@noxibel1 I read up at the Assembly's site and some "medicine 101" resources. I can see where Milavin's coming from but the wording definitely has to be reworked. Without clearcut definitions of the terms used in the bill it's no good. For one, if anyone promotes pedophilia to my child - I want them persecuted under the Criminal Code, not Administrative. And if someone promotes sex to my child, I want them persecuted regardless of who they sleep with - gisgender, transgender, aliens...

Children should not be exposed to propaganda, regardless of its cause. Regarding TV etc. - that's why they have ratings and watershed, and parents have brains. I'm against advertising sex to children. I think children should be informed about sex according to their age and psychological maturity. So if society lets them have families, they make just as large a contribution to it as you and I. And vice versa, adopted children naturally become part of their parents' culture. In fact, I'm straight but I know shamefully little about my ethnic heritage. Sexuality and cultural heritage are two overlapping but quite diffferent issues.

@noxibel1 I read up at the Assembly's site and some "medicine 101" resources. I can see where Milavin's coming from but the wording definitely has to be reworked. Without clearcut definitions of the terms used in the bill it's no good. For one, if anyone promotes pedophilia to my child - I want them persecuted under the Criminal Code, not Administrative. And if someone promotes sex to my child, I want them persecuted regardless of who they sleep with - gisgender, transgender, aliens...

@Volchishko The bill is flawed and anti-constitutional. It should be re-worked to at least draw a line between propaganda and fair information. Children should not be exposed to propaganda, regardless of its cause. Regarding TV etc. - that's why they have ratings and watershed, and parents have brains. Regarding the streets - in fact, there's not enough of "gayish rubbish" from where I'm standing to justify this much fuss. If something bothers me, I ask people to stop *politely*.

@Volchishko It's not a law yet. And yes, I read it, the bill's on public domain. And I agree with you up to a point. I think we talk about the same problem but attach different labels to it. I'm against advertising sex to children. I think children should be informed about sex according to their age and psychological maturity. Under no condition must they be coerced into sex in any form or shape, gay or straight. I don't see why the bill singles out one group and not the other.

So if society lets them have families, they make just as large a contribution to it as you and I. And vice versa, adopted children naturally become part of their parents' culture. In fact, I'm straight but I know shamefully little about my ethnic heritage. Sexuality and cultural heritage are two overlapping but quite diffferent issues.

I find it sad that Russian politics is so discriminating and homophobic to make any mention of LGBT in Russian media illegal, it really upsets me. @angelpbj I honestly don't know how you could've expected anything good from Putin. The man has no respect for democracy or human rights. It's sad to know that politicians like him have so much power to hurt others :(
