  • I was listening for this video all evening before the defense of my dissertation. "Act as if" really works :) ;)

  • Straight copy of Glenngary Glen Ross. Sales can be ruthless...

  • Reeeeee Tayyyyyy Nerrrrrrrrrr!

  • Wow, Ben Assfleck.

  • Ben Affleck is such a fucking tool. Anyone who likes this scene is a fucking moron.

  • Is this OTT? Yeah but I love Affleck!!! By the way I make a decent living wearing a headset, but I love the confidence :-)

  • Im sorry. I wish it was Alec Baldwin saying these lines.

  • MONEY CANT BRING happiness? LOOK AT THIS SMILE ON MY FACE >:( love that lol

  • He's too cool to be a cheater, :D

  • I closed a deal today with a life insurance client and it isn't that hard. You only have to put their interest first. Plus listening and answering their questions goes along way. Clients smell your interests from a mile way and they will make excuses not to buy your products. So people (salesmen) just be yourself and learn from your up-line and be around successful people who will show you how it is done.

  • im not a mcdonals worker. im a successful sales person..these lines are garbage and affflecks acting is terrible. plus these guys r ripping people off in this movie. no bueno!

  • I have to do a monologue like this in english class , can someone of you suggest to me one but that has a minimal amount of swearing , thanks :)

  • soo funny

  • cheap GGR knock off

  • Always be fucking closing .... Ggrrrrrrrr live by that

  • That's it I'm done!!!

  • Best Speech ever

  • The was horrible. It sounded like he was reading from a script.

  • It was a fine movie. Shows the kind of people and firms that almost destroyed this country! The mess we are in now is easy to trace back to this type of business attitude.

  • Act as if... Exactly what Affleck has been doing since forever. Act as if you actually knew the basics to acting!!!!

  • "And best of all kids, I am... liquid"

  • @vincentvendetta2 --you are truly an idiot. I hate Baldwin personally he's a liberal puke and wife abuser. But he acted his ass off in Glengarry Glen Ross. This speech is great if you never saw GGR. Affleck isn't the problem, it's the mooch who wrote the script. High school level imitation of a masterpiece. But no Affleck will never be considered a great actor. Adequate, nothing more.

  • "What are you? Last night's erection?"

  • 3:40

     thats all

  • 20 people also have their Series 7 license.

  • not bad, but role felt way too forced with affleck.

baldwin was immersed in the role, he WAS that person in the epic scene. that is why people here are harping on affleck.

  • Ben Affleck, you call yourself an actor, you son of a bitch?

  • So this is what a poor man's Alec Baldwin monologue sounds like. Could've placed a cardboard in the scene and it would've been better. As the cliche goes, FAIL.

  • So boring. It's not Baldwin; it's just weak infomercial script reading.

  • @awhite6 Wonder if the writers paid Mamet for stealing some of his dialogue (and screwing it up). Ben can't carry Baldwin's jock. Weak sauce

  • you are the future big swinging dicks of this firm !

  • I act as if I'm the CEO of planet Earth, and I have a 39 inch cock.

  • I think this fucking clip is the bomb, and all of you "so-called sales fucks",who are having trouble closing the fucking bathroom door, when you're getting ready to take "a dump",better eat some more "goverment chesse",because you're going die on food stamps, you worth-less bastards.

  • Thankyou for the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this speech belongs in some sort of hall of fame for dialogue

  • I really don't find this type of guy attractive... he seems very typical. Face proportioned in average 3rds, vertical symmetry, Square jaw, brown eyes, short brown hair. Sure he's got the typical "good old boy" look, but I just prefer more character in a face. Something distinctive. This guy's not it.

  • @alextoob1 wtf are you a face analyst? gtfoh

  • @IMAGonTheInternet Everyone is a face analyst, in the moment that they decide whether or not someone is attractive. DURRRR Did you need that explained to you

  • the ending was pure ben affleck. "that's it i'm done". hahaha

  • What a fucking stud.

  • I read this scene on wiki and thought "this is awesome." Affleck's completely ruined it

  • this explains alot.....most of these guys in 2008 went bunkrupt....now they are in deeper shit doing more sinister stuff

  • you want vacation time go teach third grade public school. LOLOL

  • I fucking love 0:16

  • is this a reality?

  • So true you need to act the part in sales. I do cold calls durning the slow season at my job. I outsell teams of 13 on cold calls on a daily. I don't take no for an answer and just make it happen. If you are in sales watch this movie and act the part. Just make sure to keep it legal.

  • @jimbo462nd It has been quite a while since I saw this movie but wasn't the gist of it that they were selling stock in fake companies or was it they were selling stock in real companies and the real companies didn't know about it?

  • Not a bad scene, but Baldwin wins. In fairness, Alec had a better script to work with.

  • Can't lick Baldwin's shoes

  • If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. There is nothing respectable about this speech, rather, it's a poor attempt at conning people to enter a pyramid scheme. The company is not legitimate and the head of the firm (played by Ben Affleck) is a moron. Anyone with a decent sense of foresight can calculate the expected life span of a pyramid scheme and realize that the end of the road is jail.

  • @TheDirtyQuail

Stratton Oakmont wasn't a pyramid scheme... idiot.

  • @TebulotVIII The movie may be based on firms like Stratton Oakmont, but considering the name of the firm here is J.T. Marlin, you've already lost credibility.

Pump and dump fraud is a type of pyramid scheme. After a while, recruits need to be hired on an exponential level in order to seek out new investors, who accordingly buy a greater number of shares or are joined by a proportionally higher number of new investors. It's an unsustainable business that requires growth by mathematical factors.

  • <3 it

  • baldwins speech IS better though...

    afflecks not intimidating enough

  • total awesomeness.. if you're not in sales you will never understand.

  • @jclouston7 you don't need to be in sales to understand this level of bullshit

  • @jclouston7 exacty. they just dont get it

  • This clip is living proof for the fact that Ben Affleck has never made it as an actor...

  • this is such a pathetic attempt at imitating glengarry glen cross. its like the true life channel version.

i actually can't believe how bad an actor affleck is, after watching this.

He was good in good will hunting, but clearly he was getting a lot of tips or something, because this is shameful

  • @c64c64c64 you must be a professional actor huh?

  • @familycocktail

    yes, i starred in pornos

  • As much as I think Ben Affleck sucks as an actor, these scenes were excellent. I watch it often and recommend it to my friends and family. Good stuff, great movie.

  • so true i watch this everyday before work as well.

  • ........dude

  • slicedbeef… thats gotta be what you do for living.

  • being a millionaires not cool. you know what's cool? being a billionaire...

  • based on this scene, I don't think ben affleck is a very good actor.

  • @SlicedBeefNWotNot

based on this scene, i think ben affleck used to act in pornos

  • dude get out of here cowboysfan

  • YEAH BUT IT WAS ALL INSIDE TRADING.. WHAT A CROCK OF FUCKING SHIT!!!! THIS PROBABLY STILL GOES ON...

  • aRE ANY OF YOU BIG TALKERS THE ASSHOLES THAT TOOK PEOPLES MONEY WHEN THE HOUSING MARKET COLLAPSED FUKIN SCUM!!!!!

  • goesaround.se

  • This is not even minor leagues compared to Alec Baldwin's cameo in Glengarry Glenross. I would call him a poor mans Alec Baldwin but that would be unfair to Baldwin.

  • thats it skippy pack your shit

  • Funny how he's in this movie then in 2010/2011 he's in the company men where he loses his job. Sweet irony.

  • $150/week..that will make you a millionaire...

  • i saw this in multiplex the week it came out - great flick - thats the BEST part, to me....bravo,, bennifer -_-

  • Lame

  • So damn true. " Money root of all evil? Only poor fucks say that. Money does bring happiness. Prime example. I work a few days at this corporate building, doing security shit, theres this one dude there, about 24 years old, drives a fucking Masserati { never heard of that car before i met him}, he does accounting or aliek for the CEO floor, anyways. This fucking dude always for lunch has a new bitch or aliek come by for him, hookers or not, hot HOT broads. Did i mention. He is 1 UGLY FatFUK

  • AHHAHAHAH..... Get a real life salesmen, or we will sell you on the phones every minute of an hour... :-D

  • Say! This don't look like Glengarry, at all! I knew I should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque.

  • If you ever find yourself in a group interview then remember this small bit of advice. Run, run as fast and as far as you can.

  • Comment removed

  • 6:05 so true

shit or get off the pot

  • I love this scene man, it makes so much sense. Its all about selling, this is one of Affleck's best ever scences.

  • sloaches humanoff

  • I don't know why you bitches are moaning about Affleck's role here. Step the fuck away from Baldwin's dick, for just one second....and if you don't like this scene, why the fuck did you come here and watch it.

    You fucking McDonalds working losers.

  • @AziMeX Well why are you all up Affeck's ass. You can clearly tell that Ben Afflect is trying to act like Alec Baldwin from Glengarry Garry Ross.

  • @AziMeX

Alec Baldwin is laughing his way to the bank.

I can't stand the man, vegan asshole.

Baldwin's 1000x the actor this schmuck will ever become though.

  • @AziMeX

    Are you being sarcastic?

  • @AziMeX you and i need to drink a beer together haha

  • @ZAC2994 Make that a Long Island Ice Tea and I'm game.

  • @AziMeX sounds good

  • @AziMeX It's not that we like Baldwin's performance more, it's just Affleck not being credible here. Does he really looks like a badass millionaire to you?

  • @egarrulo

Affleck's performance here is actually dead-on. A college buddy of mine spent a few months at one of the two firms JT Marlin was based on (thankfully he left before things went fully south) and he found these inspirational speeches so hilarious he managed to tape a few secretly. Imagine Long Island douchbaggery and bravado... except controlled and well-educated.

  • @Murchad99 Well, I agree that if we look at it as a bravado from a youngster, than Affleck is spot on. OTOH, Baldwin's character was different. Thank you for making me notice this.

  • I don't like your necktie.

  • Affleck is a turd here, and his character is a shameless caricature of Baldwin's Blake. Mahmet should sue Younger for his brass balls.

  • Very poor and sad imitation of Alec Badlwins speech .....just bad

  • This movie is cheesy as fuuuck

  • i watched this every day for my first year as a broker, and i easily made over a million my first year, i love this country

  • man i wish Al Pacino was in that role..

  • Very good....but not as good as Alec Baldwin in Glengarry glen ross. But very good though!

  • @jessontherun hey buddy why don't you learn how to spell niche before bragging about how great you are. D bag.

  • This is good! No matter what these other commenters say. I'd love to be a hardass like that.

  • you gotta be a hardass to run a house of cards

  • @n3wtz1

Nice!!! I was thinking that sort of thing. These group speeches Ben does are quite memorable though, aren't they?

  • @dynamicwolf

watching this clip made me go get the movie to watch again!

  • Those guys got their asses kicked and I think mine to.

  • I wish my boss was more like this guy!

  • I find it sad that people label this as an inspirational speech and worthy of admiration. Didn't anyone finish the movie and got the moral of the story? "I learned how to fuck people out of their money...he was just a poor shmuck and I took him" is what Seth said at the end.

This movie wasn't just about a fraudulent brokers firm, it was about a fraudulent career being a sales broker and salesperson, and how utterly irresponsible and destructive it can sometimes be.

  • @lugia3 Morality is a shallow human invention, only used so you can feel better about your own choices because it's accepted by society. Deep down every man alive wants to have and be like the persona that is here represented by Ben Affleck. The fact that people acknowledge it here is simply because they are anonymous and are therefore not subject to the negative consequences of admitting that they really do not care about these "official bogus moral laws".

  • Assuming every "man" alive wants that much power, let's all be shrill, cynical, power-thirsty business people. We'll all be dead by the end of the week.

It's not to feel better about our choices. It's that our choices affect our environment. Making unethical choices and not being empathetic to other individuals results in a downward spiral which ultimately leads to social deterioration. Don't define being truthful to other individuals as a "morality" or "law". It's much more than that.

  • @lugia3 Your first paragraph makes no sense to me. And yes, of course we don't go around murdering people in the streets for personal gain, because there is nothing to gain from it. I'm not saying every man WILL become like this, but I am saying that we all want to. We are biologicaly "programmed" to strive for Alpha-male status, and, although there are some people whom are incapable of becomming leaders, there are no one who doesn't want to be one.

  • Well when you bring up biology, then yes, I would agree. But as humans we are able to recognize our own biological patterns and "programming" as you put it, and realize that perhaps our behaviors are "irrelevant" and "unsubstantial" to "Survival", and therefore need to be changed. Don't define morality as "shallow", because it is a survival imperative. It is perhaps an invention designed to counter our biological programming to behave in a helpful way.

  • @lugia3 Now, that I can agree with. What I meant with shallow morality is that although everyone praises themselves on being of high morale in public, when you give them an anonymous forum to express themselves, morality becomes obsolete. Therefore morality is, as you correctly state, an invention that is not even remotely representing real and uninhibited human behaviour.

  • Im afraid of americans

  • @ysuede why are u afraid of us americans?

  • Many people here I mean in America are not well educated and simple people. They can be sold anything. I got BS and a MS, try selling me anything and trust me you will lose money, I know what I am buying and where I put money.

  • @saywow2002 dont mean shit

  • @psabdulai No. You don't.

  • @psabdulai Yup I don't mean shit, I only mean sense...

  • 6:17

  • This is the best speech, listen to this and Grant Cardone, between those two you will want to do nothing but close

  • see how it feels when your making their fucking lexus payment

  • @tespid419 lol...so true...I got a pretty good job that I can easily afford a $1000/month payment....but I drive a fully paid off car..which I did buy new...but I have colleagues driving very expensive cars making huge payments with insurance..for what, to show off....guys you don't need cars to get women...seriously...have attributes such as - decent looking, well dressed, good body and well spoken , that's all it takes......

  • Hell yeah..when I came to this country I rode a beater bike...after 2 yrs got a POS (piece of shit) car...graduated to an average car...then am currently driving a high end turbo street terror..a car I used to only dream about. That grin Ben's talking about ear-to-ear baby I had it too..for over a month...before the thrill wore off. Fuck yeah!!! Thank you for this upload Arturasg for it reminds me of my roots man. You always have to look back to remind yourself your beginnnings.

  • @Tsiongky So true man, so true...we said.....

  • MONEY NEVER SLEEPS!!!!

  • who isn't hyped up after watching this? fuck.

  • And that's how Parker Selfridge got started.

  • I wanna call someone "skippy" Hahahaha i love this movie. It's so true.

    "Dont pitch the bitch"

  • ABC: Always Be Closing

  • Aeck as IF! Aeck as IF. Aeckt as if you got a 9 INCH COCK.

  • i watch this before work every day, my sales tripled and I now double my gross with my sales bonus. This shit is absolutely true.

  • @fordrac1ng81 what do you sell?

  • @Dcubs5 I sell people things they don't fucking need.

  • @fordrac1ng81 awesome!!

  • @fordrac1ng81 badass

  • @fordrac1ng81 I hear you. When I used to do hard sales, I watched this movie and my sales went up dramatically. Always be closing!

  • @fordrac1ng81 fuck you mom and dad

  • @fordrac1ng81 pfffft.... typical middle line average sales department.... inspired by a movie about fraud... lol... i net more a quarter than you gross annually... why? because I actually find the need and nitch of markets and get paid money to lecture about it for an hour, with all my travel and other expenses paid. have fun watching movies pal whilst im out at the hottest invites, parties, clubs going home with women that wouldnt even give you the time of day.

  • @JessOnTheRun if ur really this rich guy, why u wasting time on some "bum" ? A real man who is making 7 grand a month or more doesn't slap down people. Now wake up

  • @JessOnTheRun you are a dick! And you can't spell.

  • @fordrac1ng81 you should go write a book about it... lying scam faggit

  • @fordrac1ng81 Give me $100 you fag! I work at Mcdonalds!

  • That's the way you do it!

  • What a horrendous piece of shit actor. Totally not believable. He's struggling through those lines. I feel sorry for him. He is a dingle berry in Alec Baldwin's ass.

  • @gtijerino lol

  • @gtijerino What people don't understand about this movie is that they're not supposed to be 100% believable. There are people out there like this. They work at XYZ Investments in Yonkers and think they work on Wall Street. If you meet these guys, they have a false cockiness about them but inside are super insecure because they didn't go to college and know their firm is shit. Affleck (and many others in this movie) does a good job of projecting that air.

  • There is a reason why Ben Affleck is a bad actor. This clip shows why...this rates amongst the worst performances ever shown in a movie...

  • I just figured it out, he emphasizes the "fucks" way too much, he says"fuck" like a high schooler who just found out he can get away with profanity.

  • They say money can't buy happiness...Look at the FUCKING smile on my face! ear to ear baby....very motivating for me at least.

  • @bertiem lol really? You know statistically you have about as good a chance as becoming one of these guys as you do becoming the next American Idol or Hollywood A-lister.

  • not buying it at all from pretty-boy affleck, it's like he's reading it off the script. hell, this would have sounded more credible coming from tom cruise.

  • @schnork You hit it on the head, the entire time I was comparing him to Michael Douglas in Wall Street, and where Douglas made the killer instinct come off naturally, Affleck seems to be working way too hard.

  • It's unfortunate to Ben the amount of bias toward glengarry glen ross. He NAILED all three scenes. This was excellent acting and quite believable.

  • Ben Afleck's acting in this clip seems forced and not believable at all. His performance is a shadow of Alec Baldwin's brilliant peformance in Glengary.

Not to mention that this speech is a direct ripoff of Glengary.

  • "That's it, I'm done!" (waves his hand like a machete)

Really good stuff. Not Baldwin, but really good stuff nonetheless.

  • And remember, "Don't pitch the bitch".

  • Reading the comments here.... on Affleck's performance. Well, first of all it invites immediate comparison to Alec Baldwin's performance in GlenGarry. That's a given, nobody will dispute that. Is it better? No, it is not. And i hope nobody will dispute that. Why? It's hard to pin point, really. You could say Baldwin had more to work with given that it was a Mamet script but... i don't know... Affleck didn't deliver... Baldwin did... like a fuckin executioner.

  • @johnyard To me, its like two sides of the same coin. GlenGarry was in a different era of mentality for the salesman, and so is this movie.

If Glengarry Glen Ross was a manufacturer, then Boiler Room is a chopshop. Anyone can break a car down, but not everyone can build one.

  • This is good! I never saw it before.

  • how can u say this is bad acting??...its absolutly amazing, his scenes in this movie are the best parts!

  • I love this movie! That and WALL STREET

  • @HanBaby82

That's how you know you're a CAPITALIST PIG!!!

    FUCK YEAH! HAHAHAHA

  • Afleck - Worst actor in the Solar System. And to rip off the greatest ensemble of all time in Glengarry Glenross ... embarrassing to watch... an insult. Ben Fuckfleck

  • People who think like this are the reason 1/2 of America was thrown out of their houses last year and half the people on this planet don't have a house. Here's the secret to becoming a millionaire as fast as possible: be a sociopath. There. Now you don't have to watch this clip or Boiler Room.
