar and Ronnie montrose

  • This kicks some serious bootie....... !

  • Ronnie Montose's band was him, Alan Fitzgerald, Denny Carmassi, and Sammy Hagar. David Lee Roth was NEVER part of it. Ronnie Montrose later fired Hagar from the band!

  • @MrGthrasher Mr Potatomasher - Wrong Bill Church played bass on this record and there wasn't a keyboard player here either. Fail nitwit.

  • I think that the Mont can Trose...

  • im gay for motrose

  • What happened to musicians that had talent? Today its all junk.

  • great stuff...i remember picking this album up as soon as it hit the shelf..my friends were blown away ...as was I ...thanks redbirdfan

  • My all time favorite rock and roll song! The best concert I ever went to was Montrose, Journey (when they were good) and UFO at Winterland. Fucking amazing! that was damn near 35 years ago. I'll never forget it.

  • If you haven't seen it, the Chickenfoot version of this song is very far from shabby - but then it ought to be - Sammy Hagar is palying the lap/slide guitar and singing!

  • Kick ass jam.

  • Great Song ... Great Album ... Great Memories

  • sam halen .. van hagar... either way.. they had two of the best front men in the business.. along with steve perry and steven tyler.. and the list goes on and on and on......

  • @dlew71662 ok montrose was a band with sammy but he was also sammy for awhile then halen choose your bitch! van halen was better without him he was awesome on his own numbers dont reflect it but true fans know and montrose it rocked all byitself he is awesome saw him then saw him w van halen both shows were great david lee roth also was great w van halen in my opinion sammy was better alone david rocked vh not most agree

  • @MrJims23 Agreed, I've been a fan long before he hooked up with VH (who I also love) and IMO I don't think being in VH really did him any great favours, he was absolutely killer solo - decent guitarist, great singer and and an outstanding and charismatic frontman - and look at Chickenfoot - I never thought I'd live to see the day I actually liked anything Satriani did (brilliant technical guitarist, but normally he bores me to tears) - Sammy has knocked him into great shape!

  • I saw Montrose with Sammy Hagar back in the day, awesome. Ronnie Montrose was also great with Edgar Winter circa "They only come out at night"

  • ok who else than came here cause of phil x?

  • DLR cant hold Sammys jock although he might want too

  • Shit this was like 37 years ago. Our fucking Benny Goodman!!

Still outrageous. Best fucking rock ever.

  • @sexpistolsdaz Are You referring to David Lee Roth? He wasn't apart of this band; that was Van Halen.

  • @redbirdfan126 Dave Lee Rooth said he used to sing Rock The Nation live with his old band I am sure I read that in Kerrang...

  • @sexpistolsdaz Sure, I imagine Van Halen covered of few Montrose songs back in the early days, too. I do know they did a cover of Rainbow's Man on the Silver Mountain, for example. However, DLR was never apart of Montrose.

  • @redbirdfan126 he must of been thinkin about SAMMY he was with MONTROSE this n rock candy were kick ass

  • @001THEMADMIKE HELLYEAH MAN!!!!!

  • @sexpistolsdaz DLR wasn't even part of Montrose. He was in Van Halen. He performed with them on VH I, VH II, Women and Children First, Fair Warning, Diver Down, and 1984. He left Van Halen in 1985 and Sammy Hagar joined from then to 2004.

  • @sexpistolsdaz You might mean Sammy Hagar!

  • @sexpistolsdaz David Lee Rooth said he made this album and then Paper Honey before joining Van Halen. Me thinks some Montrose fans are getting on a bit...

  • @sexpistolsdaz Sammy Hagar, not DLR, was in this band from '73 to '75 then he went solo til VH picked him up.

  • @sexpistolsdaz I think you have him confused with Sammy Hagar.

  • @almostfamous01 Bollocks.

  • @sexpistolsdaz David Lee Roth was never a part of Montrose. Sammy Hagar was in Montrose from 73-75 so maybe that is what you are thinking about.

  • @sexpistolsdaz he as never been in THIS band! are a you a A troll? are you a cunt? 1985 the 1st time. FUCK!!!!!!

  • @eqsmooth Eggspoon Up yours twit.

  • @sexpistolsdaz I challenge you to a duel, fuck face

  • @sexpistolsdaz fuck you cunt. DLR sucks and is playing casinos. Indian gaming casinos for retirees.

  • @eqsmooth Peepoohsmudge You like early Chicago - what a poof. Henry Rollins Band oh my why am I not surprised that you like brain dead insecure macho twits Most of Kurt Vonnegut's stuff what those books of his that have illustrations? Up yours dullard.

  • @sexpistolsdaz Looking at your channel I see a big dyed blond faggot who likes blink 182, cannot play drums at all, can't read and knows nothing about good music or literature. Certainly cannot compose a coherent sentence. I saw Van Halen in 1979 before they became an embarrassment. By 1984, when I saw them again they were all but done. Just awful. Stay in your mom's basement eating lint out of your belly button.

  • @eqsmooth Yo totallyunsmooth play fair I wash my belly button every second Thursday. You work in Visual Publishing how's that work then? You clean the crappers there or make coffee for the real employees? And you went to the same "university" as Ronald Mc Donald oh God how I dislike middle class fakes who think they are hip. PS Could I borrow one of your EARLY Chicago albums as I desperately need a good laugh? Nitwit.

  • @sexpistolsdaz hagar and montrose was this band

  • BEST DAMN juke box song to play ever. Go Sam.

  • Somebody discovered the whammy bar years before EVH. Cool.

  • This Song Is Sick!

  • The Absolute Biker Tribute!!!!!!!

  • You'll be at my place in less than a day. Get ready to get fucked up.

  • I just discovered this band after Space Station #5 caught my attention. I am blown away by how loyal the fanbase is. You guys are probably the source of Sammy Hagar's ego.

  • its cool how this song came out in the early 70's but it was the hardest song ever made so they never put it on the radio

  • @TheLigitGamerrrrr Montrose was so far ahead of their time people didnt know how to react to them the first time they heard them.

  • @kblopp i never thought about that. your right!

  • @TheLigitGamerrrrr - heard it on My SE Michigan & NW Ohio radio staitions- we know how to rock, baby!

  • FTW

  • Played this album till I wore it out. What a kick ass rock anthem!

  • Happy Birthday Sammy! Fuck Yeah!

  • she was cute and with me and it was my first scooter yamaha v max and this dude came up on his ninja and we blew him away so bad from the lights to the next. :)

  • 6 pack +air drum= Nirvana.

  • Montrose is performing at Poor David's Pub in Dallas Tx Friday Oct 7, 2011. Great, small, intimate venue. Saw Montrose open the 1975 Stones show at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Eagles and Trapeze also supported the Stones. Wore a fine-mesh fishnet shirt and went home with a checkerboard patterned sunburn. Totally worth it.

  • A rockers ultimate rock album. hard driving hard to beat. Welcome Sammy Hagar to party.

  • Fucking brilliant! Best album ever made no doubt about that. Crank it on up!

  • 8 people dont have a bad motor scooter

  • Its hard to listen to this first album of Montrose and not think, best rock debut album ever......Like Sammy just recently said, they would have been the next mighty Zep if they wouldnt have broke up....

  • @blindmellonchittlen it was exceptional, no doubt. my vote goes to boston's debut. who would have thought that an m.i.t. technogeek could play like that?

  • My mother denying me a minibike (that I my dad had already bought me) on my 11th birthday and this song are more than likely the reasons I ended up riding a motorcycle as an adult.

  • I have tried, believe me I have TRIED, to master that slide at the beginning- Ronnie, if you'e a Youtube fan, how the fwqk did you DO that?????????

  • ahhhhhyeah classic........lets ride.!

  • ;)

  • One of if not the greatest rock albums of all time...

  • Ronnie Montrose is one of the most under rated guitarists in rock history. He may not be as flashy as others but his phrasing is perfect and in the pocket. It's a shame he doesn't get the respect he deserves. The first Montrose album is one of the best albums in rock history.

  • OMG what a rifftanstic song imagine how hot the farm girl sammy is singing about actually is dear oh dear. Best album ever for sure. all the lame ass rockers out there sound listen to this glorious record. Kings O f Leon for example what a bunch of pussies man!

  • 6 dislike's ha ha ha

  • I've always just loved the slide backup during the lead part. shivers

  • My 15 year old son ask me who the new band was. This music was HOT when I was 15 (35 years ago) and is still HOT today. Timeless Rock!

  • @ 3:45

"I'd come out to your place (but)

I'm afraid of your dad. So you..."

The last generation to recognize what Family is all about. I'm not looking for a debate on the subject so don't even bother commenting back because.....

    YOU WILL LOSE.

  • I don't remember the OCEANS OF BEER that always came with this album!!!

  • you did that too

  • I bought this album (the vinyl version) back in 1973. My friends thought I was crazy. Who's crazy now...

  • @nickellicker i hope you kicked those cocksuckers to the curb!

  • @nickellicker buying this tomarrow with uriah heeps "looking at you" on record my friends think there a waste of money but i dont care some 18 year olds gotta stop the bleeding, buy carrying this on

  • Saw this guy in a small venue. I think he damaged my hearing.

  • Mid 70's. Listened to this with a Marantz 2230 receiver, Dual 1228 turntable, and Infinity POS II speakers. Headphones were Koss Pro 4AA. Drove my mom crazy!

  • THIS CLASSIC MUST ALWAYS BE PLAYED AT 11 NO QUESTIONS ASKED

  • @Mega8track

    No question 11.

  • wore out this album.,8 track, and cassette!

  • Still top 5 rock song of all time. No more inspiring song than this for a guitar player to want to grab his axe!!

  • makes me want to be bad! when it didnt hurt so much the next day to just indulge in the scene u were enjoying at the moment and throw caution to the wind. But aren't we all so grateful that we did cuz we have so many great stories to laugh about today. Really good times......

  • makes me want to be bad!

  • The *second-greatest* biker anthem ever! Thanks for posting.

  • It is NOT a self-titled album, the record label gave the title. It is however an eponymously titled album, which is what the fuckwit that loaded up this pile of trash probably meant.

  • @MrPopliphaha Why would anybody waste their time searching for and posting negative comments about music they really hate, unless they're totally self-unaware (or just really stupid)?

(Unless you really sincerely get off by doing so; but if that's the case, then you should really be gracious and THANK the folks for uploading these videos that you hate so!

  • Motley Crue robbed the opening of this song for "Jump start my heart"

  • @cell9song Yeah, Mick Mars lifted that for the intro to 'Kick Start My Heart'.

  • 0ne of those albums we used to flip over and over and over
