The commercial is NOT disrespectful, they're acting like they had footage of him dying right there. David said he wouldn't do it again cause he felt embarressed/direspected by the rude comments bitches have made.
David was Chris's BEST FRIEND/SOUL-MATE. So if phony fans are gonna bitch, just think about this, Chris loves David forever, not you.
So apparently we should stop selling music recordings, artwork, and books by people who have died because it is inappropriate to continue to commercialize on those dead people.

David Spade does not give a shit about Chris Farley. David Spade does not give a shit about Chris Farley's family. Chris Farley was a fat cocaine addict who did too much cocaine and died from being too fat and doing too much cocaine. Good on David Spade for padding his Rules of Engagement cheques with a little dead fat ass cocaine addict money. I hope Satan is shoving a pineapple up Chris Farley's ass right now. Fuck you Chris Farley,
really??? i mean who doesnt know and love this scene and quote this part!!! you know farley wouldnt give a shit!!!! r.i.p. chris, but theres so many dead actors and this does in now way make chris look bad. jesus
Posting one of the most memorable parts in one of Chris Farley's most famous movies, disrespectful?? DUHHHHHHHHHHH Everyone knows if you glorify a dead person you are a dick. People need to stop being such babies.
David Spade and Chris Farley were like best friends..I thought this commercial was awesome when I first seen it..Brought a smile to my face..Especially when Spade laughs and says, "Never gets old" It's cool how he lets the world know he still loves and misses his buddy..Anyone calling this disrespectful are quite easily mislead..
I honestly think that Its good that the comercial came out because we remember what an amazing, talented, hilarious person he was. Some people, I swear, just bitch because they havnt anything else to do and they like hearing themselves bitch.
I like how everybody on this show and the posters too feel like they can speak for Chris Farley and how he would have loved this commercial. Why? It wasn't funny. The bit itself's funny, not the commercial. And family members saying things are okay means things are fine? I don't know about you, but not all things my family members think are fine are fine by me. Why not just keep using old clips of dead stars or CGI'ing them back to life and let yokels do whatever they want with them.
Eff these so-called Young Turks. I'd rather listen to the Rod Stewart song for 24 hours straight than listen to these bozos for more than a few seconds. They seriously can't put themselves into the shoes of the disapprovers. They compare showing other old clips of deceased stars to Spade doing a new scene with his former friend and co-star Farley? That would be like Stan Laurel continuing to do L&H movies using old Hardy clips after he died. It's a bad idea. How can they not see that side?
It's been thirteen years. Get over it. I did, and he was my favorite actor when I was a kid. This commercial was great, because for a second, it felt like Farley was still alive, reprising an old role for his fans. I'm sure Chris got finished teaching aerobics in Heaven one day, looked down, and smiled at this commercial.
If I were Chris Farley, I'd feel honored that one of my movie scenes was seen as iconic enough to be the basis for a television commercial. It's a great movie, and seeing that scene makes me want to watch it for the 20th time.

Posting Farley's death scene photos is disrespectful, this I'd call a tribute to a great movie with a great guy in it. If his family's cool about it, then so am I...
1:20 - Chris Farley's brother Kevin sucks! He was in this Republican farce-of-a-movie w/Kelsey Grammer (another douche), bashing Michael Moore! Chris would turn over in his grave if he saw his brother sell out to the man, RIP!
Oh geezus, you people need to stfu. That wasn't disrespectful in the least. As a matter of fact, it's good to remind people of Chris, and his talent, so they may go watch his movies and live on. Stop whining. Fags. Get a life. Stop complaining. You probably voted for Obummer; hopeless.
No. It is disrespectful. Why would David Spade agree to this? Chris was his best friend. You don't honor some one by making money off them. Then again I enjoy the commercail because it's chris farley, but it's still disrespectful.
OMG, CAPITALIZATION OF THE DEAD? NO WAY???? Come on people, stop being retarded here. was there not a freaking moive about MJ just a few Months after he died. You think someone didn't get paid? There was a damn 9/11 movie. A freaking Pearl Harbor movie. THIS IS A FAT MAN IN A LITTLE COAT. He was a comedian, his life was getting money to make people laugh.....and do drugs. What's the problem? Stop complaining, get a life. RIP Farley, truly a fat funny fuck.
I think Chris would be cool with this ad. Although he was sick of being the "fat guy who always falls down" actor, he still had an awesome sense of humor and Farleys family signed off on this so...
FUCK YOU Man co-host of this terrible show. Not only do you not know the line from Tommy Boy (IT'S RIGHT THERE YOU DOUCHE) but you also think that if the family is fine with it, it's okay? It's about preserving a memory. No one has the right to judge what a dead body would sell... not a family member or a co-star. FUck you. And fuck this gay fucking show.
the comment hippy douchebag is not from someone who might be ignorant or internet rage-y? Well, it's good to see someone who can simply judge people from comments because he is oh so wise.
And you obviously have a lot of knowledge on morals.
There is nothing wrong with this commercial? Yeah, making money of someone who has been dead for 10 years using him and his image to advertise something is not wrong. Of course not.
It's not like you don't see this same thing everyday... I'm sick of politically correct people like you who think you must find something wrong with everything. Go find something real to complain about, like abortion or homosexuality.
Oh, so seeing the this everyday means that it's automatically okay? I did not know that. We should have told that to Gandhi. Why are you against violence? It's not like we don't see it everyday!
And why in the world would I complain about homosexuality?
Seriously, if you have nothing to add to the conversation, just skip replying, instead of saying stupid shit like this.
I do have something to add to the conversation. You're an idiot. How the fuck would you know what Chris Farley would mind, or wouldn't mind? Oh you wouldn't... hmm then stop playing internet cop and going crazy over every clip you see...
doesnt fucking mean it's immoral... he put himself in front of that camera, and he should have expected his stuff to be used whenever anyone wishes to use it... end of fucking story... grow up bro...
"doesnt fucking mean it's immoral" YES IT DOES. God, you are so retarded. Listen if you don't know what immoral means, then don't use the word.
"he should have expected his stuff to be used whenever anyone wishes to use it"
Yeah, I forgot Chris could see into the future, knew that he would die and that his footage would be used in commercials. That thought probably didn't enter his mind when he was making that film you fucking douche.
I'm pretty sure that Chris knew that becoming an actor meant his footage would be seen by other people, and used by other people... if you don't know, that's kinda part of the job. =-D
If you don't see the difference between a movie. An artistic expression made as a performance piece and said footage spliced into a 30 second advertisement with no thought or love put into it except to make money, then you are A FUCKING RETARD.
And I'm through explaining myself to retards.
Go fuck yourself, you goblin abomination shit for brains.
Using deceased celebrities is actually pretty standard. John Lennon appeared in an ad in recent years, as have Fred Astaire and Louis Armstrong. While it's true that we can never know if Farley would have approved, the question then becomes, "Do Farley's loved ones mind?" And since this ad received the blessing of Farley's family, who control Chris Farley's estate, there's no real problem.
No, the question does not become if Farley's loved ones would mind. Have you seen some of these ads? Most are as disrespectful as they can get. Most people who control an estate only care about money and they have no say (except blood) what a dead celebrity would do with his or her image. And once again (I don't know why I have to point this out) JUST because it's now common to see dead celebrities on TV, doesn't make it immorally right. It's still wrong as hell.
Whats funny is that the people who are upset arent even Farley fans or Family members. Its just a random bunch of people who feel its disrespectful simply because he's dead. I could understand if they were making Farley do something that he probably wouldnt have done if he were alive but this is just right up Farleys ally.
It doesn't matter if it's right up Farley's alley. He's dead and he didn't make that commercial. A film is an art form and you don't take a piece of art and force the dead actors to advertise your product.
Yes, Chris was a cool guy and He probably wouldn't mind. But the thing is, he can't mind. He's dead. They are using a dead guy to advertise their shit. The notion that he would like to advertise with them is null. Because he is dead. And there for, making money of a dead guy should be considered immoral by all hands.
one of the rules in hollywood even if your dead people are gonna make money off of you. And personally i wont mind it. Myh family can have the money or donate it.
Oh it's cool that you wouldn't mind, Hollywood would be sure to keep that in mind. Oh wait, no they wouldn't. And the fact that Hollywood does it all the time or if someone else doesn't mind really doesn't change anything.
Its simple if yo uwanan be famous, rich, be in big movies and what not then be ready to have cameras in your face, no privace, and peole always asking for you to take a picture. And of course when your long gone money will still be made off your dead body.
And if you have a problem with this then you should have thought twice before you got into the business.
Chris Farley was never that famous. And just because you want to perform or entertain doesn't mean that you have to sign away your rights to live and die like a man.
Just because people take advantage of your fame doesn't make it right.
Having Chris Farley's face STILL pop-up on the tube is a compliment. In a way, it's a tribute. The reason why people are being "hum-bug" about it is because they are BORED. They constantly need to find things to complain about.
Anyone who is insulted or hurt in ANY way by this commercial should be shot then disemboweled with a wooden cooking spoon. Americans are way too stupid and overley sensative. Imagine that, someone is actually bothered over a stupid commercial.
The thing is though, this is the first time it's been done. I didn't hear any public out cry about Gap's skinny jeans commerical featuring the late Audrey Hepburn.
1:52 absolutely it is becoming a trend. people are outraged because you can play as Kurt Kobain in Guitar Hero 5... Just because he's dead. Seriously? It's not like he's prancing around the stage with his head blown off from a shotgun shell or anything...
yeah I know, people are getting what I like to call Digital Outrage Anxiety Disorder, where people see an image of something on the web and then they get outraged and go out screaming without knowing why, they just find an excuse to be angry with anything that they see on the web that they don't stand for,"Digital Outrage Anxiety Disorder."
How does it feel to be fucking retarded? Seriously. If you guys don't see the difference between a music game and a commercial with dead people.... then there is something wrong with you.
I just think that Spade calling his dead friend "Tons of Fun" is a little much. I don't care how true it is that Farley was overweight, how can you agree to get paid for calling your dead buddy a nasty name and sleep at night. It's mean spirited and all in the name of profit.Disgusting...
I was watching the world series on cable, and this commercial would come on every break telling me that watching a fat guy rip a coat was more entertaining than what I was currently doing. It annoyed the hell out of me.
Yes people it's ok when they use dead actors from 50 years ago but a guy who died 14 years ago to soon. This country needs to grow some fucking balls and stop bitching about everything.
My problem with it was that it shocked me. I wasn't watching a movie, where I expected him to be. Farley just pops up there suddenly, without warning...looking like he's still alive, which made me grieve his death again. I agree with the previous person's comment. It creeped me out, but mostly it made me sad, & I didn't appreciate that. From now on however, I'll be more prepared for it. But that first time was literally a shocking emotional rollercoaster for about 5-10 minutes. Sigh.
I wasn't a big fan of Farley, but I hear where you're coming from. I was a big fan of John Candy and if he suddenly popped up on the tube I would have a twinge also.
I thought it was awesome to see Farley- I miss him a lot! If his family doesn't have a problem with it, why should anyone else? Chris Farley was as well-loved as his death was tragic. Go Forward, I say...
Besides, that's nowhere near as bad as Michael Jackson licensing The Beatles' music to sell everything from Nike Shoes to Macy's Dept. Stores, knowing full well John Lennon was totally against using his music commercially. THAT'S disrespect to the dead, my friends...
The commercial is NOT disrespectful, they're acting like they had footage of him dying right there. David said he wouldn't do it again cause he felt embarressed/direspected by the rude comments bitches have made.

1:20 - Chris Farley's brother Kevin sucks! He was in this Republican farce-of-a-movie w/Kelsey Grammer (another douche), bashing Michael Moore! Chris would turn over in his grave if he saw his brother sell out to the man, RIP!
Suck a dripper, Kev! Lick my left one, Kelse! XD

RIP Farley, truly a fat funny fuck.
chaosnyli 2 years ago
I think Chris would be cool with this ad. Although he was sick of being the "fat guy who always falls down" actor, he still had an awesome sense of humor and Farleys family signed off on this so...
SucculentSecretions 2 years ago
I can tell you one thing. Chris farley thinks you're a fucken moron if you're offended by this commercial. Get over it already.

It's hard to imagine how your show could have lower production value.
howard1474 2 years ago
it could allow comments from people that make comments of zero substance.
oh.
ccm800 2 years ago
FUCK YOU Man co-host of this terrible show. Not only do you not know the line from Tommy Boy (IT'S RIGHT THERE YOU DOUCHE) but you also think that if the family is fine with it, it's okay? It's about preserving a memory. No one has the right to judge what a dead body would sell... not a family member or a co-star. FUck you. And fuck this gay fucking show.
morbidchid 2 years ago
you are kinda.... ignorant... and... internet rage-y
people like you make me sad...
there is nothing wrong with the commercial, you're just a hippy douchebag
supermoddavid 2 years ago
the comment hippy douchebag is not from someone who might be ignorant or internet rage-y? Well, it's good to see someone who can simply judge people from comments because he is oh so wise.
And you obviously have a lot of knowledge on morals.
There is nothing wrong with this commercial? Yeah, making money of someone who has been dead for 10 years using him and his image to advertise something is not wrong. Of course not.
morbidchid 2 years ago
calm the fuck down man, plus if chris was alive he would have loved it.
vladster7272 2 years ago
Loved what? Taking his blood, sweat and tears that went into making Tommy Boy and using it to advertise for a company that he has never heard of?
Yeah, that sounds like Chris alright.
morbidchid 2 years ago
It's not like you don't see this same thing everyday... I'm sick of politically correct people like you who think you must find something wrong with everything. Go find something real to complain about, like abortion or homosexuality.
supermoddavid 2 years ago
Oh, so seeing the this everyday means that it's automatically okay? I did not know that. We should have told that to Gandhi. Why are you against violence? It's not like we don't see it everyday!
And why in the world would I complain about homosexuality?
Seriously, if you have nothing to add to the conversation, just skip replying, instead of saying stupid shit like this.
morbidchid 2 years ago
I do have something to add to the conversation. You're an idiot. How the fuck would you know what Chris Farley would mind, or wouldn't mind? Oh you wouldn't... hmm then stop playing internet cop and going crazy over every clip you see...
supermoddavid 2 years ago
Goddammit, you are fucking retarded.
Seriously? If you don't understand what I'm saying, you have no one to blame but yourself.
I don't know what Chris Farley would mind, but I'm pretty sure that the producers working for Direct TV didn't know either.
I'm saying that it's immoral to use a dead person to sell your product as he is not endorsing that said company. Because he is dead.
morbidchid 2 years ago
doesnt fucking mean it's immoral... he put himself in front of that camera, and he should have expected his stuff to be used whenever anyone wishes to use it... end of fucking story... grow up bro...
supermoddavid 2 years ago
"doesnt fucking mean it's immoral" YES IT DOES. God, you are so retarded. Listen if you don't know what immoral means, then don't use the word.
"he should have expected his stuff to be used whenever anyone wishes to use it"
Yeah, I forgot Chris could see into the future, knew that he would die and that his footage would be used in commercials. That thought probably didn't enter his mind when he was making that film you fucking douche.
"grow up"
You're the only one acting like a child. GTFO.
morbidchid 2 years ago
I'm pretty sure that Chris knew that becoming an actor meant his footage would be seen by other people, and used by other people... if you don't know, that's kinda part of the job. =-D
supermoddavid 2 years ago
Goddammit, you must be trolling.
If you don't see the difference between a movie. An artistic expression made as a performance piece and said footage spliced into a 30 second advertisement with no thought or love put into it except to make money, then you are A FUCKING RETARD.
And I'm through explaining myself to retards.
Go fuck yourself, you goblin abomination shit for brains.
morbidchid 2 years ago
You are a disgrace to the human kind my friend.
supermoddavid 2 years ago
Fuck you.
morbidchid 2 years ago
Using deceased celebrities is actually pretty standard. John Lennon appeared in an ad in recent years, as have Fred Astaire and Louis Armstrong. While it's true that we can never know if Farley would have approved, the question then becomes, "Do Farley's loved ones mind?" And since this ad received the blessing of Farley's family, who control Chris Farley's estate, there's no real problem.
Iowamutt 2 years ago
No, the question does not become if Farley's loved ones would mind. Have you seen some of these ads? Most are as disrespectful as they can get. Most people who control an estate only care about money and they have no say (except blood) what a dead celebrity would do with his or her image. And once again (I don't know why I have to point this out) JUST because it's now common to see dead celebrities on TV, doesn't make it immorally right. It's still wrong as hell.
morbidchid 2 years ago
Whats funny is that the people who are upset arent even Farley fans or Family members. Its just a random bunch of people who feel its disrespectful simply because he's dead. I could understand if they were making Farley do something that he probably wouldnt have done if he were alive but this is just right up Farleys ally.
DemonGod20 2 years ago
It doesn't matter if it's right up Farley's alley. He's dead and he didn't make that commercial. A film is an art form and you don't take a piece of art and force the dead actors to advertise your product.
If you don't get that, then you are a mongoloid.
By the way, of course I'm a fan.
morbidchid 2 years ago
You can look at it that way. However chris was a cool guy and i'm sure he wouldnt have mind the clip from tommy boy being used.
Plus people like me who see this commercial would like to fire up the dvd player and watch tommy boy.
vladster7272 2 years ago
Yes, Chris was a cool guy and He probably wouldn't mind. But the thing is, he can't mind. He's dead. They are using a dead guy to advertise their shit. The notion that he would like to advertise with them is null. Because he is dead. And there for, making money of a dead guy should be considered immoral by all hands.
morbidchid 2 years ago
you are an idiot

morbidchid 2 years ago

HeatedLamp 1 year ago
one of the rules in hollywood even if your dead people are gonna make money off of you. And personally i wont mind it. Myh family can have the money or donate it.
vladster7272 2 years ago
Oh it's cool that you wouldn't mind, Hollywood would be sure to keep that in mind. Oh wait, no they wouldn't. And the fact that Hollywood does it all the time or if someone else doesn't mind really doesn't change anything.
morbidchid 2 years ago
Its simple if yo uwanan be famous, rich, be in big movies and what not then be ready to have cameras in your face, no privace, and peole always asking for you to take a picture. And of course when your long gone money will still be made off your dead body.
And if you have a problem with this then you should have thought twice before you got into the business.
vladster7272 2 years ago
Chris Farley was never that famous. And just because you want to perform or entertain doesn't mean that you have to sign away your rights to live and die like a man.
Just because people take advantage of your fame doesn't make it right.
morbidchid 2 years ago
Having Chris Farley's face STILL pop-up on the tube is a compliment. In a way, it's a tribute. The reason why people are being "hum-bug" about it is because they are BORED. They constantly need to find things to complain about.

yeah I know, people are getting what I like to call Digital Outrage Anxiety Disorder, where people see an image of something on the web and then they get outraged and go out screaming without knowing why, they just find an excuse to be angry with anything that they see on the web that they don't stand for,"Digital Outrage Anxiety Disorder."

I just think that Spade calling his dead friend "Tons of Fun" is a little much. I don't care how true it is that Farley was overweight, how can you agree to get paid for calling your dead buddy a nasty name and sleep at night. It's mean spirited and all in the name of profit.Disgusting...

harr77 2 years ago
My problem with it was that it shocked me. I wasn't watching a movie, where I expected him to be. Farley just pops up there suddenly, without warning...looking like he's still alive, which made me grieve his death again. I agree with the previous person's comment. It creeped me out, but mostly it made me sad, & I didn't appreciate that. From now on however, I'll be more prepared for it. But that first time was literally a shocking emotional rollercoaster for about 5-10 minutes. Sigh.
bettablue1 2 years ago
