  • If the US spends a greater percentage of their GDP but "smaller percentage of their budget" as compared to countries like Germany and France, it's just because their budget is overblown by the trillians of dollars they spend on wars. That would make any other expense look small.

How is it their politicians can continue to attack the cost of health care as unfeaible and the discussion never reaches bomb budgets?!? Everything else pales by comparison!

  • She's an idiot. Can't believe I put her in the spank bank..... wait yeah I can.

  • Liberals are just disgusting to witness. If you added up all the brainpower at that table you couldn't power a nightlight. Bunch of feminized, weak, pseudoscientific idiots living on the graces of the real men and women that stand guard so these idiots can make a mockery of freedom.

I can't wait for the day when the soldiers say "these pukes aren't worth defending anymore"

On that day you will see how spineless these worthless bastards really are-as are the ones that subscribe to their idiocy.

  • @commonsensrules ha ha ha TWO comments and not ONE fact to back you up! ha ha ha it's the conservative way!

  • It's called being a hypocrite. I'll talk shit about you when you're not close, but not to your face. Where i come from we call that a weasel. Then we get a studio full weasels applauding.

Thats whats wrong with this country. Bill Maher is a self outted weasel and americans applaud.

I would love to be depending on him when the shit hits the fan-too many fucking idiots in this nation today.

  • look, it basically boils down to the fundamental rule of democratic systems. The politics of the country is only as good, only as informed, only as efficient, and only as just, as the citizens who make it work. The American people need to decide that doing the right thing is hard, it requires thought, and it requires careful, thoughtful deliberation. None of the country's problems can be solved through spending or austerity alone. It's more than economics. It's politics.

  • The success of the "American Dream" during the second half of the 20th Century was NOT due to free market capitalism. It was the product of a MIXED-MARKET ECONOMY. Read about it!

  • Jesus! That silly bitch from CNBC just couldn't be MORE wrong. This is why intelligent people are NOT this kind of "conservative".

You're allowed your own opinions, not your own facts. Healthcare is MORE expensive in the US BECAUSE of the smaller amount the government pays. Privatizing it even more would only make it more expensive. It's private healthcare that's the problem you stupid, stupid woman.

Quit drinking the kool-aid for 10 seconds and use your damn brain.

  • What a STOOPID bitch!

  • Michelle Caruso-Cabrera needs to wear the shirt that says 'I wish these were brains' on its chest.

  • Capitalism made this country great. And it did so my enslaving hundreds of thousands of black people and stealing the fruits of their labor. That is capitalism. You don't get to pick out the "nice" things and ignore the "not so nice" things. One group of capitalists (northern industrialists) eliminated slavery (supported by the slave-o-crat Democrats) and replaced it with wage slavery. There is nothing good about capitalism today. It's outlived its progressive character.

  • choking? really? I'm Swedish. We have medicare for everyone and i think that is wonderful.

  • Bill Maher is a sexist pig. He hates unborn women.

  • Kevin Smith didn't know anything about the question he was asked and didn't try to make up some lame rant ... gotta respect that .... too bad more people these days don't just shut up when they have no information or understanding of what they are talking about.

  • Be a good republican, turn your head when you see starving people on the street, do not flinch when people fall down sick in front of you. Pass by their rotting corpses and say it is not my responsibility. Laugh when families lose their houses, and snicker, the race goes to the swiftest. And glut yourself in self indulgence because you know there is no God and you will get away with it. Or will you! Will you??????????

  • I get paid $8.50/hour at best buy while Justin Beiber got paid over $1 mil. for 2 days of filming super bowl commercial with my company. I pay $500+ a month in bills without cable or internet (I use college CPs) + living expenses. I pay $3,500 tuition every 5 months + $500 in books (used). I ride the bus because I can't afford a car and my future job opportunities look bleak. Yep, living the 'American Dream'.

  • @wojovox I've seen your other youtube videos / comments, and you seem to be extremely bright, and hard working...doing school and work is a real challenge. It's only a matter of time and opportunity, before you rise steadily above 8.50/hr. Celebrities (Ellen, Howard Stern, Jersey Shore, Kardashians, etc, etc) all get WAAAAAY too much money for doing very little (relatively). So, I choose not to passively participate in watching television and its endless commercials, aimed to get at my money.

  • @fvalen001

thank you....and thank for not pointing out that I comment on 'stupid videos' too. I have an internal locus of control and know I can make a difference, but we were born into this world. I didn't decide what I had to contend with. I'm not so worried about celebrities as I am Hedge fund managers and CEOs of large corporate business. John Paulson made $5 billion when we entered our recession on short-selling of subprime mortgages.. I'm worried about capitalism overall.

  • @wojovox U can aspire for the white picket fence, not the penthouse in new york. We live in a society where the kids got a trophy for last place, that generation grew up and that is why we all want to live in that penthouse. It takes responsibility and time to succeed.

  • @tra12345iscool

responsibility and time? Did you not read the name I pointed out? What's just about a kid making millions? I'm speaking out against capitalism. I don't want shit, fuck the penthouse and the fence. I've always wanted to be a scientist and work for progress for our present and future. speaking of penthouse, did you hear about the teen that now lives in the most expensive one in NY, bought by her father. $88 mil. Time and responsibility......ha.

  • @wojovox well get an education or get some job skills...........

  • @lilbeaveymac

My comment makes it clear that I'm currently in school. The average America income is $25,000 (Huffington Post). The 'American dream' has changed drastically and at the root of these changes is our system (Capitalism). We need to implement alternative ideas to provide for more equality amongst our people. I am studying in hopes of one day becoming an Astronomer. Yet, someone like Snooki, Justin Beiber, or John Paulson will be rewarded by the system instead.

  • @wojovox Whilst the British are awake aware that everyone in Britain is Fucked but still find times to sneer at the Americans in the typical and cynical fashion that the Brits always do have a rant about it..... and whenever a British person becomes outraged by Bieber; then they write a letter of complaint saying that his music is crap and is causing them ear damage... Generally speaking.

  • @ecos889

I don't blame Bieber nor would I want to file a complaint on Bieber himself. We need to find the deeper arguments in our complaints. In this case I blame the music industry for being merely for protit rather than for art and I blame capitalism for such atrocities allowed to occur. Many great artist go unoticed because they don't have a corporation full of money spreading their sound.

  • Kennedy was far more liberal than Obama..and so was Lincoln.

  • What happens when a person is full of shit? Just look at the lady here. The shit starts comming out of her mouth.

  • To echo the last few comments, the european countries she listed as 'choking' are not, simply nodding and saying absolutely does not make it so! In britain we value and cherish the NHS. On average we pay higher taxes but it worth it for the services our country provides.

  • I'd just like to clarify to Americans - Britan is NOT choking and the NHS is sacred over here, we pay tax to fund it and by doing so it ensures everyone is entitled to FREE TOP QUALITY health care.

  • This is one of the best Episodes I've seen so far ...

  • no one is choking, except Ireland, Greece, Spain

  • te government can solve most things, conservatives just want corporate control over everything - profit $ above all else is their motto

  • The idea that it's govt. vs business misses the point entirely. The real issue of govt. involvement in economics is that it is almost ALWAYS the result of industry lobbying and the deals made to feather the nests of the corporations who then disingenuously complain about the regulation. That's the truth no one is willing to voice. It goes back to corporate personhood, Bill's no# 1 issue in the event of a constitutional convention.

  • I came name five presidents who were more liberal (in terms of economic policy than Obama): FDR, Lyndon Johnson, JFK, Harry Truman, and Dwight Eisenhower

  • @scw3967 in most respects nixon was more liberal too. he was an early supporter of welfare and workers rights

  • These so called "conservatives" don't give a good God damn about the budget. It's all about hurting and humiliating poor people to feel better about themselves and for their own advantage.

  • How does she get air time?

  • Michelle Caruso-Cabrera...Boobs compensate for brains...typical.

  • that woman has great tits

    oh my god

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad You make shit up to cover LIES!! Fuck you for perpetuating fraud against the American public!

  • @lhooq21 Yea, yea, yea.

Go look at kpp.org. Just short of 50% of US health care is paid for by a government check of some sort, and it's been like that for a decade.

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad I looked it up and its a pure lie!! Your facts a off and your a lier trying to help people who ripped off America!! FUCK YOU

  • I am from Germany and The USA arent as good as they think ;)

  • @shohchkheh Actually a lot of Americans are as good as they make you think. The difference with USA and Germany is that US has about 4x as many people but the ones you see or hear from a bit too often are the numskulls.

  • Fiscal restraint is the tool big money uses to control the public. The banks took the money, austerity cuts extra money available

  • Michelle Caruso-Cabrera is a fucking idiot.

  • @Gavrillo Yes, and yet she remains on the air, for two very obvious reasons...

  • if you only buy car insurance because you have to, you're a moron.

  • americans apparently don't have the slightest idea what health-care systems outside of the us are like.

please, if you can afford it: step out of your country. learn a foreign language and at least try to understand another culture.

how can one claim to live in the best country of the world without other countries to compare it to?!?

  • I love the woman's final point about budgets. It comes from a right wing point of view that simply assumes that taxes are bad. I pay a "tax" of nearly $400/mo. for fairly lousy health insurance - this is just for myself. For good insurance that would be more like $700/mo. If we had a $280/head tax (less than we pay now) we would raise over 1 TRILLION a year to our budget. THAT would pay for national healthcare PLUS.

  • @pdoylemi the financial crisis was caused by deregulation, she is full of BS

  • Health Care could end much of the financial problems

  • Health Care could end much of the financial problems

  • @lhooq21 What deregulation, specifically? Are you aware that the bubble in home prices started in 1997? So, what deregulation from prior to that period kicked off the financial crisis?

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad Glass Steagal and Brentton woods

Hypocrites take advantage of society as much as the poor and crooked welfare frauds. They truly believe taking care of the rich will take care of the people in this country. That worked so great that we are in deficit and China owns us with bonds they bought for years. At the same time, we lost jobs to over seas.

  • @lhooq21

G-S regulated banks only. The crisis didn't come from the banks, it came from the broker-dealers (Bear. Lehman) and AIG.

BW is a much larger matter, and we mayhave some agreement. But you're now going back in time to the early 70's.

The rich aren't the issue; the issue is that the rich get rich by giving the rest of us jobs. There is no scenario imaginable where the people prosper, but the "rich" and the "corporations" do not prosper. We rise and fall together.

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad your playing a bullshit game

Banks invented ways to gamble with the publics money and the details of G.S. and B.W. are not the issue fuck face. 7.7 trillion ripped off from the American public is the issue!

  • @lhooq21 You said it was GS, now it's not? :-)

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad GS plus expansion to cover the new areas of fraud. So run along now little boy.....

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad YOU HATE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC?!?

  • @lhooq21 I AM the american public, born in the USA, as American as apple pie.

  • The reason you have to buy you own car insurance is because, if you can't afford it, you walk, it's that simple. Health insurance is not the same, if you have cancer or a tumor, you can't just walk it off, there is no alternative when it comes to medicine like there is with not having a car.

  • @lhooq21 Not sure why your comment showed in my in box and not but who cares. Another dick wad puts in his two cents when they are broke. So I'll save myself some time and tell you the same thing. FUCK OFF ASSHOLE!!

  • @owned7770 Fuck you asshole. Didn't ask for your sympathy dick head. The initial surgery wiped out the 145000 in savings we had. The only option was to start selling off assets to stop the bill collectors. We paid for everything out of pocket even though we were paying $287 a week for insurance. And as I recall, it wasn't you I was talking to in the first place. So as I said. FUCK OFF ASSHOLE!!

  • bill maher is intelligent but doesn't understand economics at all

  • Try Australia we're not choking

  • What country is this woman living in? The more she talked the more I wondered what reality she is living in.

  • @drownoble If you have to ask, you're right --- it's certainly not the one you're in.

Her's is called "cold, hard, factual reality."

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad Watch the whole video. Obama is not "the most liberal president", just cuz he reformed healthcare. She thinks if there was no Medicare that it would cost less for me to buy my own healthcare? She thinks every major democratic country on the planet with national healthcare is "wrong" because their economies are "choking"? What did she base that off of? Last I checked Canada wasn't on the verge of financial ruin due to healthcare.

  • @drownoble I did, BO passed the largest social program EVER, a huge > to Medicaid, regulated banks, and been playing private equity w/ taxpayer $ investing NOT in sound business plans, but stuff he ideologically likes.

Canada is good now because they've spent a decade + reforming to free markets and lower taxes and regs.

A nation has no right to promise services for which it cannot pay. Apparently you disagree.

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad Medicare Part D, passed by George W Bush, social program. Gov't bailout of Wall Street signed by Bush, THAT is something that shouldn't of been paid for by our taxes. Oh and that little war he started by borrowing billions from China. So again, your facts are somewhat skewed as Obama again has not passed the largest social program ever.

  • @drownoble Not just Canada. Here in Australia we have a healthcare system similar to Canada and our economy has never been stronger. Our dollar is continually breaking records and our unemployment rate is very low. We also have a lot of other socialist programs to go with health care. This myth that socialism causes bankruptcy is garbage. Health care isn't what's bankrupting USA the illegal occupation of foreign countries that cost trillions of dollars a year is what's doing it.

  • @youbetzler I agree that the wars Bush started were the biggest factor. Of course here we have other issues like before our healthcare wasn't standardized. Meaning a treatment will vary in cost depending on the insurance you have (or don't). Plus the richer you are the more tax breaks you get, cuz our conservatives think if someone making $20 mil a year gets a bigger tax break that somehow helps me.

  • capitalism is based on unfairness. how are u gonna get a fair system that way? and even if u could, evryones businesses would have to be deadlocked, and even if you consider that acceptable, it would render the use of money pointless to the point where there's no reason to even call it capitalism, it would be identical to socialism.

everyone just doing their jobs, getting exactly the money they need, never any extra.

BUT, respecting propery rights, so its national socialism.

    NaZi ism literally

  • The women in the red repeats a fictional story about the economy. Her solutions have been tried for the last 30 years and they have not worked, simple math.

  • @lhooq21 not true Keynesian economics has been used since the 1970s there has not been one example in the american economy of true classical free market.... what the fuck do americans think conservatives are??? the republicans are liberals and so are the democrats you need more options because your getting fucking destroyed by your stupid ass system

  • @owned7770 Our current economic woes have nothing to do with Keynesian economics, Radical deregulation is the problem and the rest of your comment seems to make no sense....... Every time we move towards deregulation we get a financial crisis, can you do this math?!?

  • @lhooq21 no your economic woes start with spending money. The war and deregulation didn't cause this downturn pure stupidity on the parts of your citizens and your banking system that's why you had a downturn. I agree that there has to be some regulation like banking controls and maybe a national housing agency (which you still don't have) but budget deficits and regulation aren't the answer to everything as you are witnessing right now bush, clinton and obama are fucking economically challenged

  • @owned7770 YOU are sad and wrong, again go back and do the simple math, unless it cramps your time kissing corporate ass... The banks ripped off the American public to the tune of 7.7 billion because of lack of banking controls. So piss off with your fux news fantasy and America will do fine.....

  • @lhooq21 7.7 trillion to the banks

  • @lhooq21 yeah the banks did rip off your money.... And lets be honest people taking poor mortgages and banks selling these mortgages is the American public's fault and the government this doesn't have anything to do with the banks screwing you as a consumer the expectation is that you do research on the goods that your purchase you don't buy things without knowing all the options. I'm a libertarian and I'm not an American I don't like the Republicans or the Democrats they are both stupid

  • @owned7770 wow how many accounts are you working troll?!?

  • Comment removed

  • @owned7770 The banks took 7.7 trillion because the government was bought! Your a fool if you cant see this situation, seriously your a fool!

  • @lhooq21 Not correct. Regulation is SUPPOSED to be a nonpolitical neutral. You regulate what you need and nothing else. The problem in the US is that regulation has become political, the left saying more is better, the right saying less is better. Neither is true; NOR is it true that dereg always leads to financial crises. (Canadian banks, which did not participate in our financial crisis, were less regulated than US banks even BEFORE Dodd-Frank. Explain that.)

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad

You are defending FRAUD is that political?!? YES it stands for the politics of the BANKS who stole 7.7 trillion from the US public, so regulation in anti fraud, if this againt someones politics its there problem. Do you know that the the ratings agencies rated mortgage co-lateralized risks AAA?!?! Now thats FRAUD againts the people they sold it too!! Thats FRAUD

  • God damn it. Now I want to know who the "one guy"" was & what he did...

  • @s9z9s The first thing to go was the farm (literally). The next was our home in Nebraska and the cabin in Montana. Then I had to sell the trucking business. Now I work for someone else. We live in a 600sqft mobile in a shithole trailer park in Idaho and drive a rusted out 89 van. So my comment to you and your moronic view of how great the capatilist system is this. FUCK YOU AND THE EVIL MONEY HUNGRY DOCTORS AND INSURANCE COMPANYS. HOPE YOU ALL DIE PAINFULLY LONG DEATHS BLEEDING OUT THE ASS!!!!!

  • @hrsqsiest should have saved some money dipshit i feel no sympathy to your cause you should of protected your assets....

  • @s9z9s Fuck the health care system in the US. When my daughter was diagnosed with a heart condition, the insurance company refused to cover it. The doctors referred us to a specialist in Canada. (they didn't want to treat her if they weren't sure they would be paid) We now have to drive her into Canada twice a month for treatment and check ups. All the expense comes out of our pockets. And yes, I do pay what I can to the doctor but I don't have to.

  • They all didn't know shit! damn. Maher, you disappoint me yet again.

  • @FoldedTapestry what a good name!! folding is the essence of pattern!

    folded apestry indeed

  • @natmanprime Not sure if sarcasm or?

  • @FoldedTapestry no sarcasm. its revelation

  • I just wish there was no audience....

  • my goodness this woman has no clue! Yes Germany spends a high amount of money on health care! Yes our system needs reform too! But it works since the time of Bismarck and through 2 World Wars! Same with our pension system! If you have to spend more money on pensions and health care because of demographic problems like Germany has to! You have to become more productive and efficient to afford it! For that you have to educate your People better which we germans try to do while USA is failing hard

  • liberal is american - stay out of my life and ill stay out of yours and let things anything that involves God be between me and God

  • You know, I usually hate bill o' reily, but watched that interview, and i dont think he was very disrespectful at all. In fact I was surprised at how cordial and friendly they were with eachother :P

  • This show demonstrates what is so laughable about liberals crying about Fox News bias. It is a perfect example of the former standard media template for panel discussions that existed for decades prior to Fox News: have 5 liberals and one so called "conservative" and have all the liberals beat up on the weak so called "conservative". No one seemed to care about this unfairness for all those years. Now that Fox News flipped it, Liberals have a big problem with unfairness in the media. LMAO

  • If the government weren't involved it'd be cheaper and more affordable? Are you kidding me? When private industry gets to run wild that's when these things get out of control.

  • @DeathBringer769

Competition drives prices down. That's basic economics.

  • Did Mahar just seriously say talking behind someones back is more respectful than in their face? I'm with Mahar on 98% of the things he says but this is a little odd.

  • @MiloDaemon Sort of but not quite, what he was saying is that when you are with the President you must respect the "office" if not the positions that particular person holds.

  • Socialism was a POSITIVE development in Europe, it repaired many problems and constructed a stronger system. America just has a problem with it because communism devoloped from socialism. But communism is extreme socialism, they took it too far.

  • @SilverHaze284

    DAMN NIGGA!

how is that relevant to this?

  • @hardstyle19970 It´s not. but if my comment bother you, sorry i didnt mean to.

  • @SilverHaze284

    don worry it didnt

i was just being a dick

  • if that chick had an incurable illness just after CNBC fired her and she lost her insurance, and she had to undergo 30,000 worth of chemo every month, then all the saving she had in her life of chattering wouldnt save her. Medical care prices have gotten so out of hand anybody without insurance or with poor ins. coverage is just DEAD. and to think that evbd can buy their own insurance is just crazy. its a death sentence for the unemployed and those whose coverage was dropped on diff pretenses

  • @MrDuloxetine Today, yes. BUT, that's not MCC's point --- her POINT is that if you look at the statistics, the start of health care insurance costs skyrocketing was when Medicare was established. If you pull the government out of health care, costs will come down over time.

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad A) correlation =/= causation, meaning that cost increases might very well have other reasons, like people live longer, but not healthier (more and more illnesses become non-leathal, but still are not cureable).

    B) European countries mostly have universal healthcare and costs are HALF of those in the USA with no negative effects on wellness and living expectations. They actually do better.

  • @EquinoxIV To your first point, no objection. These are complex matters.

HOWEVER, the larger issue is that the metric which you are using, Healthcare$/GDP, is NOT the only metric that matters. MCC's made the point to Tabibi that GDP IS NOT GOVT REVENUE. Our tax receipts are in the neighborhood of 2.2T, while HC costs are about 100% of that; the rest comes from patient contribution and borrowing. That''s bad, but in Europe, the situation is even worse.

  • @KhadijahbintMuhammad The money ALWAYS comes from the people, it's just a question of who pays how much and has access to what. Call it taxes, call it premium or whatever. So GDP as a measure of the overall wealth is a very good baseline, especially if you compare first world countries with mostly the same standards of care. Just for reference, in Germany almost everybody has access to all the essential HC services, at half the costs per capita. The opposit of worse.

  • that chick is HOTT..

  • Look at Canada you moron from CNBC..

  • @alboss13 And even from here, we should begin to look towards France.

  • @darthbentley I'm talking about higher education. I totally reflect the premise that u can judge how effective the higher Ed system is by the number of people that graduate. An American studying in Argentina is a cultural exp an Argentinean studying in US is a learning experience.

  • I think we have (or had) the right idea w/a system where for profit competes w/federal; i.e public option. When u look around the 2 (and only 2) things we still dominate are education and mail service (Being from ARG I'm sure u'll grant this). No way in hell ARG universities hold a candle 2 ours, sorry.

  • @psistarpsi80

*higher education. k-12, we're fucked man

  • @psistarpsi80 we don't dominate in education. We may have more people graduating colleges but not the most (5th) which a study showed recently, but it included AA and BA . Which are easy to get.Test scores Have been horrible in the U.S for years. We may have better med schools, engineering schools but a lot of those graduates are not from the U.S. Also the fact the U.S. has a higher population you would expect a greater number of grads.

  • @Riabuchinska Having been many times to Argentina's main university, let me tell u a bit bout it. 1) Literly the dirtiest place I have Eva been. 2) Classes r HUGE profs don't care 3) No major priv universities.

  • @psistarpsi80 Beeing a former UBA student, let me tel YOU a bit about it: yes you won't be pampered there, yet you will get the most and better info in every subject. Profs don´t care? so you say, they work hard for no much of a profit. Not only we get a good education, also learn how to THINK with a critical mind. Taking bruming as a mesure of quality of education certainly shows your own poor level of reasoning. Maybe because of your education system?

  • Looking back, I feel great disgust at all the Teabag defenders who acted as if the Teabaggers gave a crap about fiscal responsibility. All Teabaggers have done is spread fiscal irresponsibility by causing short term gains in the form of tax cuts for the wealthy by damaging long term viability by hurting wages, hurting education, hurting health care, hurting emergency services, all the while using social issues to hide their stupidity.

  • capitalism made the country great and is now taking it down

  • @girlcalledaish...

    Capitalism made it great.

    Unrestrained capitalism fucked it up.

Too much of anything but pussy will kill you.

  • @5150jafo

    economists differ on this point

some say its capitalism without regulation that fucks it up

and some say its capitalism with regulation that fucks it up

  • @girlcalledaish...

I think the ones who say "its capitalism without regulation that fucks it up" have proven their point.

  • @5150jafo

and i think the ones who say 'capitalism has failed' have proven their point

  • Obama the most liberal president we ever had?

    Lol try FDR

  • Obama is nowhere near the most liberal POTUS the US has ever had, this guy couldn't be more of a centrist if he tried. Empty talking points are just that: empty.

  • Comment removed

  • that woman is being very dishonest, of course the US government spends less in there budget for health care then countries that have a government health care program, but Americans still pay twice what other countries have to pay for health care, just because its not filtered through the government and instead goes through insurance companies is really besides the point. the fact insurance companies pay people to figure out ways of not having to pay and make huge profits is the problem.

  • France has minor issues due to a minimum pension age of 55, not because of their health care. Germany has no problems, they just wish to make their systems even more efficient. The UK has some minor problems, but that is linked to a declining export, and decrease in productivity.

Norway has a ton of problems because we tried making it stricter, and only ended up with a bureaucracy that is choking the system.

The US is the country in the world with least healthcare per buck. PERIOD.

  • Bill Maher is an idiot who clearly knows nothing about Health Care, the government, the constitution, or the financial market, but .... I do have to give him credit for his opening comments about O'Reilly interviewing Obama and showing respect for the office weather you agree with the president or not. Respect was given to Carter who financially damaged the US to the same degree if not worse than Obama has, but people still had the class to show respect for him.

  • *looks in the distance* Well said Bill well said....

  • I am so fucking tired of americans telling me how bad my fucking health care system is, when they don't know what the fuck they are talking about. I live in "socialist" Canada, and if healthcare was not done by the government, I would fucking move to another country. the day Canada loses medicare is the day I become a frenchmen. Au Revoir mes amis. (gotta work on my french.)

  • @darkmantlestudios Well, if people in the US don't like our health care system then they should move to Canada. While I do admit it has its flaws, I like the health care system in the US. It has helped me a bunch even though I come from a lower middle class family.

  • @whyamimrpink78 hellyeah brother if they dont like america they can giiiit ouut woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • @darkmantlestudios Yes but whats good for Canada is not necessarily good for the US. The main problem with US healthcare is liability (i.e. mal practice insurance). Lawsuits etc ... are out of control in the healthcare industry, you can get sued for ordering an x-ray as well as for not ordering an x-ray (or other tests). Obama's plan basically just takes government money and pays off mal practice insurance lawyers. That is very very different from government run medicine in Canada.

  • @darkmantlestudios Bravo and the same here from "socialist" Denmark !

  • @darkmantlestudios because the truth is the majority of americans are dumb.. simple. I mean look at the tea party, and it actually has a widespread support? I mean really? It's a joke. I think of of the G8, we are the only ones that does not have a government run health care system

  • @darkmantlestudios Canada rocks, let the Americans talk. Canada has a better system, yet always gets too little credit. For example, the Americans get almost the only credit for freeing European countries in WOII, while my country (Holland) was mostly freed by the Canadese. Also, America thinks they are so wealthy (compared to Canada) while the Canadian dollar is currently worth so much more than the American dollar. (sorry for the long story)

  • @darkmantlestudios

If Canadians were satisfied with their healthcare, which do you have private clinics opening up, and wealthy Canadians going down to the US for medical treatment?

  • @s9z9s Our Medical system does not cover absolutly every procedure, and there are many gliches in it also....but when push comes to shove it does function well. Yes a lot of people do go to the US for medical care, they also go to India, and other countries. So we do have a kind of two tiered system.

  • @eaks52

Well with our horrible, evil, racist free market healthcare system, no one ever has to leave the country for any operation. When there's demand, the market provides. We're also never put in waiting lines, and aren't forced to pay out of our own pockets for the open heart surgery and lung transplant of a couple of Somalian immigrants who just stepped off the boat. At least, all of this is how it was before Obamacare fully kicks in.

  • @s9z9s they still have to leave for treatment of MS. I think your irrationality is showing. the market isn't out to help people, it's out to make money, and if there's more money in having people sick all the time, everyone will be sick all the time.

  • @s9z9s Notice you said "wealthy" Canadians. The American system is only good for the very rich who can afford to pay thousands of dollars out of hand. the VAST majority, of Canadians prefer the Canadian health care system, I'm sorry, but the USA's system just seems barbaric to every Canadian I have ever talked to, save one, and he was a wealthy engineer. Canadian hospitals won't give you huge suites and special care just cause you're rich, they treat all equally. Rich people hate that.

  • @darkmantlestudios

What you call barbaric, I call individualism; ie people being responsible for themselves and not expecting others to owe them anything. Now, we don't let people bleed out on the street. Hospitals are going bankrupt on the border because they're forced to treat illegal aliens who can't pay for it. But don't expect me to be responsible to pay for someone else's heart transplant if they've been drinking milkshakes and eating french fries their whole life.

  • @s9z9s Like I said, barbaric, listen to yourself. The game BioShock provides a pretty good view of what an individualist society would devolve into, although it is fictional, it's pretty accurate I think. It's all fine and dandy for a little while, and then greedy people fuck everyone over. when healthcare is profit driven, more and more are suddenly "unhealthy".

  • @darkmantlestudios

Well thanks for unwittingly confirming that yes, leftists adopt whatever political views the media and entertainment industry is telling them is trendy and cute at the given time. Have you ever wondered about the fact that Hollywood and your left-wing teachers have been telling you how horrible capitalism and corporations are since you were little despite that all of the worst suffering in history has been caused by government?

  • @s9z9s Aha... ahahaha.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Shit America must be so different outside of Arizona. I guess our role models and society don't enforce values that keep that society stronger and alive, but the exact opposite; I'm going to have to let my professor know he's been wrong the entire time about societies and that I'm on to his left-wing bull shit.

  • @s9z9s Also, other countries may offer treatments Canada doesn't. For example, finland (IIRC) is developing new technology to fight MS, but it hasn't made it's way to other countries yet (including USA) so many people, Americans and Canadians both, with MS are headed to Finland to get the treatment. But more often than not it's an issue of privilege, that renting of a whole floor by some pregnant celebrity shit just wouldn't fly here, but in the state, money will get anything for you.

  • @s9z9s Oh, final point, I can't speak for every where, I have ot looked into it enough, but where I live, ALL the private clinics accept medicare, so we still have the government health insurance no matter where we go. almost all families also have a "family" doctor who accepts patients, again still covered by medicare. If I don't want to go to the hospital, but instead a clinic or family doctor, I'm still covered. sorry for the triple reply, but I just remembered a bunch of shit
