If the US ppl seriously want to end this war, u shouldn't give credibility to Bush's black and white continuing interpretation of the vote granting authorising to pursue an immediate, unilateral, preemitive attack on inconclusive evidence of WMD existing. The vote was on giving authority to use force should WMD b proved and diplomatic efforts fail to reach disarmament 1st. Why r u still not holding Bush accountable 2 using authority without meeting the conditions under which it was granted?!
It's very misleading and irresponsible 4 senator obama to bluntly claim she authorised and supported Bush's action as this just helps Bush's argument that he has legal authority. Both of them should look at her 20 minute speech made upon voting in 02' where it is very clear as to how the vote is and isn't to interpreted, holding the administration to their public assurances that US and UK would pursue the course through UN with inspectors resolving WMD issue, and commitment to diplomacy 1st.
Barack HUSSEIN Obama couldn't run a 7/11 let alone America . Rudy G wrapped it up on 9/12/01 , its done , over ! just waiting for the fat lady to sing now .
RON PAUL 2008. I am a democrat but firstly I am an American and Ron Paul has my support and my vote. Research Ron Paul, he is what America needs. Just research him and rethink your voting plans. Ron Paul 2008.
Hillary sickens me. I'd rather have Stalin over her. Obama is the lesser of 2 evils. Ron Paul is the candidate for me. The only 2 people that should even be running is Mike Gravel and Ron Paul.
He said "It is a fundamental question of Judgement". It would be no different if I said: Alberto Gonzales fired federal prosecutors because they were not "bushies". You could disagree with me and believe in your heart that I am wrong. Do you think I'm a liar? No, You just disagree with me. Quit trying to make the world black/white and understand that reality is very grey.
He never said President Clinton was a liar. In fact he aknowledged that the former President was correct but said he thought it was important to note that he thought it was a "stupid war" from the beginning. It should also be noted that both served, until recently, in a Republican rubberstamp congress and had few viable options for legislating to end the war and both have, since the Democratic takeover, taken significant steps to bring the troops home.
Did you listen to what Obama said in this clip? If so, how can you come to any other conclusion than that Obama called Fmr Pres Clinton a liar for misrepresenting his Mrs Clinton's voting records as compared to Obama's?
I think there is a big difference between a lie and overstating similiarities between two people. If we are going to define a lie that loosely then the current administration has not spoken truth since september 12, 2001
Would you say that you think very highly of someone who you believe is a liar? Obama clearly does thinks that Fmr Pres Clinton is smart enough to know that what he says is false, but still Obama claims to think very highly of him.
If that were true the republicans would be stoning GWB right now. Politicians bend the truth all the time and our "outrage" over it is proportional to our political agreement with that person. I don't really think Obama thinks Clinton is a liar, Only overstaing similiarities for political gain. I'll be happy to point it out when a right winger does it and I wonder if you will find outrage for it?
What is interesting in this clip is not that Clinton lied, because that is hardly surprising to anyone considering his record, but that Obama can say that he "thinks very highly" of Clinton right after he himself exposed Clinton's lie.
Those are three politicians who will most likely not be in the race after the primaries. Obama has a good chance to win the Democratic nomination, so examining his character is important.
I thought it was a rather weak come-back. Their voting records, since he's been in the Senate, have been nearly identical on Iraq, which was the question posed to him. He should have set himself apart from her in his actions on votes, not that she authorized the war before he was even in the Senate.
I think folks forget that the votes they took together were all based on funding for the troops that were embedded in republican drafted bills. It would continue to be politically difficult for senators to vote against funding for the troops. The distiction will come when some of the bills writtten by some on the left start coming out this fall.
True. I recently had to explain to somebody who was blaming the Dems (for current problems with the military having whatever they need to prosecute the war) that they were jumping the gun with that particular criticism. To try again in a few months once the Dems have had the opportunity to put through their first spending bills. The conversation ended abruptly.
Obama handled that question well. Hillary is trying to morph herself into something more palatable for the Democrats now that her predominance is being challenged. It's doubtful how that will fly because it feeds into the perception that she's disingenuous, saying and doing whatever she needs to do to pander for votes.

So Obama views Clinton as a liar, but thinks very highly of him? Maybe Obama could explain to us how that works out in his head.
