and there is only 288 tires under the load ...72 axels ..each axel has 4 tires ....and if tx gave 20k per axel on the permit ....that would only be 1.4 million
this load at the time was the biggest load moved in tx ...not the biggest in the world ....and trust me Mammoet is in it to win it and i know for a fact they wouldnt blow 100 tires a day ....and kenworths are not macks
@JustSayin24 of course not. besides, blending is murder. I hate that will it blend idiot who always smiles. Even when blending an iPad! )": God my heart just cracks up when he snaps that ipad in half!
@mrbrandonh82 i woulda guessed western star by the grill, but the hood ornament is obviously kenworth...how old are those? i havent seen a kenworth with a square grill in at least 10 years. Also, they look nothing like macks whoever said that, i dont think mack would be trusted for a job like that.
The mamoet load which I was part of back in 2009 was bigger than this. It was as big as two story house. I drove one of the truck that had part of the machinery. I heard from the driver it costed 200,000 dollars just to transport the machinery. I had a picture of that load it was deffinelty bigger than this.
l have seen them move 16,000 tonnes, that is 35,273,961 lbs (35 million and change) in the old scale, in Holland, Oil Rig Modules get made very big, and yes they go on wheels to the barge that ships them to the platform.
1.9 million lbs is not really a biggie, 860 tonnes get moved on a daily basis, we just need a shitload less wheels to get that on the ground, 44 axles, divided over two lines, makes it 11 at the front, 11 at the back, 352 tires in total, lot less than used here in this "thing"
It would be far more costly to assemble the generator. It is made extreme tolerances in very clean conditions which cannot be duplicated at any construction site. In Central Alberta we have several large projects that have reaped several 100 million dollars in savings buy going with this system. The extra labor costs and safety risk made some project prohibitive until we utilized this technology from such companies as Mammot as an example.
The machine did *not* land at Charleston, SC, or Savannah, GA either. The machine left from Millstone Landing in Purrysburg near Hardeeville, South Carolina. The Generator was barged up the Savannah river to Millstone landing. It was unloaded at the landing and sat for "months" waiting for the final route and permits from the state of South Carolina. How do I know? I have lunch at the landing frequently and enjoyed marveling at this monster while it waited to be moved to a permanent home...
That maybe the largest load moved on wheels is SC, or maybe the largest load moved on a public highway in the US but it is by no means the largest load moved on wheels in the world! not by a long shot. Companies like Mammoet, ALE , Fagioli & Sarens have moved much bigger over here in Europe.
@clownbaby768 Everyone around here does. Someone says can I have a soda everyone will stare at you like your from texas or something. I've always said pop my whole life as well as everyone I know from MN
dude, they moved the hatteras lighthouse on wheels, and it's more than 200 ft tall and made of brick. also the space shuttle's moved on wheels. this video's still sweet tho
