I just figured out who she was. I know her from movies like A Bronx Tale and The Salon with Vivica Fox. Didn't know she was a singer, although I had seen her album cover before...duh for me ...but she certainly beautiful!
I first saw this on HBO and couldn't stop talking about her voice but didn't know who she was until I was describing her to a friend who worked at Motown. On her 21st birthday I happened to be standing in the lobby at Motown and she walked walked in? My friend introduced me but didn't tell say who I was meeting. As she walked, I said ''wasn't that.." and my friend said "yes that was Taral Hicks". What I wouldn't give to take back that half lame handshake or to have a chance to meet her again.

I've always Liked Taral Hicks and everything she made. She can really sing but her sister D'Atra Hicks can't (Madea plays. What's Done in The Dark Nurse Trudy). There's a BIG difference in their voices!
Before you count out D'Atra Hicks look at a few more performances check out "Maintenance Man" "Madea Family Reunion" the chic got pipes and a 5 or 6 range octave, Now I have seen her perform live and she has done well also i have seen her perform and she was horse and it was OK!!! but check out a few other performances be 4 u strike her out.
I have seen ALL of her performances I have "The Maintenance Man" on DVD and in MY OPINION she can't sing I've seen her perform live as well and that's why she don't sound so good to me.
OK I understand she just not your cup of tea... She reminds me of a lot of old school singers that why I like her.A lot of these new singers have the lyrics and the beats , but NOT the vocals!!!! A lot of them sound so bubble gum !!!! Well I c ya point !!!!

I first saw this on HBO and couldn't stop talking about her voice but didn't know who she was until I was describing her to a friend who worked at Motown. On her 21st birthday I happened to be standing in the lobby at Motown and she walked walked in? My friend introduced me but didn't tell say who I was meeting. As she walked, I said ''wasn't that.." and my friend said "yes that was Taral Hicks". What I wouldn't give to take back that half lame handshake or to have a chance to meet her again.

I remember this vid! itz so old. She should have made it. she is better than the Mariah's and Whitney's and Mary J's of the world. This is what happens when U get a bad manager. What a waste of talent. she should have been one of the great one... timeless vocals.... TIMELESS!

I agree her and her sis D'Atra are talented and it seems as if they fell victim of a poor manager. No promotion!!!! raw talent like Taral, D'Atra,and even Syleena Johnson you will slip through the cracks and become an after thought

I've always Liked Taral Hicks and everything she made. She can really sing but her sister D'Atra Hicks can't (Madea plays. What's Done in The Dark Nurse Trudy). There's a BIG difference in their voices!

Before you count out D'Atra Hicks look at a few more performances check out "Maintenance Man" "Madea Family Reunion" the chic got pipes and a 5 or 6 range octave, Now I have seen her perform live and she has done well also i have seen her perform and she was horse and it was OK!!! but check out a few other performances be 4 u strike her out.

I have seen ALL of her performances I have "The Maintenance Man" on DVD and in MY OPINION she can't sing I've seen her perform live as well and that's why she don't sound so good to me.

OK I understand she just not your cup of tea... She reminds me of a lot of old school singers that why I like her.A lot of these new singers have the lyrics and the beats , but NOT the vocals!!!! A lot of them sound so bubble gum !!!! Well I c ya point !!!!

Yeah, I have taken NYC transit. I live there! And like I said, I wouldn't be on the phone singing to my moms while she was on her deathbed - I would be hustling myself over there to get by her side!

This is the scene that caught me completely off guard in that HBO movie. All you do is look and listen. Afterwards, say "God Damn, That was Powerful !!" Yesterday watching Belly, I thought about this hoping it will be available. Glad it was
