Another thing the host misses is that the guest is sporting a beard like a natural man. While the host is shaved, a look which is closer to women's nature. The host looks like a coorporate employee, the guest looks like he doensn't give two words about what the corporate world thinks.
guy with beard looks messy, careless like he slept in yesterday's suit and was too lazy to change the next morning to me.... not casual.....sloppy and lazy looking.....not sharp looking....unprofessional
The host comes off very post-modern trendy, while the guest comes off vintage. The host wants to know what's going on, but doesn't see that in order to know whats going on outside you have to know what's going on upstairs.
dear gentlemen above the age of 25 commenting on this video. This style is NOT for you. this is for the older teens and younger twenty-somethings. it's called "dressing down a suit" for a reason. you obviously wouldn't see a 35 year old dressed like this.
@TheIndieJesus I disagree, you can still dress down a suit over 25. I just wouldn't do it the way Scott did.
Instead of a shirt and tie you can wear 1) v-neck t-shirts, 2) v-neck button up t-shirts, 3) jumpers, 4) jumpers over shirts, 5) funky casual t-shirts with a skull on it. For shoes you can wear the ones with velcro straps to make it look more casual.
Obviously, if you were going to the office or a particular function like a wedding or a funeral then you wouldn't do this.
@begood20000 i wasn't very clear with what i meant. i wasn't actually giving an age barrier on what you can do. i was merely calling out the 40 somethings and 50 somethings bitching on this video about how the guy looks bad and "like a hobo."
i personally don't care what age you are. if you can rock it, go for it.
@begood20000 Although I think Scott did one nice detail to dress down his suit: Not buttoning the extra buttons on a button down shirt. I think it's a very neat way to defy the traditions a bit. in the same vein as not tying your tie completely. Maybe not both at once though...
Fing aye to everyone who agrees the fella on the right looks ridiculous. The guy should iron his shirt and button up when wearing a tie. Looks like he doesn't want to wear a suit so puts no effort into it and ends up looking like a slob. Not the definition of casual by any stretch.
this guy needs his shit sorting outXD is he some tramp hippy they picked up off of the street?XD horrible shirt i mean if you were be casual be casual dont be a 60s reject
Gentlemen a question: Undervests, what sort of vest can I get that wont impress seem lines around the colar and the arms on the thiner oxford shirts. Dont throw out expensive brands, I cant be assed making some designer rich overnight for using cut offs.
this is his style, let the guy rep what he wants. obviously the 30+ yr/olds can't pull this off, but the college/20 yr olds definitely can. don't hate
lol he looks like a cave man bro go and get a trim or a shave at least look clean in the vid u r not giorgio armani or valantino even both of them they dont gew they beard any way speacially with the yellow shirt? he killed the style
@Krifko Don't know about the shoe thing (David Tennant as Doctor Who could sure pull it off), but jeans, sneakers, and a leather jacket isn't rebellious. That's what my 50-year-old white collar dad wears to work. It hasn't been rebellious since Marlon Brando wore it half a century ago. Even the Sex Pistols in the 1970s had to do a lot to it to make it rebellious. In a society where jeans and leather jacket is the norm, it makes sense to rock a tie. Still, Scott Sternberg looks like an ass.
Wow, everyone says this guy looks like a slob. Where I am right now, if anyone dressed like him on a casual basis they will be called classy in less than a heartbeat.
this is not great for business meeting, but just like adam said, some guys wears a suit because they want to wear a suit, and if occasion allows, this is a great fucking way to dress in a suit
Right, for someone who has no sense of style. How is a strict regulation for what is considered casual, itself casual? “Casual means no tie and top button undone. End of story.” That statement took the casual right out of the concept. If you are not versatile with style, then you have none.
@N5055 God I agree with you so much! I've been raised to always look your best even if you're taking out the garbage and especially to iron the crap out of my clothes. I like cleanliness, not sloppiness. I'm wearing my suit as it is supposed to be worn: clean and sexy.
Hmm, not wearing leather shoes under a suit? I was brought up to believe it a faux pas, and after seeing this, I am strengthened in my beliefs :P
Anyway, the guy looks like shit. I am not a fan of the button-down collar in any case, but not buttoning it down looks even worse! This guy tries to be original but only succeeds in looking like a bum. If I want to look rebellious, Ill wear sneakers, jeans, and a leather jacket :P
i hate suits and keep wondering why in the world everyone wears them....

Wear a suit how its meant to be worn, and not with that corny yellow / orange shirt.

A mustard short-sleeved shirt with a tie, nice Dwight Shrute sense of style.
Not looking like a suit but wearing the suit is about the fit, not putting on a suit and make all other parts of your attire as bum-like as possible.
