  • Im a guy and i love this car lol

  • As a used car. Don't buy this overpriced nothingness.

Get an older Hyundai Tucson, save yourself a ton of money.

Stand them side by side examine the quality of build and you will understand what I man. This suv isn't worth it.

  • I have the rav4 and its a pretty good vehicle, I drove it from Maine to albuquerque and it was outstanding. Economical coz I drove mostly on highways. Up till now Toyota dealers wants to buy it back from me for a high price coz they see my rav4 is still in excellent condition. I'm not goin to sell it back. I'm gonna buy a new car but still keep my rav4.

  • This is the sport trim... Not the limited...

  • TOYOTA: WOULDN'T IT HELP YOUR NAME AND REPUTATION IN U. S.UCK IF THERE WERE MECHANICS FROM JAPAN N GERMANY AND CHINA AND MEXICO TO FIX YOUR CARS....LIKE IN FT SHITTSBURGH, PA(Y) ALL THE MECHANICS ARE IN THE SAME U. S.UCK PIG GOV NETWORK TO CONSTANTLY BREAK DOWN YOUR CARS TO FUCK WITH YOUR NAME AND REPUTATION..ALSO.DAVID, RIGHT DAVID SOBERG, HAS THE BIGGEST HATE INVESTMENT EVER AGAINST A PERSON IN ROCK AND HEAVY METAL BECAUSE OF ????????.THAT MEANS DAVID SOBERG'S PUKE ROCK WORK IS WHAT?

  • I like this car in a 6 cylinder but I can't get past the fact that it's a soccer Mom's vehicle! ... Definetly not a "guys car".

  • My mom is considering this vehicle and I was just wondering what the fuel economy is like. From someone who has driven this car for a while I'd really like to know what the gas mileage is like. Thanks.

  • @Jumpedtime Yes, crappy plastic is what everyone wants in a car.

  • @saboobuu That crappy plastic > that american crappy plastic... So yes... everyone does want that plastic car because they can afford it; it's not like everyone is born with enough money to afford a volvo or a bmw...

  • @Tekhsheen Honda, Hyundai, Kia, etc. makes cars that are within the same price range with high quality materials

  • @saboobuu But... would you rather have an American toy or a Japanese toy?

  • @Tekhsheen I don't know?

  • This by far the best review on the RAV4. Finally, a video that spends some time on the third row seat. The third row seat is what convienced me to by this SUV but I had to special order it, to get one. No one with in 400 miles had one equiped with the third row seat. I also got the V6 motor. Mine arrives in two days...I can't wait. I actually bought it for my wife. :) Great video!

PS We've owned the Subaru Forester. I like this one a lot better.

  • I have a 2007 rav sport, bought it brand new. I choose Toyota because of the great reputation they had at the time. Although I do love to drive it, I 've had alot of warrenty work done to it, which I was quite shocking to me. Debating now whether to keep it now that the warrenty is almost up.

  • This is my company car here in Europe. Its 90% the same as the US one on the outside except that the Euro model is a shorter wheelbase and is actually more luxuriois than the US model one. The Euro model has xenon lights as well.

  • 9 real americans. lets go. fuck toyota

  • wat year is that? i think mine is a 2003 or 04 limited, god i love it, but need more hp ofr some aggressive driving

  • @Jumpedtime NO KIDDING!!

  • I love my RAV4!!!

  • mitsubishi outlander sport has better gas mileage 24/31

  • The RAV4 looks cool. I think it is cooler-looking than the CR-V and Forester. I like the 2001-2005 styles, and even the 2006-present styles. I don't like the 1997-2000 style, it is too small for me. This will be my next car, new or old.

  • What's the difference between a normal rav4 and - limited version?

  • @lexusES350h luxury! I just bought one, haven't even picked it up yet and there are way more options. The limited has the power moon roofs, the xm satalitte radio, blue tooth, steerting wheel remote audio controls, push button start, smart entry (which is as long as you have your key with you, all you have to do it touch the car with your hand and it unlocks) also blue tooth is included and fog lamps. With the base option you also don't have the option of getting the heated leather.

  • 03 highlander owner. I love my highlander. GO TOYOTA!!!!

  • @Jumpedtime I totaly agree

  • I guess only Toyota owner need to learn what the on and off switch and neutral is for as Honda, Ford, Chevy etc owners dont seem to have that problem

  • Its to bad they decided to go from making the best cars to being the biggest company. I miss the old days like how the corrola could go for 300,000km + before it starts to break down.

  • Too bland. The Chevy Equinox is the way to go.

  • i like more the interiors of the honda CR-V but the outside appereance of RAV-4 is more agresive and more estailished

  • 22 mpg in the city. Sweet! Put in the 6 six auto and I'm sure it could get 24 mpg in the city. Can't wait for the 2012 Rav4!

  • How do you guys compare this with the Equinox I wonder.

  • i m talking pricing in canada where limited model goes upto 42000 and thats hell lot expensive as one can get Merc GLK for 42K... so thats why toyota is too expensive in terms of the segment

  • ~30k for a well equipped rav4 = money well spent :)

  • toyota has worst shapes and ridiculously expensive and no 0% interest. i like the reliability of toyota but other things are just throwing me out of chosing toyota as my vehicle

  • the background music did not help this guy be less boring.

  • Despit all the recalls and the fucking media hype attacking toyota i still have faith in them.. im sure im not the only one, my friends recently bought a 2011 sienna..

  • @lexusES350h

Toyota brakes are amongst the safest in the world. Only 16 accidents and 3 deaths in the last 10 years. Over 30,000 people die in car accidents every single years.

  • @Jumpedtime great vehicles that will sometimes become uncontrollable and kill their passengers... lol

  • @ helorm341, Sometimes great vehicles become uncontrolable, because some..times.. people who drive these great vehicles act like morons and press the gas pedal a little too much.

  • @Happen2008 Lol what about the Prius? Those people and their cars ecist to NOT press the gas hard to all

  • helorm341, Well if the driver knows to control the car then it will never get uncontrolable. The only reason any machine will get uncontrollable is, when the operator is not operating it properly.

  • I do agree that people should know how to take control of their vehicles but in the case of these Toyota's it wasn't driver error that caused the sudden acceleration. The Prius' regenerative break system caused stopping problems and it's cruise control speeds out of control on certain situations at well. The pedal getting stuck and badly designed floor mats sticking the pedal have also been problems in Toyotas. A smart driver can take control of his vehicle after those things though

  • inner office documents at toyota proved that toyota knew they had a deadly problem and that toyota intentionally avoided recalls to save money, now toyots says they are soprry, toyota is sorry, sorry they got caught.

  • nice car, best reliable car out there.

  • @happyboyy8k HAHAH!! your sarcasm is rich!

  • sexy

  • After the nightmarish recall of my former SUV and victim of "Cash for Clunkers" 1998 Ford Explorer, aka Exploder, an issue that can be fixed with the installation of a tiny metal plate at no cost to me is nothing.

After all of the problems we had with that thing, and all the money we poured into it, I will never buy Ford. And when I think the short list of problems we've had with our 2000 Accord, I doubt I will buy American in the future.

Anyway, 2009 Rav(V6) is great. Takes off like a rocket.

  • @TeeAreify A twelve year old ford is an extremely poor comparison to what ford is producing now. Their quality is up there with the japanese companies. Well, Honda at least. Toyota is becoming the gm/ford of 10-15 years ago

  • That is certainly possible, but not from what I hear from my brother-in-law: a computer engineer who calibrates and tests American automobiles in Detroit.

Only time will tell, though. Having a recall of a recall is certainly a bit embarrassing, but I think the '09 Rav is a well-made compact SUV. Plus it's got heated front seats to warm your back and bottom, of which I am an adamant fan.

But back to the point - we definitely looked into new Fords, but found the Rav to be a better choice for us.

  • did he say nip size.

  • we had two company cars. one is a corollla with over 300,000 miles and was sold just late last year after being in service since 1999. we still have the 2001 Saturn in our company parking lot and no one would like to buy it.

  • This is just a minor thing. I will stick with Toyota. I think they are still more reliable than American brands. As far as I remember, I had more serious recalls with my two previous Dodges.

  • A video of proof is

    watch?v=GHvnIm9UEoQ

  • BTW as a bit of history to be aware of relative to the Auto industry in Japan be it known that Dr. W. Edwards Deming an American is considered the father of the Japanese auto industry as it exists today

  • @starview1

So? Without the ancient Egyptians and their pioneering into the realm of mathematics, there would be no auto industry as it exists today.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser it appears, considering Egypt today, the Egyptians lost their focus lol

  • @starview1

That's because the ancient Egyptians are all dead, along with their language and culture.

  • Keeping in mind that GM does make some of the transmissions used in BMW for example. The US auto industry has had a turnaround just like the Japanese did in the 1960,1970s when those cars were pagotas on wheels. The US auto mfg have had significant gains and in many cases are best in class Every car mfg has issues Toyota has a big issue right now and sofar has an odd response

  • toyota has the biggest issues ever and most dangerous. americans dont design toyotas. think about how dumb that sounds, toyota sells cars to most of the world. but americans design all of them-bullshit. they are japanese deisgn. now they have 9 million recalls wordwide for a big fix. face it toyota sucks. btw caroll shelby designed the gt40. just the first ones were made in the uk

  • @76ersbbball

recall doesn't mean fix. recall simply means checking and fixing less than 0.1% of those that are checked.

  • Toyotas are all crap. And people choose them over the big 3. Toyotas now recalling over 2 million cars. They even suspended buyers from getting new ones. Nobody can buy a new toyota until problems are fixed. I LOVE IT. There so nice, there so fuel efficient, there so reliable- BULLSHIT . Thats why foreign cars suck.

  • What do americans know about cars? All american cars are cheap crap, thats why only american buy them.

  • Toyota has serious problems and has for years, they finially got caught Bad, toyotas are not fixable as of date and they stopped making the many models Sticking accelerators, oil flow problems electrical problems ALL FACT

  • for your information, the faulty accelerators are made in America by an American company. toyotas are cheap and reliable cars, that is why they are bought all over the world.

  • Toyotas ma japanese company. 50% of toyotas in america are made there. But the parts are designed by the japanese

  • @76ersbbball

"But the parts are designed by the japanese"

    Not all of the parts.

  • Americans know a lot of cars. Go anywhere in the world and you well see a lot. Look at all the ford in europe, look at all the buicks in china. what nice cars does the UK make? none

  • in Europe, australia, africa and other exotic places in the world, there is no cadillac, gmc, buick, and other crap cars that america makes i.e. no dealers. people around the world buy hondas, toyotas, mitsubishis and lexus because they are far better than american cars. uk designed many great cars including the original ford gt40(yes it was designed by british engineers).

  • umumc62 The issue is that Toyota can't fix the problem in a timely manner if BMW has a problem they fixit. If GM has a problem they fix it,If Ford has a problem they fix it. Toyota appears confounded. Fords btw in comperable models are rated same or better than toyota same with Buick a blanket condemnation of US cars is Absurd

  • i dont care that those gm cars are not in those places. hondas, toyotas, mitsubishis and lexus are all shit. they make no nice cars that are remembered like the corvette, mustang, f150, etc. and WOW the ford gt40, one car. good job!

  • @76ersbbball lmao, toyota has always been a reliable vehicle and had a reputation like no other manufacturer and the highest residual values, then they started having problems when GM filed bankruptcy and them starting to build them in the US, Japanese is better then US that's all there is to it, and who knows GM and the Fed government could have been out for sabotage for #1 auto maker

  • @76ersbbball

America is a land of immigrants. By your definition, all Americans are foreigners.

  • I bought the car and I love it...

  • get the V6 the fuel economy doesnt change as much just 1mpg less..

  • im soooo exited where getting this its bigger and better

  • Wat is better a 4cylinder or v6 in power and fuel economy? Please help....

  • The Rav4's V6. Much more power, excellent fuel eco. for a seven seater, etc, etc. Basically what Kelley said. Anyway, the V6 is better in my opinion.

  • alright thanks bro. looks like im gonna look for a V6 rav4

  • if you want speed then v6 but if just a normal 1 the 4cylender

  • i am speed dude, i own a 2000 honda prelude and was hitting high 13 in the 1/4 mile. the V6 rav4 is pulling hella power (more than my former stock prelude) just but thanks for your opinion bro

  • shit

  • too expensive for a CUV ....I guess u get what u pay for...but for 20k i rather get something else

  • Nice little CUV and overall a good review. The 3rd row seats seemed a bit small and useless. The all-new Subaru Forester is also a formidable competitor worthy of serious consideration.

  • agreed. I would think that the honda CR-V could be in 3rd place here.

  • I own a 2004 Rav4 L (since 2004) and it is awesome. It is amazing to see it transform over the years, especially with the v6 option, and third row seating.

  • You really can't go wrong with either one. The cr-v is nice, but a bit too soft for my tastes. I like how the rav4 drives, it's solid on the road, but not harsh, and I wasn't concerned when I went off-road. I know it's no FJ, but it did what I needed just fine. It's fun and simple.

  • my dad bought the v6 limited for my mom last year, and the V6 is just a monster when it accelerates, but hey we've been getting 24 mpg overall in a rural/suburban area, it is a great car, and its so spacious! it is ridiculous how much you can pack into it! good job toyota

  • "good job toyota", amen Sum414 etc.

  • rav4 or cr-v ?

  • Comment removed

  • rav4!!crv is a piece of shit with shit performance that cant go off road, and lots of old lady bought it..

  • nice car, even better with my pioneer gps system

  • 4:30 wtf. does NOT look like a ford escape. its got a weird front end.

  • is the rav4 3rd row seatin comforatble

  • ...

That music gets annoying after watching a few of your reviews.

    Otherwise, great work. Thanks!

  • Rav 4 or santa Fe?

  • i wud go for the sante fe caue the rav4's rear cargo door is annoying because it opens on the wrong side of the road unless you live in britain or japan. It's just really annoying a hatch is much better so get the sante fe

  • no brainer! RAV4. Quality, functionality, and holy crap the V6 is fast!!!! Faster than my 2003 Accord Coupe V6, that's just wack!

RAV4 came in first place in every major automotive publication, and for good reason. Better resale too.

  • yeah youre right But i dont like the back door ...you have to open it like a door,..i think it opens on the wrong side..i like lifting the back trunk especially for huge baggages..

  • Yeah, in the end it's whatever works for you. If the back door is the limiting factor for you, then get a Santa Fe, but i find it doesn't bother me as much as i thought it would.

For me, i love the Toyota quality / reliability, the unique interior, the kickass performance and also very good fuel efficiency. Good luck in your next purchase.

  • yea but there quality is actually going down while hyundai is at the top for reliabilty toyota is better but not by a lot

  • Me either.

  • True, plus it's built in Ontario!

  • The 2009 models onward are built in Ontario, but they're still sharing production with the Japanese ones as well. Either way, it's a win-win situation :-)

  • rav4

  • Rav 4!

  • Is 3rd row seating optinal 4 this car

  • my grandma would love this truck..

    itz her favorite ;-]

  • the rav4 is fast....the v6 engine is the shit

  • wtf rav 4 got 3rd row ???

  • Rav4 has 3rd row seating but the murono don't!!!!

  • that escape is the japanese version, i think

  • IDK. We have '06 RAV4. Cheapest version, but the ride is awful, and inside feels very cheap.

  • Tiguan anyday over this

  • i like the escape, mariner, and the hybrid models. The mariner tail lights and interior are very very nice. And the hybrid gets the best suv fuel economy. The base i4 gets around 10 more hp than this i4. And lol the "escape" picture at the end looks more like an explorer but not even really like one. Where did they find that picture?

  • that wasn't even an american escape. its the previous generation austrailian/asian market escape

  • oh ok. I really couldnt tell. Never seen one of those.

  • its ok. completely understandable. i only knew that because i'm a big ford and car fan. i like to know what kinds of cars are sold around the world

  • because the ford hybrid is using Toyota Prius technology

    go find out the facts

  • Blue Book? Blue Boner!!

  • Doesn't the 2009 Toyota Rav4 limited have an avalible DVD navigation system also?

  • limited model has no nav system available. its available on the sport models (not the 2wd sport with the 4 cylinder, its available with the other sport models)

  • Ok thank u dude.

  • ur thinking of buying a RAV4? a compact suv that competes with a RAV4?

  • The new 09' Toyota Rav4 Sport and Limited get the touchscreen navigation optional

  • This is my next dream car!

  • lol it got voted best compact suv the forester came second but it's way better look it up

  • is this thing 4wd?

  • yes... it's 4wd, but i don't think you can disable it. My gf has an 2008 Rav4, and i haven't found the button :)

  • its regularly front wheel drive but u can get it 4wd if u want!

  • toobad, i dont really like fwd because of the understeer!!

  • and fwd will most likey get stick off road becuz the front of the car is propelling the car which means its pulling.

  • very nice car

  • mitsubishi outlander is really good too....jeep compass and chevy sux

  • compass is simply ugly! :)

  • Ford Escape and Toyota Rav4 are good looking suv's.

  • Your half right. I can't say I like ford, they are getting better but the explorer was horrible. Not sure if I can trust the escape I'ma going forester

  • I like Ford, but can't deny the fact that this thing is cheaper than the escape. Also the escape is very prone to theft.

  • hmm really why is that? don't they have the same security system? thanks

  • All it takes is a screwdriver, not sure how it doesn't prevent that.

  • And how does the toyota protect against a screw driver?

  • Both have a security system with a gizmo in the key that reflects a signal given by the car, when a person attempts to start the ignition on a car with something like this, if the key doesn't reflect the signal theoretically the engine shouldn't start. There's a minor "flaw" in the security on the Escape, but it's not an issue with the Rav4 to my understanding.

  • "this thing is cheaper than the escape"

this is a crossover, it's been built on a *CAR* platform.

FORD's crossover is the EDGE, not escape!

  • Yes, it looks different. So, I have heard that if you park it, so close mirrors automatically.

  • why you said that whats your complain

  • The 09 RAV4 looks different and has a more powerful, more efficient 2.5L I4

Its got 178 HP and 172 lb. of torque with 22/28 fuel economy

  • i thought i was 209 hp?

  • care to explain why? would be more useful to others.

  • is rav4 good car offroad.?

  • if that's too expensive for you, you're too poor to get a toyota.

you should get a cheap chrysler or a kia.
