  • Must be nice to drive a ´94-car with TC...

  • That's correct, but this had the original Cossie in it.

It is definitely a B194 but dressed-up to look more like the B195.

  • Little piece of information about the engines: Most teams use 4-litre Judd V10's rather than original (and expensive) Formula One engines

  • that's the B193

  • @zumbadorrallys noo that´s the B196

  • @xeenoon NO, B196 was the first benetton to introduce the cockpit side protections, that is a B194 because has not the renault engine v10 from 1995, I mean it's not the B195 either

  • You had a bit of a lock-up going into that hair-pin; I'm guessing you had a higher ratio of front brake-bias.

  • @vir123456 @vir123456

Yea, definitely more front than rear, that's the way it should be. With no downforce when you are doing less than 50mph, the brakes lock up very quickly. The really good F1 drivers stamp on the pedal and straight away slowly come off the brake pedal as the grip is reducing all the time the car is slowing. Tricky stuff!!

  • @matts62yt I have always tried to use the brakes as little as possible and carry as much speed as I can into the corners. I trailbrake when I attack into a tight corner.

The Euro Boss series seems very interesting, are you driving a de-tuned or specifically governed engine (Are revs held to a certain limit?) or is this a pure '94 Benetton?

  • @vir123456

You have that correct my friend. Fast driving is all about entry speed. Anyone (kind of) can come out of a corner quickly.....though maybe not in an F1 car.

Very slightly rev restricted. I think this went to 13k rpm, whereas when Schumacher drove it the rev limit was nearer 14k rpm.

  • @matts62yt Only a 1,000 rpm restriction is pretty close to what he drove. I think the restriction probably does more to save the engine than reduce performance. I am trying to develop a Star Mazda program or Formula Palmer Audi program, but something like Euro Boss could be a good way to get experience driving high horsepower cars while saving money and with a certain degree of anoymity. Out of curiosity how much would it cost to test and/or race this car?

  • @matts62yt This is clearly a 1996 or 1997 Benetton.

The B194 had acompletly other monocoque design... Rear-Wing Desighn, other Front-Wing.

  • @ReLax232 where are the cockpit side protections? they were introduced in 1996, so.... you' re totally wrong

  • @zumbadorrallys They were introduced in 1994... after Wendlingers Crash in Monaco

  • @ReLax232 you better check f1 history....

  • Engine sounds like it's a rev limited HB or a DF series V8.

  • very underrated design, one of the best cars rory byrne ever made...

  • livery is totaly wrong. it looks like the B195

  • @cescoluca88 You do realize that all that is the same is the chassis? The entrant who is running the car is different, therefore has the right to change the livery.

  • Comment removed

  • I doubt this has an original Zetec-R 3.5 V8. Probably a HB 3.5 V8.

  • Yea, I think an HB, or EB.

  • wats with the gear changes, very out of sync?

  • It's been converted to a traditional manual with clutch pedal, all the clever stuff has been removed to keep the cost of maintenance down.

  • and its the ford v8 like the b193?

  • manual box, worked really weirdly.

  • doesn't look like the b194

  • He lifted the throttle going up the hill! God what I would give to drive that car and take Eau Rouge flat......if only then to spin off and hit the barrier!

  • The G force was the biggest problem. Couldn't carry more speed because it was physically too demanding. The driver is nearly 60 by the way!

  • @matts62yt well, at least he managed to give it the beans out of the bus stop chicane...there are younger, fitter drivers who aren't capable of doing max revs in a F1 car.

  • Is it Ford Zetec V8 engine ?

  • IT's the Ford EB 3.0 V8.

  • Sorry, yea, that sounds right. 3.5lt.

  • Ford ECA Zetec-R 3.5 V8

  • listen to that engine

  • Ok, But that's not Sequential Gearbox like B194 in 1994.. it's a 6 gear without clutch.. (in italian Innesti Fontali)

  • it's the original box, just with the hydraulic semi-auto shift removed.
