  • Young Dom :')

  • amazing!! but I don´t hear this strings on the song.

  • is that mat 2nd from the left?

  • @doodadamlol no, its someone who incredibly looks like him though :)

  • @_@

  • thats very amazing!

  • For one moment

I wish you'd hold your stage

    With no feelings at all

    Open minded

I'm sure I used to be so free

  • they should make another version with strings.

  • @MattGuerry

muse - the making of united states of eurasia

    somewhere in the beginning

  • @MattGuerry

No, i remember him once sayin with a violin in his hands:

    oh, I can't play that

  • @MattGuerry could be i guess, he is classically trained at piano, violin however, im not sure. Although i do know Chris plays the double bass.

  • I still can't listen to them in the studio version -_- so I played the song along with this video XD

  • Wow! this is beautiful....and i never use that word lol

  • is this abbey road? looks like it

  • wow amazing !!!!

  • for one moment i wish you'd hold your stage...

  • Wow, I've never actually recognized them... *speechless*

  • fantastic, Muse should play CE with an orchestra live!!!

  • fuck, why I don't hear this in studio version? :(

  • @AmeliaRoss Because they evidently weren't included in the final mix. They were replaced with a synth in the end, which you can hear on the record.

  • you can hear the violins clearly on the studio version, in the solo part. :)

  • @killerkite333 That's a synth, I'm afraid.

  • @killerkite333 Yeah, that's not them playing. They chosed to not include the violin track in the final edit for some reason, so they used a synth.

  • I hope to hear it during the stadium tour. I deeply love this song.

  • well hi dom!

  • omfg, this is really good,i do no know why on earth they did not use it, but i would really like to see a cd from muse with all these backing orchestral tracks..THAT would beyond awe-some!

  • now that is pwoper music :D

and that is why we love Muse

  • They should make an S&M Album like Metallica, I'm sure it would sound awesome.

Check out the string covers of The Vitamin String Quartet, it sounds really good ;)

  • HaHA! Acoustic people. I knew they were in there somewhere. :-)

  • fantastic <333

  • BELLAMY IS GOD

  • OMG! Why didn't they use this? They should but out an alt. version!

  • @BeautifulTragedyx21 They use this, is in the track...

  • @Sevenchappels Oh my god! You're right...when he starts singing am I correct? Wow. I thought that was synth. They should have made them more dominant but I realize why they didn't. That just made that song that much more epic and it now gives them an excuse to perform this live with a full orchestra...(as they should Exogenesis and B&H.) Thanks for that.

  • @BeautifulTragedyx21 Is really cool, if you listen closely you can reconize softly the violins, you are right, It will be amazing to see them perform live with a full orchestra!

  • @Sevenchappels In the interview with Q magazine they say they want to have an orchestra at glastonbury so you never know

  • It is not on the final cut of the song, instead, is replaced by a much less powerful synth backing track. :( WHY DIDNT THEY PUT THIS ON????

  • @iNooBoiD If you play them together the different rythms dont match up well. somone has a video of them put together so you can see for yourself.

  • beautiful

  • Good decision not to put this on the final track, it would have taken away from the angry tone.

  • @manco82, I'm pretty sure it is in the final track... and it actually adds a lot. The song isn't necessarily angry, just loud and very full, and this violin part adds to that, unless if I'm mistaken.

  • omfg, i'm dying, seriously, this is so fantastic!

  • Is it dom there in the beginning?

  • @tordaro yes he is =)

  • Cool where is this from?:D

  • yes it's Dom!

  • EPIC

  • thats beautiful!

  • I LOVE CITIZEN ERASED

  • wow, thats nice, great sound

  • that is amazing!

  • never knew it had strings but there dam good

  • sounds great as a song on its own

  • If they back this song up with strings for the next tour (for Exogenesis, B&H, Hoodoo, etc) it will be incredibly epic.

  • epic its a little word

imagine the 3 exogenesis... with a huge orchest ...and matt in the middle...

    like portishead or bjork concerts....

ooooh a dream come true ... even better

i cant find the right word ( hehe probably coz my english sucks xD ) its too much

  • imagine they make this special concert playing all songs that have strings on them . with exogenesis, city of delusion, Hoodoo, Take a Bow, Feeling Good, Megalomania, Undisclosed Desires, United States Of Eurasia, MK Ultra, I Belong To You, Blackout, Butterflies & Hurricanes... and of course, make some new string arrangements for other songs!

  • Not forgetting united states of eurasia and blackout and even maybe others

  • Gah. Should be a Mellotron. ;)

  • fantastic!

  • It would be an honor to play violin for Muse...but because I only play trombone, perhaps one of these days they'll ask for a tromonist! and it could be me! haha

  • Thats what i thought about me playing the celo for them!

  • ....assurdo...

  • love that

  • i read on musewiki that matt can barely read music but who knows... it might be him on violin...

  • haha you read on musewiki? me too!!!! ahh wat a small world!

  • i can't hear strings on the album version =(

    "just" an organ

  • It's very synth sounding right in the start of the verse 1 vocals. I had to go back and check myself. LOL AWESOME footage

  • that's my dream right there. It would be so awesome to play the violin for a muse song...

  • That's Caroline Lavelle on Cello!

    She's very cool

  • This is the greatest! Also, guys, somewhere I did hear that Matt was going to learn how to play all the used stringed instruments so that he could write more of the songs from the upcoming album himself

  • Bellamy is a genius

  • on the origin of symmetry booklet it has the names of these people. matt probably wrote the strings stuff or had a big hand in it, but he certainly didnt play in this group.

  • matt bellamy doesn't play the violin.

  • He could if he wanted to :|

  • yet :)

  • beautiful...simply.

  • i dont ever recall matt ever mentioning him being able to play the violin....but its real pretty...

  • WOW D:

  • i dont think its Matt because he doesn't play the violin or the Cello.

but if he can.. well its never ever ever been mentioned

  • wow beautiful

  • Is it Matt or not in the middle?

  • By middle...I meant second from the right

  • Crap...3rd from right. I'm an idiot.

    Sorry x[

  • Yeah it definatly looks like Matt second from left

  • isnt it funny how dom never seems to age, and the only difference everytime i see him is he has different hair. anyone agree?:D

  • Looking at all those thumbs-up you got, i'd say that people agree :D

  • I guess so, but I've noticed he's lost a bit of puppy fat from the early days..awh ^^ But I totally agree with the hair thing, haha xD

  • noooo im not agree....its funny....because... he looks avery day more younger xD

  • Yeah but he's going bald aparently.

  • Where'd you hear that?

I'd say it's bullshit, his hair look pretty healthy to me in the most recent vid ;)

  • Chris said it , it's also on the muse wiki :)

He comes the hair to the front , you can actualy tel if you look closely sometimes.

  • @JamesCmuse seems like 89 people agree

  • @JamesCmuse haha, I think it's because muse are not humans :)

  • Please is anybody know - is it Matthew (second from left)? I am really interested in...:-) Because when he can play the violin - he can't be from our planet, he must be GOD! When somebody can play amazingly on guitar, piano and sings and play the violin he must unbelievably amazing!!!!!!! it's not possible - how can be somebody so perfect?:-O is it he?

  • No, Matt doesn't play the violin, which is one of the reasons why the three-part composition on the newest album is taking so much time--he's not used to composing for classical strings.

  • if you can play guitar, with a few days of practice you can play that song in violin. It's not that dificcult

  • Not that difficult??? HAHAHAHAHA Its one thing to switch from violin to guitar if you've had training on both instruments, but if you're saying that someone can just pick up a violin and sound like a qualified performer in a matter of days THATS JUST MADNESS!! lol You must be some kind of prodigy!

  • madness ?... THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • i loled

  • Yeah you cant just pick a violin and play it that well unless you had past pratice or a savant.

  • The most hardest part I think switching from guitar to violin, is the vibrato technique. I never trained for violin, but i can simply play some notes/parts. But playing a sequence with vibratos? Are you kidding?

  • not to mention i your tone will sound like shit because you won't know proper technique. sure its not the most complicated note patterns, but professional violinists could spend hours perfecting one held note.

  • so true so true, I'm a music performance major (violin/viola), and there is SO much I am learning in college about how the left and right hand techniques interact.. its amazing that people play the violin/viola/cello (ESPECIALLY THE CELLO). there is so much more than meets the eye, professionals make it look effortless.

  • aghh capitals :S

  • Ya really man, GOTTA work on capitalization.

  • Comment removed

  • oh the one with the violin? i have no idea. well if it turns out to be him.. i will actually believe that he is god.

  • I think I already do..

  • i think matts second from left, but i could be wrong.

  • yeah, I definitely think that matt's on violin as well, and I spent my entire past couple days searching up exactly which instruments he has the ability to play. I can't find any info saying that he can play violin, but hey...he's god, he can do anything.

  • well on wikipedia it says he writes all the strings parts himself, it also say he plays "strigs arangement" on the album origin of symetry so i reakon ya can say he plays alright

  • no dude.. that's dom :\

  • HOLY SHIT IS THAT MATT?!?!

  • Sorry but there's no more videos like this... just enjoy! :)

  • the best music ever...comes from..MUSE..

  • the first one looks like "bruxa do 71" from "el Chavo" ou o popular chaves, no Brasil.

  • That's Matt playing the violin!

  • well you dont need to play violin or a particular instrument to write a song.

as long as you write the notes of what to play you can compose an orchestra if you where patient enough.

  • -or is he really god? that would be the question... hehe...

-but very nice clip from the studio! I really like his composing skills!

  • matt seems god-like when you say it like that ;P

  • It sounds so beautiful I could cry....ha.

  • # lol

  • muse is genius

  • was this all composed by Matt?

    no doubt it was XD

  • Incredible... I just feel like in heaven. Each day i discover something new about Muse! This is music!

  • its in the mix starting at 1:26

never actually heard it before since i "saw" it here...

or is it just a keyboard?!?! who knows!

    greetz

    floling

  • It's not on the final mix.

  • even muse's music is amazing with classical instrumentation haha bravo, I loved this

  • Wow... Dom has such a baby face!

  • amazing..

  • That's gotta be Abbey Road Studios. I'm jealous.

  • no it's not... this is BEFORE Abbey Road sessions, because they were invite with the album BLACKHOLES AND REVELATIONS and this songs is before that album... this is just part of the song :D

  • Then maybe you can say what studio it is if you are so certain. It sure looks like Abbey Road Studio to me.

  • Real World Studio in Wiltshire as far as i know

  • really??? is that peter gabriels?

  • is who peter gabriels?

  • Real World Studio's is peter gabriels studio isn't it?

  • god knows. all i know is thats were origin of symmetery was recorded

  • that is not matt..matt cant playing violin..

  • you never know with bells ;D

  • the person in the middle, playing violin... is that matt bellamy?! looks a lot like him

  • oh my god!

i wish i can hear citizen erased violin version from muse!

    beautiful,amazing!

  • they may very well have worked on the track, if you listen to the track playing at the start, you can hear its a basic studio guideline where the piano is doubling the bass line. when you are in the studio recording an album which a producer that wants you to explore your own potential, you will sometimes record 2 or 3 versions of a track, each one with a different characteristic, just listen to time is running out. they recorded four versions of it.

  • is tht dom at the start?

  • yeah

  • thats so beautiful

  • "simply the best" xD

where can i get this?! must know! :P

    *Must love Muse*

  • I have 158 songs by Muse with probably 20-30 doubles, with Live or extended(new/old) versions. Aswell as the DVD's :) You could say I like Muse =P

  • I also have a collection similar to yours. Some of my friends think I have a problem, because when asked: "What's your favorite Muse song?" I always reply "Which song" (Yes I have favorite versions of many of their songs) and/or "Are you asking live or studio versions?"

I also can't wait for the Muse demo tape to become available on May 12th.

  • wait, what demo tape, i must hve it cna u give me info plz?

  • Muse tracks are about 200-300 on my Comp. my mates' also think i have a problem and I've been branded as a muse geek, which I'm quite proud of strangely.

  • OMG this is awsome playing!! love muse 4ever

  • Man I almost cried hearing that - but im a man grrrrrrrr

Very beautiful piece of classical music with a touch of Muse. I think there is or was meant to be a symphony album of Absolution, I know I have the instrumental one :)

    Love Blackout on it

  • wow! an instrumental version of absolution?

    where did you find that?

    i want it! :)

and yea this is a wonderful piece..

  • I got it from a special download torrent.

I have every piece of Muse that they have made, well almost :)

Blackout is by far my most favourite and I thank you for making me watching this video again :D

If you want the instrumental I can send it to you?

  • wow. that was so beautiful.

  • So beautiful.

  • this is beautiful..... they should have made a separte album strings on their own!

  • i think there is one

  • OMG there is a proper symphony album!? why did i not know this? is it meant to be a special edition?? what is it called??? i need to buy this!

  • its called something like strung out on muse. check it out, i heard it a while ago and it's pretty good

  • ok thank you! yeh, i fould starlight on "strung out" but is there any other songs that are done by the orchestra? Thank you! oh yeh and also, do you know what that demo tape is about?

  • is it by any chance the string quartet tribute to muse? sorry if i'm talking nonsense

  • No, this was recorded for the Citizen Erased's studio version of Origin of Symmetry but it didn't make it into the final recording

  • actually, my question was meant for

MichaelLeroi who mentioned something about "strung out on muse", i have no idea why my comment didn't show as a reply.

thanks for the reply, though, it was useful.

  • Haha sorry and you're welcome :)

  • I could have sworn i heard some very faint strings in the background, but i guess it was just me.

  • No one is credited in the Album booklet, so probably not :(

  • Makes sense. lol I wish they were in the song. Would have added to the Epic-ness of it.

  • With would have been great. So much class. Why on earth would they not put these in.

  • wow c'est...magnifique

  • No. The strings were originally going to be in the song, but were ultimately dropped. Apocalypse Please also originally had an orchestra that ended up being dropped.

  • The strings for Apocalypse Please were epic, though. You can hear them on the Aboslution DVD that came with the album.

  • Oh, I totally agree. They sounded awesome. I'd love to hear a version of the song with them.

  • He replaced the strings with like a guitar harmonizer, thats what he does live, vibratos 12/13/14 on A string

  • I hope muse gets more of things like this into their new album :) Its what makes them stand out :D

  • I have shamed myself...

  • Bless you. I just asked on the boards, as well as looking at musewiki and all over the place, and everyone says that they don't have strings.

If you think about it, why would Matthew put strings on a song if you couldn't hear them? There's just no sense in it!

    At least you know now!

What I think you might be hearing is a synthy-type affair that is meant to sound like the lower stringed instruments?
