I passed this mission with first the original batch of marines, cause fuck you kerrigan, then jacksons revenge and the marines against another base, then spectres for another one AND then just made static defense, made 200/200 scvs with 3/3 upgrades and rushed that shit, cause fuck you. Kerrigan.

@NovemberAlphaTango It does. If you look a bit closer you will notice the Leviathan start spawning and attacking the ghosts. However the ghosts start sniping so fast it barely has anytime to actually attack.

My favorite thing to do is put up hive emaluators or whatever and mind control the hell out of ultralisks and the occasional roah and corruptor and most of all, mutalisks. Then i use the swarm against itself. Btw i have about 19 hive mind emaluators to do this. :P

This mission is among the easiest on Brutal, really. Its difficulty is nothing compared to Supernova and In Utter Darkness. I guess it would be harder to complete this using mass ghost for offense.

You can take out the Leviathan and the platforms with a huge stimmed MMM bioball. Use banshees to help with the Northwestern platform. It's possible to avoid the Leviathan entirely, though.

Ahhh... ghosts... in large numbers counter everything. In a bit smaller numbers they invalidate everything but roaches, ultras and broodlords. TBFH im glad they can finally do damage - in SC they were nothing more than casters.

Surviving the first few minutes is the hard part, once you do that there's enough resources (if you take two of the three expos) to max out on BCs and still have a lot left over. Once you're maxed on BCs with some science vessel the rest of the mission is a joke, even the leviathian gets one-shotted by that many yamato guns. If you have the hive mind emulator it makes it much easier to defend early, just mind control a couple ultras and broodloards and use medivacs to keep them alive.

@ShinobiXRevived I have done this mission with Spectres only on brutal - 35 minutes since they're not as good as ghosts vs zerg. Trust me, the first few minutes are like what you said, then the spectres can catch up to every enemy wave that comes in and stuns every attack, I never even bothered with base defense.

@ShinobiXRevived your base dosen't need strong AA or many siege tanks. the first expo (the bottom one) needs ... about 5 turrets, but that's it.

after you've taken out the first platform, go mass marine / medic vs the bottom right platform and build 6-8 banshees for the other two (top left - strong anti-ground, and bottom left - you fly in and target the reactor, no need to clean up).

and you do have enough money for 30 ghosts.
