  • NEatneATNEAt tune,,,rUBINOOS Rule o.k. xxxx

  • Rubinoos forever!!

    Galicia querevos

  • They were as good as The Knack....but for some reason they never caught on

in the U.S. Thank God for Europe. R.I.P Doug Fieger!

  • @AnnaAnnaYes They got caught up with their record distribution going bankrupt right when they had momentum

  • @28if You are right, i forgot Berserkely went belly-up !

  • @Morgethein A very good analogy,i agree with you!!

  • Does anyone have the studio version? If so please please put it on the Tube. Thanks already

  • @KatiKuusisto This is actually pretty close to the studio one. They were a great live band. I'm surprised more vids aren't up from their 1977 classic LP? Maybe copyright issues? I'll try putting this song up and see.

  • I think you're all missing the point, which is...it isn't dead. The chord progression isn't any more or less complex than a lot of the other Rubinoos material...it's just played in a different style. You can't judge how good a song is by how many chords are in it anyway! I always felt that what they were saying is that even though they play pretty pop songs with harmonies they still can't resist kicking out the jams once in awhile. That's the point!

  • Rock N Roll will never die it will live on forever

  • This is great!

The live version is so much better then the studio version.

  • the drummer looks like the ramones guitarist

  • Don't agree with family cat but he does have a point - this is just a very tired old basic rock riff - nothin' to it. I Wanna be Your Boyfriend - now THAT was great powerpop! Anyone got the clip? PLEASE!!!

  • Duh, that was thepoint of the song

  • So does that mean I have to like it?

  • You can not like it and still not get the point. :D

  • I always understood the point. What makes you think I didn't?

  • Exactly.

  • Thanks to the Rubinoos, rock 'n' roll isn't entirely dead!

  • That's why there is Britany Spears and Fergie, just for you

  • power pop at its finest...thx for posting

  • I used to cover this song in 1981... Great band!

  • Great Tune!!! this guys Rock..

  • u should see the hellacopters playin this song they rule

  • Cool performance! Is there a video out there of them performing "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend"? This I'd like to see.

  • ive been trying to find a tab for this song, does anyone know where i can get one?

  • Sounds like a D F C G chord progression to me

  • that sounds pretty right, on piano atleast. i havent tried guitar yet. thanks.

  • Yup, DFCG barred power-chords. Chorus is A#CD.

  • One of the greatest rock songs ever!!! Thanks for posting it. Stairway to Berkeley

  • now this is rock....very cool

  • So happy to see this again. It was on a special OGWT - '78 I think - which was a Beserkley label showcase with lots of other labelmates. At the end, all the bands come on stage together - for a joyous reprise of this song (I think). Half the bands just jump around pretending to play tennis rackets. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Circa 1977. They were on the Bezerkley label out of you guessed it Berkeley CA. This label also likcked off the careers of Jonathin Richmond, Greg Kihn and Earth Quake

  • "Earth Quake" my wife/I have that Album

  • Cool, better than the Rolling Stone Magaine special which aired circa 1979. Nice to see Royce on bass
