  • After all Agility dogs have to be older before they do the jumps and Heelwork to Music dogs can't do Freestyle until they're 18 months for that very reason. I'm not trying to criticise, she's a great dog and her owner obviously cares for her very much but please, just hang on a bit.

  • This looks a really neat trick and I'm sure it was taught very carefully but I'm a bit worried about how good an idea it was to teach it to so young a dog - I saw at the beginning that she is only 12 months old. Might it be worth waiting until her bones have fully developed before trying something like this?

  • Thanks

  • Very smart! How did you get her to walk while doing a handstand? Thanks

  • @izzie128 hey, I'm so sorry for the late reply. you can see how I trained this with my handstand video (it is posted as a response to this video) and the walking I pretty much did by luring with a treat held on the floor as you can kind of see in this video. I hope that helps a little :-)

  • haHA! That was awesome! Mabel is a super star! I love your new channel profile BTW.

  • Wow, I think I'll try this with Mi and check back with in. . . what?. . . a year? haha. No really, she seems thirsty to learn these days, so I will give it a go. Sian, perhaps you could post the tutorial as a video response to this one? 5 *!! xo

  • hehe, yes I did start training Mabel this right away, but only on very low books of course because she was a puppy but it gave her the feel for it. I don't think it's at all a hard trick to train, it just comes down to if the dog has the build and strength for it and to go slow even when the dog wants to skip ahead because it's more about muscle training than anything. great idea about the video response, I just did that!! hehe! you're the best tracy :-)

  • That is so cool!

  • awesome trick! my goal is to teach jackson this one day!

  • oo, yes you should have a go training this, jackson might be good at it as little dogs often do well at this trick :-) thanks for your comment!

  • SWEET!!! Great job I love it. hahhah, great video, awesome trick.

  • thank you very much! Mabel sends you a hug for the lovely comment :D

  • aHahAHa pause at 0:26 and ur face is AWESOME!! AhAHahAHAahAH that's sooo tyte... I wish I could get nissa doing a handstand but I don't even think I could correct myself to have the right patience to start teaching it.

  • hehe!! yes I do get rather excited when they do a good job :D you would totally have the patience to train Nissa this, it's all about controlling your emotions and staying calm, I think you can do it!!!!!

  • @zsianz1 HHahAH controlling my emotions with humans is easy because most of'em are stupid, but... i just typed a huge thign n realized i went over the limit like 500 characters but... in the reply... i learned sometrhing.... just like what I do... it's about having fun... that's what matters... and it's okay to refine skills, long as we remember to JUST HAVE FUN. ^_^ I gotta correct myself with that more often n all will be well. ^_^

    btw.... MARRY ME. =D

  • you are right!

Happy owner + happy dog = awesome training!

I find dogs easy to train and stay calm with because they are willing to listen, I find people harder because they can be stubborn. I think I need lessons from you on how to deal with humans :D

  • @zsianz1 Let's do it!! I'll show u how to deal with people... n u tickle my toes!!! ^_^

  • oks, I'll poke your toes with a feather as reward :D

  • I really have to find out how to do the handstand first. Abbey is having some trouble with THAT part, hahaha. Nice Job!

  • Hahahaha I had to come back again for that music, I feel like dancing to it. :D

    Mabel is the best!!

  • Awesome!! I love seeing bigger dogs that can do handstands! and Mabel is such a gorgeous Border Collie!

  • aww, thanks :) Mabel just loves doing this trick! hehe!

  • WOW!!!!!

    amazing great job =D

  • aww, thanks, you're such a good friend, I'm so lucky to be friends with you :D

  • SIAN! This is so good! Mabel is a natural at handstands, I'm surprised at how well she can do them after being on this earth for only 1 year, haha! Oooh and I love the music in this video. :D

    xxxxxx

  • Amazing job!! Maples doing great haha thanks to your tutorial!! just cant seem to get him away from the wall\couch

  • yes that is a though part, try and reward when his back is really straight so as he is putting all his weight on his front paws and then when he is at that stage put your arm up against the wall and see if he will go against your arm. also try it out in lots of different places so as he doesn't need to use his special wall/couch to do it. hope that's a little help :-)

  • Thanks ill try that right away :D and ill keep u updated ! thanks again!!

  • ogm wow great

  • hehe, thanks for your really nice comment :)

  • Very cool. great job

  • aww, thank you :-)

  • Wow, well done!

  • hehe, thanks Sue, Mabel just loves this trick :-)

  • where is the tutorial:(

  • just search the videos on my channel for handstand and it is the "dog handstand - clicker tutorial"

  • Great job!!!!

  • thank you so much!! Mabel sends you hugs :)
