The accompanying program from ArcSoft (MediaImpression) are only able to convert the file to wmv (maximum 352 * 288p 4:3) or MPEG-1 (720 * 576p 4:3) or quicktime (720 * 576p 4:3)

The cam can only be used against YouTube, or burn directly to DVD. The file that the camera saves the movie in (H.264, AVI format) are unreadable by all the editors on the market. Whether you have a PC or MAC. A really good, and easy to use, camera, which is almost unusable unless you upload your movies directly (unedited) on to YouTube, or burn them (unedited) to DVD.

It is an okay camera for the money. Only weird thing is that 1440p × 1080p stands for video ratio 4:3 and my totem media player over on Linux tries to play vid as full HD 1920p × 1080p, meaning at every image line ends at 1440px and goes on from the beginning of the frame.

So many people give this camera poor reviews, even people that don't own one, but remember that you get what you pay for and considering the bargain price that this camera was I am extremely pleased with my recent purchase, yeah the mic is sometimes quite, auto focus likes to play around in fast moving activities, but adjust your filming technique and it's a damn fine camera to own.
