  • one of the greatest

  • KILLUMINOTTI!!

  • @JGrecco123 ha, go wright that on evry single other mainstreep artist wall, casa it all ther!! THE SIGNS xD

Wow just chill, From Biggie to Eminem, it all illuminati, so Calmado Venado:P

  • hustle hard in every hustle that you pick...skinny niggas tooth pick...wa..but i do lift weight like i'm using roids....

  • nice song

  • Nas just has it on record to be the best who ever did it. Jay Z has kept doing it - that's the difference. Nas is Legend in my history book Jay Z is Legend in current book period!

  • @thehookla what are u talking about son? obviously u havent heard any of Nas' recent stuff...I want u to just list to his album with him and Damian Marley.. when u finish, say the same thing and i will pay you

  • @WadadliSamurai211 dude dont get me wrong....i've been a Nas fan since his demo tape years...check my comment on Nas is like song on youtube. all am saying is he isn't hard as the Nas we all knew in terms of flow back then. Jay z was wack from back then but now has perfected his flow that he is among the top 3 in every GOAT Rapper list published. He will soon be a legend respected like 2pac Biggie and Nas. Jay Z runs this sh*** right now even Nas knows and respects that. give him respect dude.

  • neptunes beat?

  • whatever kind of animal beyonce is rubbing on her ass probably shot and skinned itself for that opportunity. oh to be jay for a day

  • Jay has the best flow in hip hop.

  • @shotta0121 - jay is pretty dope but thats crazy talk man. this track is sick though. beats ill too

  • @shotta0121 Agreed

  • && Jus In Case A Niqqha Has To Use his Ra Tat Tat Tat!..lol

  • LEAVE THAT BOY HOVA ALONE BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO IF U DNT WANNA EITHER WAY DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YA!!! &* HE DONT NEED NO HOOK FOR THIS SHIIIITTT THAT BOY IS ILL!!!!!!

  • 19 people need hooks

  • skinny nigga toothpick

  • lyrics is crazy on this

  • "and either way you loose me mama so let loose of me" i like how he said that line it almost sounds like he intentionally did it so it can sound like "so either way you loose me mama so let looseof (lucifer) me" Jay's a master at word play, most rappers i grew up on are.

  • ocarina of rhyme version is fire

  • i always found american gangster to be a modern day reasonable doubt

  • Jigga fukk da critics u kno where u stand in this indo, while dese udda bois green like some indo eheheheh figa it out SUCKASSSSSSSS

  • This album is why BP3 is less hardcore. I think Jay Z got alot out of his system on this album. cathartically, I mean. He went deep in his psyche on this track, as well as pray, sweet, say hello, blue magic, and american dreamin.

  • @Jazzomite1 This is Probaly his 3rd best Album behind Black Album(His best) and Reasonable Doubt. Blueprint 1 gets a honorable mention but it was more beatdriven(Amazing beats). His lyrics drive the other 3 I mentioned.

  • this my shit

  • "Hustle caine, hustle clothes, or hustle music, but hustle hard in any hustle that you pick, skinny nigga, toothpick, but i do lift weight like im using roids, rolls royce keep my movements smooth while maneuvering through all of the maneur in the sewer that i grew up in"

    Amazing

  • "Own boss, own yours.... masters

slaves the mentality I carry with me to this very day

f**k rich lets get wealthy who else gone feed we? "

So true, Wake up BLACK SKINNED PPL

  • what is the video where beyonce is dancing?

  • american gangster is a album which you hardly hear these days but this is one of his best albums

    FRANK LUCAS

  • this one go hard

  • " Please dont categorize this as music, please dont compare me to other rappers, compare me to trappas im more Frank Lucas than Ludacris and Luda's my dude i aint tryna diss like Frank Lucas is cool but i aint tryna snitch"-

    This verse is legendary!!!!

  • @jayword32 so true

  • @jayword32 bro i dont get the 'like Frank Lucas but I aint tryna snitch" u get it?

  • @DaConflict Frank Lucas turned into a snitch after being caught.

  • still lovin it....!!

  • love this 1

  • cna anyone hook me up with an acapella

  • this song goes hard as fuck check me out u gota minute

  • check out my channel...new comer...watch out!!!

  • jay-z is better then NAS in metaphors, flows, imagery, boasting, backing up what he raps about (MONEY). Nas only has him in story telling. Nas uses big words and history lessons to impress people. Jay-z is a better entertainer than NAS point blank period.

  • @jaypring1 ...Are you serious, dude? Lyrically, Nas eats Jay up. Plus he actually writes his own rhymes, and is FAR more versatile. Don't get me wrong, I really like Jay-Z, but comparing him to Nas is just... lol-worthy.

  • @HeavyLethal Naw bro i can't agree with you! Song for song jay-z wins in my books! Album for album lets not go there. He has the most #1 albums as a solo artist in all music genres! And on top of all of that he is running 16 businesses and still manages to make HITS! Its already hard enough to run a business but come on man he's ILL! During the battle it was a good debate but Jay-z obviously won the war! He don't run rap no more I runs da map"

  • @HeavyLethal to me their like apples and oranges, I love them both for different reasons but cant decide who I like better. but their botjh 2 of my favorite M.C's alive or dead

  • ya know his hook is i dont need no hook for this shit... lmfao

  • @j1495bmx but it last half a bar! noob!

  • He should have said at the end "And I didn't need a hook for this shit"

  • AG is one of his best albums. 1 bad song, ( Hello Brooklyn - Lil Wayne douchebag). Everything else on there is a hit.

  • in his video of "hustle hard" caspian sample this track

    is fire!

  • For this shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhit

  • Jay-Z is shit

    Biggie for life

  • @biggi3lue eat biggies dik, u gay mother fuker go die on his corpse u piece of fuk jay is the best ever

  • the lyrics are bitchin' but the beat in meh!

  • I like the No Karma - Jaydiohead version better. =P

  • WOW i guess this is what happens when youre as good as a rapper as jay is people always try to break you down or find someone better

  • And I don't need no hook for this shit.

  • @HipHopIsDeadMohsin funny thing is that is his hook ;)

  • If DeHaven was lyin' about Jay-Z's street credibilty he'd had proly been dead by now...but he aint...You cant really say the same for someone who is in a position like Jay-Z cus he untouchable now and even if he was fakin and tellin another niggas story money talks...everything else trots down the sidewalk...I just dont understand how Jay looked broke in his early days when he was supposedly ballin from the Dope Game...And how could he be a connect if he was rich in rap before 25!? Dont Add up..

  • @BiggieVenster if youve seen the movie paid in full then you would be able to see that even paid dudes back then looked kinda broke when you look at them by todays standards, i seen old jay pics wit big gold ropes, back before niggas was rockin fake ones like that. i see old pics of gangsters and they all looked like they were broke but thats because the idea of how paid looks has changed.

  • He Said He USee tooo Dress Like a Regular Dude...

    He Cracked Thaa CODE..

  • @YunGProphetLove illuminati admission

  • jay-z is one of the best to ever touch the mic . FUCKING LOVE IT !!!

  • 1:37 just awesome bars!!!

keep my movements, smooth while maneuverin//

thru all the manure in the sewer that i grew up in//

  • This song sounds good with Dear Mama in the beat

  • not in the beat AS the beat but anyways its a sik song

  • HEBREW. Who r u???

  • Hov is nice but he is taking credit off other peoples life. not cool.

  • dawg frank lucas snitched on crooked cops which are worst than a regular snitch still its not justified

  • im more frank lucas then ludacris, ludas my dude i aint trying dis, like frank lucas is cool but i aint trying to snitch ima fallo the rules no matter how much time ima get ima live and die with the decisions that ima pick "best jay song ever"!!

  • but hustle hard in any hustle that you pick skinny nigga toothpick but, but i do lift weight like im using roids rolls royce keep my movements smooth while manuvering through all the manuers in the sewers that i grew up in choi-ces we make trying to escape this is not for commercial usage please dont catagorize this is music please dont compare me to other rappers .... Dayum nobody can touch his flow on this!! lyrics are a deathblow
  • THIS SONG GOES HARD.. but isnt it kinda contradicting itself.. him saying "i dont need no hook for this shit" is kinda like a hook to me haha

  • No its just the way he enede all the verses, thats where u went wrong, the song has no hook,a hook has to be said more the once to be a hook,he only said it 1ce at the end of er verse

  • n were did u get this info about hooks having to be repeated twice.. and him saying it at the end of every verse = a hook.. may be a really short one but still is one

  • Look up the meanin of CHORUS aka hoks,it has to be repeated more than 1ce to be a hook,i study music took, lol,in this case of the this song, its just a line he uses at the end of every verse, and it satnds out bcause the name of the song is no hook, but this song really deosnt have a hook...

  • Comment removed

  • And thats what im tyr tell this other dude,a hook cant be said once, him sayin i dont need no hook for this shit,is a line thats said at the ened of erverse, not a hook,am i correct or wrong?

  • yea u you're right

  • Go check out that song "What the Hook Gon Be" by Murphy Lee. That song is way more contradicting than this one.

  • dam i remember that song from backkkkkkkkk in the day ha

  • interesting how 2003 (when Murphy's Law came out) is still 7 years ago. haha

  • @SoggyPizzaPockets1 word...that shit is crazy yo it dont feel like it

  • i wouldnt say this song has a hook but more of a bridge, i mean its only 8 words lol

  • @SoggyPizzaPockets1 what the hook gon be is dope though!

  • lol!

  • what's your problem damone.

  • SOOOO HARD IT DONT NEED A FUCKIN HOOK

  • now i done heard most of jay's stuff, have almost all his albums but damn hova fucked up on this 1. his flow is just no go : (

  • this album was number 3 on rollin stones list for best albums of 2007

    reasonable doubt

    the black album

    blurprint

    blueprint 3

    american gangter

  • this album is top 5 jay-Z indeed... IMO:

    - Reasonable doubt

    - Blueprint

    - Black Album/American Gangster

    - Dynasty/ In my lifetime (minus Sunshine and all)

  • Team Teamwork - The Ocarina of Rhyme: Jay-Z - No Hook (Meeting the Owl)

    The beat is WAAAAAY better

  • this shit fye!

  • the album is definately in jay z top 5 best! ....bp3 doesnt have anyhthing on this REAL MUSIC! ....check out this band "INRG" i been listening to...they are keeping real hip hop alive!! GOOD MUSIC

  • why people don;t american gangster was a great album

  • i feel this is his worse album im a big jay fan but this is a fake reasonable doubt to me,i mean this album still better than alot of other peoples albums but compared to his self it's one of his worst

  • this my shit

  • "yoo everybody go check my page and listen 2 my tracks...feedback would be really appreciated....support a hungry up and coming artist...new tracks coming soon and just uploaded 2 tracks forever and dreamstate check em out...thanks

  • There is a better version of this song, It called No hook (meeting the owl) by team teamwork

  • ikr? both are nice, but imma zelda fan 2 death, and u gotta love that version

  • and i dont neded no hook foe dis shit

  • Fuck rich, gettin wealthy. Quality

  • Shawn Carter (a.k.a Jay-Z) the 'son' of Donovan Spalding (Original BURRO B.)???

    carefully observed

  • LMAO kinda does

  • dis song iz da shit. at least he still kept his rap da same

  • hey dis iz some real rap shit

  • one of jayz best songs ever i think. I don't care if bp3 was all pop , jayz on top of his game since he retired, with A.G. as proof and kingdom come was brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • he says maison martin margela its a Belgian fashion designer. god you guys are stupid.

  • Ummm..."Free Masons"...look it up.Lol.

  • AMEN!!! he designs some dope ass sneakers.

  • So what if he is a FM? It's not any more stupid than being a trained, non thinking Christian Nut.

  • Comment removed

  • shut the fuck up.

  • Comment removed

  • jaydiohead (mash up of radiohead and jay-z by Max Tannone) makes all these original raps by jay-z sound so much better. The beat that he raps over on this, the original, is so bland and boring.

  • I love Radiohead so I'll look for that... The Brown Album mixed my Kev Brown adds a lush dimension to The Black Album... Danger Mouse's The Grey Album got more publicity and is also dope. It's crazy how a different producer can change the whole feel of an album.

  • y does he say im more frank lucas than ludacris. what does luda have to do with this

  • The line is not a diss to Ludacris... American Gangster is a concept album. In it he assuming the role of a street hustler, drug kingpin, etc. Jay is saying that he's more like Frank Lucas because of his drug dealing background than Ludacris. Luda doesn't have this kind of background to my knowledge, and doesn't rhyme about it at all.

  • Well said!

  • Thank you my Lex pushin' homie... I work at Toyota's headquarters Torrance Ca so I appreciate the product placement as well.... job security!!!

  • man his song was on American Gangster and now he thinks hes the shit and going into frank lucas concept. what a fucking sell out. Wheres biggie when i need.

  • What? Doesn't even make sense. He made a great concept album and left it. He doesn't think he's Frank Lucas at all, have you heard Blueprint III or seen Jay at all recently? You're a scrub.

  • I think he meant like ''I'm more of a buisness man/entrepeanur (I know I spelt that wrong) than a rapper/entertainer'' he speaks on shit like that a lot ''I'm the realest to run it, I just happen to rap''

  • HE MEANS LUDACRIS AS IN CRAZY

  • kid you're fuckin slow, try LISTENING to the track next time...i mean unless english isn't your first language, then you're excused

  • HOVA

  • team teamworks version is better... it isnt as melodramatic as this shit lol

  • i know I love the OOR version...the mashup just melds and it's awesome lol

  • Get em HOV

  • god mc

  • omg i love this song!!!!

  • search "ocarina of rhyme jay-z"

and go to the team teamwork remix.

    sounds alright

  • I dont know. Jay is my favorite rapper of all times. Not the most lyrical but the greatest to me. I can see where u r comin from tho. He does talk about hustlin most of the time. i Feel u. But when he say shit like"Life is like a treadmill, niggas runnin in place, gettin nowhere fast a whole year done passed". U cant deny those lines. that shit is hard.

  • Keith Murrays"Enigma" 96". Okay. Im done.

  • those albums you named were much more versitile and creative than RD. RD was good, but narrow minded. jay's always badgering his listeners about hustling and the effects of it. enigma, score, nocturnal, and muddy were creative classics but cube and ice-t PIONEERED gangsta rap. wiki "gangsta rap". Doggystyle=7X Plat. MC Ren-Plat w/ no radio or video. UNHEARD OF! Cypress Hill-2X Plat. Xzibit's 40 dayz 40 nights-CLASSIC. Warren G-3 X Plat.. DPG-3X PLAT. Chronic & Doggystyle ARE BEYOND CLASSICS!

  • Ghostface Killas"Iron Man" "96" The list goes on.

  • "96" My favorite year for rap. Redmans"Muddy Waters. Mobb Deeps"Hell On Earth". Nas"It Was Written". Jay Zs"Reasonable Doubt". The Fugees"The Score". And i think Heltah Skeltahs"Nocturnal" came out that year. And those r only a few that i can think of rite now. What did the west coast hav besides 2pac? Nothin!!

  • I dont care about who was gettin shot. All i know is the east coast rappers are better. 2pac was the hottest one on the west coast. Dont get me wrong, I was bumpin that w.c shit back then. Ice cube, nwa. spice 1. All that shit. But the East took the game in the mid 90s.

  • Listen to Jay z "U must love me" and "Meet the parents" and "This cant be life" and "Lucky me" and "The song on beanie sigels album feat. jay. I think its called I still got love for u. He is talkin about his dad on there. Jay is the truth. U r the guy jayz talks about when he said "Do u fools listen to music or do u jus skim through it?"

  • pacs first 2 albums wer mediocre to me. jay is better. he only dropped one weak album kingdom come.

  • FLASHBACK NOT HAVIN MUCH

  • who is frank lukas?

  • u retarted

  • lol frank lucas is the american gangster you cant like rap and not no who frank lucas is

  • i just learned who frank lucas was two years ago....so before 2007 i didn't like rap??

  • Instead of chastising you, I will tell you. He was a drug dealer in the 70's. If you never saw American Gangster you might want to go peep that to understand.

  • Jay is Da Greatest Hands Down...

  • This album was a classic

  • "fuck rich lets get wealthy"

  • I'm more Frank Lucas than Ludacris

And Luda's my dude I ain't trying to diss

Like Frank Lucas is cool but I ain't trying to snitch

    Wow!!!

  • 2:08 dats wusup!!!!

  • This is my favorite song on American Gangster..I relate to it so much and I'm glad that even though he a millionaire now he still tries to relate to niggas on the struggle

  • you cant compare lil wayne to jay-z...it IS insulting...its like comparing lebron to jordan...yea everybody know he gud...but where his rings at????

    FEEL ME????

  • lebron to jordan??? not even that dood its like comparing Luke Walton to Jordan...it just makes no sesne wayne isnt even close to jay jay is like top 10 or top 15 ever...wayne is lucky to be in top 100 im not even exaggerating

  • hahaha awesome name drop!!! Luke fuckin Walton lol - worst player! I agree with you and Planet, its like comparing Juelz to Nas.....why do people even compare them?

  • i would like to see you put 10 rappers above jay-z and 100 rappers before lil wayne. You must listen to alot better rappers than me because to me its not possible

  • Comment removed

  • kool g rap, twista, krs-one, big daddy kane, ll cool j (arguabley), rakim, 2pac, biggie, nas, gza, ice cube, scarface, eminem (arguabley), and a few others if i sat around and thought more. i'm not a fan of krs, ll cool j, or eminem really, so im open to debate on that. but even if you take those 3 away, you still gotta respect the other 10 i mentioned. the all are on a higher level of spitting over jay. jay is one of the illest but he will never spit or rap better than kool g rap or twista.

  • jay might not have better lyrics than eminem, rakim, kool g rap but i think hes better than all of them. I dont think scarface, ice cube, ll cool j, or tupac have great lyrics. you must not be from nyc.

  • cube was the 1st west coast rapper to get 5 mics b4 j even started rapping. he was the first hardcore rapper to work w dre. if it wasn't for cube, nyc rappers would still be sounding like das efx & kool moe dee. listen to "2pac-All Out" the orig. version. pac destroyed the entire east coast and jay-z didn't say shit. he knew he couldn't beat pac. jay put out kingdom come. pac, face, or cube never put out a mediocre album. u can't say cube and pac don't have great lyrics. all of them got 5 mics.

  • CALM DOWN nigga YEARS before jay was poppin BIGGIE and WU TANG redid NY rap... so u out ya fuckin mind saying ice cube changed east coast rap... he did a lot but CHILLL... dont u ever down the NYC

  • cube INVENTED GANGSTA RAP, nigga! do the history! I love e.c. rap too, but even the e.c. mc's admit that the w.c. lyrics were more vibrant, vivid, violent, and viciious than e.c. lyrics in the 90's. KRS even says "the east coast created it, the west coast decorated it." ask yourself: HOW? "-SPEECHLESS-" while e.c. rappers were painting pictures of mafioso druglords (Norega, Escobar, Frank White), w.c. rappers were really crippin and bloodin on wax and getting shot over it. 1 SONG: DEEP COVER

  • NYC has generally much better and much smarter lyrics than anywhere else. Not saying that clever lyrics make an MC. West coast rap has a great sound and gang banging lyrics.

  • lil kim got 5 mics my nigga. NYC rap has always always had the best lyrics around, jayz is just the deepest in the east, just like tupac is the deepest in the west, and eminem is the deepest in the d, and face is the deepest in the south. Scarface didnt put out classics until jay signed his ass and the best shit on "the fix" was jay spitting on guess whos back.

  • Face "Neva Seen a Man Cry" is a TIMELESS record. cube "today was a good day" too. jay don't make "TIMELESS" records. jay is ONE DEMENTIONAL. 95% of his music is hustling and rap politics. LSTN 2 "me & my girlfriend" both versions. jay's is a CLICHE. "minority report" too. LSTN to jay's verse on "black republicans" then listen to nas'. everytime jay tries to spit black ethnics, it comes off CLICHE. he has NO underground appeal. his music is POP. he can't battle rap either. even TALIB is better.

  • timeless means you can listen to 10-15 years and still feel it. i would say in my lifetime 1 and 2, reasonable doubt, blueprint, all are timeless. If you listen to jay you know he raps about life and is much wiser than he sounds on the radio. I dont think underground appeals means anything. I think what appeals to me is important, talib has better lyrics but he isnt better than jay-z. Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?

  • None of those records you named are timeless. the black album and american gangster are timeless. I HAVE MEMORIZED EVERY JAY-Z ALBUM, but so what! i agree fuck the underground. but at the same time, to really claim to be the "greatest of all time", you have to consider the underground appeal (eminem, luda, busta) and black ethnics (cube, pac, and nas.) they all have commercial appeal like jay, but they CAN fall into other catagories that jay CANT. THAT IS WHY THEY ARE BETTER ARTISTS. TWISTA?

  • you said jayz is less great because he doesnt fall into categories. elaborate.

  • google "gangsta rap" and click the wikipedia answer. you will see that jay-z is catergorized in "Mafioso rap".

  • i wouldnt say jay is in either but how does that take away from his greatness. Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are definitly classic.

  • how does this change the argument

  • i grew up LSTNing to ALL rap. i never discriminated. i respect ANY creativity that goes into the art. i honestly believe that what ice cube did to the art AT THE TIME had the most profound influence TO THIS DAY. nobody changed rap like how ice cube did. he CREATED gangsta rap. HE HAD NO LYRICAL INSPIRATION. it was the come up. he wanted to SHOCK you. who influenced him to do this? nobody. he influenced himself. he is the roots to gangsta rap, where jay is a branch. a very big branch, but still.

  • its like saying kobe is better than dr. j. some ways, he MAY be. Some stats might back that up. but what dr j did for the nba at the time is TODAY'S STANDARD. BUT NOBODY INFLUENCED DR J. kobe was influenced by jordan, who was influenced by dr j. NOBODY influenced cube. the things he was saying back then are today's standard. jay-Z is influenced by jaz-o, nas, BIG, kool g rap, big daddy kane, ect, who are ALL influenced by AMERIKKKA'S MOST WANTED (platinum w/ no videos or singles). GOOGLE IT!

  • You are retarded. I knew schools in the south were fuct up but i didnt know schools in the west were as bad. So now your argument is that jay-z has influences and ice cube doesnt and therefore ice cube is more creative and therefor a better rapper. There are so many holes in your argument its incredible.

  • keep your comments about the rappers, not about me. i don't live in the south. i live in chicago, but i grew up in WATERBURY CT. and i have damn near every BIG MIKE and DJ CLUEmix cd there is.

  • kungblao...i'm glad you got it all figured out.

  • the guy said to name 10 rappers that were better than jay-z. i did. CASE CLOSED. i could have kept going but i stopped. jay-z IS one of the greatest rappers alive, but is NOT the greatest. PERIOD.

  • you said twista is better than jay-z case closed.
