just so smooth but a few more lesson's and your on top lol just kidding after seeing you play i threw my guitar out the window but i missed my guitar teacher buy one foot you have a wonderful style great solo i'm amazed now i'll go back to playing cards now thanks
ok its absolutly idiodic to lable anything that uses octaves as somthing that is inspired by wes, wes is my favorite guitarist of all time, grant green is a close second. 2 completly different styles.
-this solo in the video in my opinon is a mix of grant green with a more rock oriented blues
How does it not have to do with Wes? He was the father of Jazz guitar, along with Wes. You must be ignorant if you didn't hear my man hear playing those octaves.
You have a good start, man. Very percussive approach, which works in some circumstances, but can get old quickly. Perhaps you can pay more attention to your phrasing, think less like a piano player, and start learning some horn licks. Even paying attention to Mozart and his melodic ideas. Might help you start thinking outside the pentatonic box a little, which seems to be what you need at this point. Best wishes.
I agree that the picking is a little harsh. Considering your obvious skill I assume it's intentional, but I personally think the style could use a little more subtlety. That said, nice guitar and great playing!
That's great... I play that kinda style on guitar too, and one thing that really helped me is learnin Albert King and Albert Collins styles. It really helped me express myself and sound authentic to what i'm feelin, you know, havin' a direction ! You got the chops down, get the blues :)
im just starting to get into theory now and im 20 .. and if i can be anywhere near as good a jazz player is that.. ill be happy .. how are you at comping?
i had a teacher for 2 years, but theory and technique i tried to get a hold of myself..i rely on my ear alot and try to get as much theory knowledge as possible from sources around me..im 22 so still got a LOT to learn and progress! keep it up all!!keep playing, thats the key..thanks for all the comments, i really appreciate it!! cheers
nice improv over the changes! great flow keep it up. next time though you should lower the volume of your mic and put it between the speaker of your stereo and the speaker of your amp so that we hear more the music and your tone(we can hear the ambient room sound and all you picking).i do that when i'm not singing and it does a good job. keep it up, i enjoy what you've done so far
yer, the camera shifted out from between the speakers and the amp..kind of ruined the sound here and there..ill be making sure this doesnt occur again:) thanks for the comment!
Once again man, you've shown me how much more work i have in front of me if I want to get as good as you. Good Thing I still have some time to catch up... unless of course, you're younger than 17

Wow! I dont know where to start:
1. My favourite tune of all time - thanks!
2. You're GOOD!
3. I love this tune because:
Grant floats in & out of the arrangement and doesn't dominate it.
Hope to see more of your work - at least you've picked up on an incredible artist!!
