Man...I'd hate to try firing up one of them old dozers in THAT weather! What do they do, just leave them running 24/7? Or take turns going out every 2 hours and running them for 15 minutes every night!? I've heard that truckers in the really cold parts of Alaska will literally never turn their trucks off during the winter, because if the engines get cold, they'll never start again unless you light a fire under the oil pan
@mharrop396 Backing up, hell...what about the turning radius? I'm guessing they think these moves through pretty well before they even start; hate the get halfway there and realize that you should have taken the other route instead. "Alright boys, turn 'em around..."
Thank you for this video, I'm always interested in Alaska and it's one of my dreams to visit there... But I know, it wouldn't be able to do this travel for me. How made me happy when I found these videos, life in there, philosophically hit me, the achievements against to the difficulties of the nature and climate circumtances are amazing for human world. In some other places of the world how we create problems!
@Inshredible What snowcat? I didn't see any snowcats...I saw some old bulldozers and a quad-track tractor, but no snowcats. A snowcat is great at going places, even pulling some weight, but I doubt they'd like pulling that much. They aren't geared anywhere near as low as a dozer is.
@@mharrop396 you don't turn them around, you hook up to the other end.......
