My guess as to why he changed, is because Chaos altered his appearance. That's just because of what he looks like in his Chaos form though, it could be another reason. I haven't played all the way through the game either.

final fantasy 7 was a ps1 game, 1997 so it's quite hard to find now, it starts a couple years after crisis core, it mainly follows Cloud but he meets the rest of them during the game and u get a fair amount of back story on each of them, u never know, u might get a copy eventually

Sephiroth is the son of Lucrecia and Hojo, Vincent was in love with Lucrecia but she left him.

I personally have no idea how Cloud got involved... I think he was just injected with Jenova cells, like Seph was.

Its great because although I see alot of people who commented here don't understand the kind of relationship that Vincent and Lucrecia have, I can understand it, and the song plays it out perfectly. You can relate to the feeling of emptyness that one can feel not being able to be with the one they love, but also the need to move on with your life and protect the ones you love without letting it consume you. The reason why Vincent is still inlove with Lucrecia is because Hojo technically forced her into marrying him. Any true Final Fantasy VII fan would know that. And The fact that he still love her after all that happened is what boosts his coolness not drags it down.

There was no force, Marriage is not what got them to have a baby and the baby was the essence of their whole relationship least be to Hojo.
