CORRUPTION IN LOUISIANA POLITICS NOW SPREADING INTO THE PERRY CAMPAIGN! A MAJOR PLOT TO OVER THROW THE PRESIDENT IS BEING EXPOSED IN LOUISIANA! BREAKING NEWS STORY!!! GOOGLE SEARCH THESE THREE WORDS; DEM LEGAL SCENTS
What we have today is a direct result of government will. The government gets what the government wants. To think that government is somehow fair and malevolent is a very perverse delusion. The politicians both Republican and Democrats only care about financing and re election and not you. It is years of government intervention and allowing insurance companies and the financial burden imposed by banks on doctors to interfere with the patient/doctor relationship and it's cost that have caused ill
@TheStrazy Now ya know Y Pelosi don't take shit from the GOP. What happened to Boehner's BS about bipartisanship when he took power? He wasn't gonna be like big-bad-Pelosi. The GOP lied to seniors about Medicare to get elected. About 2 dozen Tea-Party freshmen, who rode to power on cuttin Big-Govt. started PORKING it up when they got to office. Even Bachmann. Google search (cost cutters, but not when the spending is back home) The heads of the SC TeaParty were in jail for pirating software. LOL!
Oh look, another carbon copy who thinks he's smart because he's anti-republican and pro "lets throw out money into a big pot so the lazy can take advantage of the middle class, aka healthcare welfare." You take stupidity to an entirely new level, I pity the fool who finds himself (in this economy) cursing the day he ever vouched for such a shitty "quid pro quo" system of peasant socialism. You actually trust the government with more of your money? Ahahahahah
To solve the hunger problem we should kill all caucasians and make sandwiches out of em. Beats pork, even though they dont differ much in taste. But dont worry im not a racist... I wont say no to Thailand thighs.
@frustratedscreenwr Well for one thing, if you compare what your video says about the GOP's stance on health care, incriminating it as a plan "Death" himself would favor, to the posters Nazi Germany put out to incriminate the Jews - Portraying them as crooked and greedy - If that's propaganda, than Placing the Republican party's hand around Death's shoulder is too propaganda. Plus your video is not funny,so it has no real comedic value - this video was made to stir up disfavor with the GOP
@ChadizzleFoshizzle People should stir up disfavor with the GOP. They don't give a shit about you. (unless, of course, you make over 250k a year, or you own a multi-national corporation) They only care about people before they are born. Have you noticed that they only bring up abortion when they are close to an election? Hmmm... What's up with that? The obvious answer is that it gets the base (the religious right) all fired up.
@DrShaym Wow, you had to go all the way back to slavery? How about something that benefited someone who is still alive?
Think about this: If the economy and the unemployment rate improves, the Republicans are less likely to win the White House next year. EVERYTHING they are doing right now slows economic growth and eliminates jobs. Economic experts predict their current spending bill would eliminate up to 800,000 jobs. What will that do to the unemployment rate?
@DrShaym I sincerely hope you're kidding. In 2010 (most recent annual statistics), the U.S. trade deficit with China was $252 billion. The deficit means that the U.S. exported $82 billion in goods and services to China (double its 2005 exports), while it imported over $334 billion. This is killing the value of the dollar. I said average citizen, not multi-national corporations. Try again.
People who are in need of a new health care system , are people who are unable to pay for it. So people who have a sufficient health care will have to pay for them.
Liberals: High School and College kids who think they are Gods gift to the world, but dont know shit. Or adults with minor education.
Conservatives: Baby Boomers with a pension. And in some rare cases young adults who have a brain.
there are places in europe that have an insane amount of health care, their people have no issues with their taxes, and it has helped not only the people, but the corporations. They are making more money than ever, and the workforce is always growing with free post-secondary. Bash solid points all you want, but when this system has been a THRIVING success current day, you can't say it would just crash.
well as of today it has been determined unconstitutional. Now only if we could outlaw the IRS tax codes we would be so far ahead. Direct Taxation to the wage earner is also unconstitutional but the house is too afraid to throw that out.
government is already the reason healthcare is so expensive, research and you will realize REAL private healthcare is the answer and not socialized medicine or this bastardized version of private healthcare we have now. weather there rockin blue or red politicians in general are corrupt power hungry fiendswho dont give a fuck about you.
Get the fuck out of here with this health care crap. We need money to build more Bombs you idiots can't you see that we need to protect ourselves from countries that are over 6,000 Miles away! Health care reform? NO THANK YOU, I'd rather remain the World's largest military spender!
@1Guitarslayer Oh... it couldn't have been the quadrupling of the national debt over the 12 years republicans had power. It was CLINTON for cutting the debt in HALF! And It couldn't have been the 8 years bush had to double the debt by giving tax breaks to the rich WHILE funding a war! Its GOT TO BE OBAMA! Because its his fault.
The tax code in the U.S. is kind of hard to understand if you can not read & the irs knows this. Type "Theft By Deception 1 of 9 Deciphering The Federal Income Tax" in youtube search box. If your a U.S. citizen who receive domestic earnings , you do not have to pay income taxes. & for all the other taxes, we pay for schools, roads, police, firemen & so on. But what do they always say to us, we don't have the funds. So where are the funds, what are our taxes paying for???
Our grandparents are on government healthcare too.....they pay for it dearly WITH monetary funds. (medicare) In upwards of 500-600 per month. When their only income is social security. Why do Americans (well I guess only the 30% now who are for the healthcare bill) feel that they should have it for free??? I say no way..
sparo...it is black and white...you add color to your life at will...at your own will....black and white is just the foundation. I too have "government healthcare" but our family pays for it dearly and I do not mean by monetary funds.
Either way I feel that "we the people" as individuals/neighbors should be responsible for our own protection ie: right to bear arms (not police). We should put out our own fires or simply just re-build (not firemen), and teach our children instead of the government/state (not teachers)...that would solve a lot of money problems too if we took responsibility instead of expecting it to be an American right.....:) happy thinking
healthcare is a personal responsibility, not a right. most Americans seem to get "our rights and responsibilities" mixed up lately. as to the comment sent to me....hum..let me think....the police, firemen, and teachers cost the taxpayers a lot less than to provide the entire legal and non- legal American population with healthcare.
We cannot be forced to accept or pay for government healthcare. It is against our rights as Americans. We do not have to be forced into paying for ANYTHING we do not want. Sure we want cigarrettes...so we will pay the tax...sure we want the gas.because we have to get around...so price is not such an issue...but healthcare I do not need or want when i have a decent one right now. Seriously....
This debt of course that I am talking about is all BEFORE a healthcare bill. What makes you think that China will not come over and claim the U.S as thier rightful property....right/wrong? In my mind a debt must always be repaid.
How will the government pay for everyone? An example is to look at Canada. Have you asked a Canadian why they come the the U.S for surgeries or medications? No, I am sure many Americans have not. This government of ours has put us so far in debt that there is no way even our great-great grandchildren can recover. Most of this debt is to China.
Listen! We DO NOT WANT help....it is going to come to a point where the government will pay for you long enough...until they write more laws...alter the American freedoms...tell you what you can and cannot say...can and cannot do....because they have taken care of you. At that point you have no rights anymore...the government will "try to" fund and take care of you totally....sit down and shut up! Will be thier motto. it is a no good situation..meaning nothing good wil come of this..EVER.
it must be sad to live in such a black and white world where things are either horrifically evil or rainbowshitting good. Tone down the extremes a bit a lot of people happier than you and I have public healthcare try to focus more on how they implement it than that they do at all.
Or that the governmnet will take care of us. Our founding fathers wanted to get AWAY from BIG govenment that taxed and opressed every normal function of thier daily lives. And they made it on thier own and did well, very well taking care of themselves....and others...independently as neighbors, or a small bussiness. They would buy what they wanted when they needed.....until recently.
Listen.....a 2.4 or even 3% profit is so small. Insurance companies (private) have done a decent job for the majority of americans over the last..idunno.....60 + years or more. Why? again, idunno...you can shop around..get the best coverage for your family....add more if you need more...change your coverage... if you cannot afford some coverage..downgrade. I cannot comprehend why some Americans think that a government healthcare system is going to solve Americas problems.
They do a terrible job how can you be so blind? The majority of people I talk to feel ripped off by their insurance company I don't know what small world you live in.
If you watched the summit today, it is clear that the Republicans were for health care reform but what they did not want was the allocation of abortion money even to public schoolss. The GOP even tossed in a few workable suggestions that, the Dems & Obama admitted to agree with.
the goverment makes the capitalist healthcare suck by too many regulations----insurance companies arent even allowed to compete from state to state----the goverment made our healthcare system suck so they can force us to go to universal healthcare---would u stupid sheeple wake up !!! quit being morons--this debate is not about healthcare it is about goverment control and it is about destroying the constitution ---
I assume that Mr. Reaper also was putting some money towards hiring those paid actors who were showing up at the town hall meeting to disrupt them and to spread lies.
It was really funny that so few new channels actually looked up the names that people gave to find out if they really lived in the area etc. The one who claimed to be "just a concerned house wife" but was in fact worked for the local republican party chair was kine of a dead give away.
Change? Transparency? Look at the new face of the "status quo". I'm laughing at all of the people who voted for this idiot because if his healthscare bill passes, union golden ticket plans will be taxed 40%. Everyone of those people will have to take what the government deems necessary for John Q Public to get by in life as cheap as possible. And those with more insurance than necessary will be taxed for that. Failure to by coverage...an IRS issued fine. Failure to pay?????? Yup. You got change!
I don't know if your TV still has antennas on it, but this healthcare legislation and all the subcommittee meetings where everyone is voting on amendments has been on C-Span. I have been watching C-Span for 10 years now, and this bill has been more TRANSPARENT then any other. Most of the Town Hall meeting were aired. Call your local cable company if you need to! And let google be your friend.
It has historically been the least transparent bill ever forged in the history of the united states. Republicans aren't even allowed behind the close doors of the democrats. Republicans have presented over 30 bills that the democrats never considered. And no, they have not shared everything on Cspan. They don't share what they will tack on to the bill after it passes. And in MOST of the townhall meetings....it was rejected. But go ahead lemming. Follow on
In EVERY hearing I have seen on C-Span, (and there were a lot of them), both Republicans and Democrats were there and participating. You are listening to the talking heads. They merged the bills behind closed doors, but the GOP & the public will have plenty of time to review it. I am sick & tired of the GOP bitching that they haven't been part of the process. They have said no to everything because they know that it will again make the Dems look good, kinda just like when Medicare passed.
The Republicans didn't write the bill, but they have been more than welcome to offer amendments. Over 160 of their amendments have been accepted. Trust me, you want to talk healthcare reform, I know the truth. I have been following this very closely.
Don't forget that the republicans promised us that they would bring their own plan to the table. This promise was made back in the spring. So far no plan from them has been seen.
Those papers that were being waved at Obama while he spoke to the joint session were blank. It was political theater. They wanted to appear to be offering a plan. They played politics instead of making an honest effort and got caught at it.
Amen. I just heard on C-Span where a GOP Senator said they had a healthcare bill. Then they were asked how the Congressional Budget Office scored it. Then the Senator said that their bill could not be scored. (The CBO scores bills to see how much costs and savings a bill has incorporated.) Senator Kyl of Arizona was on the Senate Floor bashing the plans being merged in Congress. Then at the end he said in so many words that all that I said I don't know to be true, but we will see. Good God!
Everything the President has done has been "historically the worst" blah blah blah to you Republicans.
We expect that because we know you guys do not know a thing about history other than what your leaders tell you is history.
Everything is always black and white with you guys, no grey areas at all...thats why 30 of your senators voted against a bill to stop corporations from being able to probate ciminal activities like rape to keep them out of court.
Ummm, genius....I'm not republican. keep your assumptions and presumptions to yourself. Thank you. And this healthscare reform will indeed cost you and add to our federal deficit. Pelosi has already been warned about this. And yes, this healthscare uses everyones tax dollars to fund abortions and yes, they will decide what medical treatment you need. Great, a big government that can't even run itself is now going to take on healthcare. They can't even run the DMV! And all of this is ok with you?
Here's one of MY talking points lemming. Pelosi says it won't add to the deficit. And it won't....for now. The bill doesn't go into effect until five years after its signed. During those five years, we pay in higher taxes to build up the funding. Then, the bill kicks in. Five years after that, the funding for it is no longer double what they had to work with and now, going into the next decade, when idiot is out of office, it starts to lose money, adding to the deficit. This has been proven.
That is not your talking point "lemming". And you ARE a lemming because you did not take the initiative to look up what you are NOT being told by your REPUBLICAN masters.
The current amount of tax payer dollars being spent on health care AND the projected cost over the next 10 years WITH the increase in health care costs which is the FASTEST rising cost of ANY industry in the nation.
Cost projection for the next 10 years? 1.4 trillion dollars keeping things the way they are.
Knowledge, you certainly have not read the bill. Page 110 and 171 specifically call for an abortion mandate IDIOT. Now, bitch tell me what I don't already know. Go get some education
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The fact that you can't answer my point is evidence that you have no knowledge of what the bill contains and you make your statements based purely upon ignorance which makes you an IDIOT (emphasis added). If you are offended by the correctly added insult...man up and prove me wrong. But since you offer an argument from ignorance....its asinine for you to argue. Which makes you an idiot. And, how many political parties are in our system? I'm not republican. Thats just another version of democrat
You are just spouting republican talking point. Come back when you have learned to think for your self. At this point you have lost the argument. You won't convince me that there is some other version of the bill out there that does pay for abortion without a link to it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I can't help it if your lazy. But give me the address of your trailer park and I'll snail mail it to you. As far as losing the argument, you havent done any research and therefor, don't know anything, and therefore have been deemed ignorant by your very own admission. Thank you very much
I have read the bill. The fact that you quote page numbers and not sections indicates that you haven't had much experience with reading laws and bills. When a bill is amended, the length can change so the things can end up on different pages. The sections, however, generally don't change except in the case of a "gut and replace". This hasn't happened to the bill in question.
I am sure that you read on some republican talking point list what pages to claim it was on.
I can and have read it and have pointed out the plane evidence of your own words that show that you have no experience in reading bills or laws and are very unlikely to have actually read this one. Posting page numbers was a dead give away. You got it from some list of republican talking points and now have nowhere to go.
oh bullshit you are not a Republican, you are not saying a single thing that is not a Republican talking point and isnt being said by only Fox News, Limburger cheesedick and Glenn im bat shit crazy Beck. You even throw in the occasional Bible thumper bullshit further proving you are an ignorant wretch.
And no dummy, not everyone who is against this is republican. I'm in economics, and this bill sucks harder than a hoover vacuum. And unless you're 3, you should be able to have enough common sense to see why and how it doesn't work. I've got good money that says that you haven't even taken the time to read any of the bill. You just blindly follow all of the other lemmings. Do some of your own thinking and read up. Stop spewing out regurgitated diatribe. In other words: Get an original thought.
oh you are in economics...and a Rocket scientist as well...arent you the intelligent person on the internet.
yeah, republican true and true. BTW, YOU havent read the bill either because the bill isnt FINIALIZED YET YOU FUCKING MORON.
Go back to watching fox news you thoughtless ape. Oh wait, I shouldnt call you that...you believe Jesus walked with the dinosaurs and not in evolution.
And RD you idiot, it doesn't have to be final. The bill I'm citing is what they are going to vote on. After that, they tack on whatever personal agenda they want. Stupid ass. Do you know how the process actually works? When you get your head out of whatever orifice its stuck in, let me know lemming
Rocket scientist is tongue in cheek you moron, but I expect a person of your caliber not to pick up on that. And I am speaking of Pelosi's bill IDIOT, the only one on the floor to be voted on dumb ass, as usual, ignorant leftist regurgitated rhetoric. Have you come up with an original thought yet. Stupid lemming. This is what happens when you give online access to idiots
Let me say it slowly for you.....WE...ARE....TALKING....ABOUT....THE...BILL.... PELOSI....SUBMITTED....FOR....A.....VOTE...ON.....10/29/09. Is this too fast for you Spicoli? We can dumb it down quite a bit more for you.
rd, let me know when you awaken from your drunken stupor and have an intelligent response, which should be somewhere between 4 to six years.....the average time it takes to get an upper education. Otherwise, save your oxygen, you'll need it between shots and chasers
How much more do you think you need to discredit yourself? Did you think calling someone else a youtube genius while saying you are an expert...on youtube was somehow going to fool someone into believing you? I mean I know because you are a Republican it means you require gullibility in others but please!
No one is going to believe you have anything to do with the economy or that you are not a repbulican other than other Republicans...
must be pass out time for you, let me know when you have completed the nearly 2000 pages of legislation to be voted on soon. Let me know how exactly you got through it on your education. Let me know how and who helped you get through all of the refer back to's. Oh you youtube genius! If only the House had you in their midst.....America would be saved! Let me know what pages cause you concern and what pages you find acceptable???? Cmon smart guy. DO IT. Idiot Tell us. Were waiting..............
if the government wants to force people to comply with health plans like compulsory vaccination, that completely destroys all possible objectionableness to eugenics. EITHER DON'T FORCE PEOPLE AROUND OR DO EUGENICS! simple as that, man.
I've had plenty of bad experience with healthcare, so I can't wait for things to change. ;D You can say what-ever you want about it, but all I hear from you is the whinning of a bunch of pampered republicans that aren't getting their way. <3 It doesn't change what's going to happen, and it doesn't make the long awaited changes to the healthcare system any less sweet to me.
It's reasonable and healthy to mistrust government power, but it's worse than naive to trust corporate power. Health insurance (not healthcare... health INSURANCE) is not like other services where competition and market forces are incentives to better service.
Health care reform is going to happen eventually. The only question is whether it's going to happen before or after the broken system that we have pulls our economy down onto our heads.
[W]e don't want a modified or watered down version of this health-care bill. We want no version of this health-care bill and no new health-care bureaucracy."
so are you for a one-payer system or an extension of Medicare? Senior citizens love medicare -- a government run health care pay system. Try to take that away from them. The big mistake Obama made with health care reform is by not simply making it a Medicare system for everyone. All he had to do was say ask your parent or grandparent if they like Medicare.
@frustratedscreenwr So if Medicare is so great why did he not just modify it and Medicaid? Instead they created a whole new bureaucratic system that no one really knows what it's impact will be. I think there is a reason you're a frustrated screen writer, time to find a real job dood. lol
"[I]t's a mistake to think of the current legislation as a health-care reform bill. It is actually a bill for the formation of a massive health-care bureaucracy charged with the task of scheming endlessly to expand its own power. The only way to prevent this kind of free-floating grant of power to the bureaucracy is to prevent it from forming in the first place, by keeping government out of medicine.
Ive traveled and lived in many countries we have the best med. service its just expencive. Everyone comes here. We need a tweaking not a giant bloated unfeeling govt. taking it over and fucking it up/ you stay healthy too
the unfortunate problem with capitalism is eventually a few companies monopolize markets. that's the current problem with health care. private insurance companies have monopolies and because of these monopolies they dictate price, and it keeps going up and up. the only way to break up the health care insurance monopoly to get costs down is for the government to offer its own insurance. it will be about 30% cheaper since it will be non-profit and medicare-efficient. that's a bargain!
why dont we just insure all Mexico, they will all be here anyway, then we can concentrate on Latin America, and acorn can sign them all up to vote, and pay them our tax money
I guess your credit rating is probably not too good, but what can you do, you can't afford to pay. The hospital eventually writes off your debt.
But what then happens to make up for the money you couldn't pay, the hospital raises its fees for everyone who can pay. Look at all the paperwork that occurs because you can't afford insurance. A lot of unneeded expense. If everyone had health insurance this merry-go-round wouldn't occur and the money saved could go to making people healthier.
Wow, you're amazing. You're absolute lack of intelligence on the fact that socialized health care is a crap system that DOESN'T WORK is amazing. Congratulations on spreading a message of sheer ignorance to all the idiots out there already buying into the concept that universal health care is the answer.
I have a friend who is going to probably going to die because he has a chronic condition -- he was born with it -- and no private insurance company will insure him. That's right -- private insurance companies do not insure people with pre-existing conditions. All private insurance companies care about is profit. The government offering insurance so my friend can get adequate private medical care is the humane thing to do. Obama deserves a lot of credit for trying to help people.
Ok, key word.. private insurance "COMPANIES" What the hell is the purpose of a company? To make money. Guess what though, hundreds of thousands of US Citiznes get medical care *EVERY DAY* thanks to private companies. Everything from major surgical procedures to the drugs they need. Even people with chronic conditions can get help from grants and research firms *IF* they are proactive in getting the help they need...and not from the government.
But the private companies have created a monopoly so there is no competition. Because there is no competition, the cost of health insurance keeps on going up -- it's doubled in the last eight years. All the government wants to do is to offer insurance to citizens at a cheaper rate -- it will be cheaper because over 30% of the cost of private health insurance is due to inefficient administration and profit. The government will offer the same insurance, but it will cost over 30% less!
Private companies have not created a monopoly, there isn't a shortage of insurance companies out there. For there to be a monopoly there has to be one or two major companies offering all the services. How about you take a freaking economics class and learn what a MONOPOLY is before you start throwing the term around? By the way, the government system won't be availble to everybody, and the middle/upper class will end up paying more in taxes to support the lower class. It's called SOCIALISM
Yep, that's about right. The GOP thinks its God. In Australia and Canada where we have free health care, the health system is much cheaper than the US healthcare. That's because the reimbursements to the doctors encourages them not to over charge, and patients will go to the free ones by choice rather than the ones that don't use the free health rebates, or what we call "bulk billing": a generic consultation fee covered by the Governenment.
And when you may have a mild health emergency issue and you make an appointment it can take you up to a week or more to get seen by your doctor. Which later will turn into a much more serious health problem.
and how much does the your government take in taxes to pay for this?
Everyone keeps forgetting that, the money to cover this has to come from somewhere. The millions who are not covered by health insurance? Guess what, their not going to be paying for it!
Why should I dip even more into my pocket, when it's hard for me to pay for things like my rent and college bills, to help pay for SOMEONE ELSE'S health insurance?
It is not taxed. It is a levy. The levy is only for those who are over the tax threshold, which is about $50k per year, and its about 3% of your income to another threshold. There is no levy on those who have full private health insurance, so you are not taxed if you have comprehensive private cover. With bulk billing, it is automatic, and just a swipe of the card and signature, and that is it...
We also have Pharmaceutical benefits where pensioners only pay $5. per prescription. If you are over the tax threshold, that is high income, you pay more. They use generic brands that you can't buy in the US. It is cheap and the Government buys bulk to save money. It is no burden on taxes this way.
This does not cover dental or optical. But the States have to improvise. In Sydney, we have a free Dental hospital where you have free dental if you are unemployed, a pensioner or a student. The dentists are usually interns from the University, most of them are Chinese students, but they do a great job, it is fully supervised and free.
Private insurance companies shouldn't be making money off the sick. Because they are, the costs of health care are out of control in the u.s. If the government doesn't take control of the problem by extending a medicare program for all or at least setting the country on that path, all manufacturing in the u.s., which absorbs health care costs, will be going bankrupt like GM and Chrysler, or worse moving to a country like Canada where government runs the health care system.
Companies making a profit? Where did this come from. Anyone with the illusion that a company that stays in business to help people needs a reality check.
I purchased my own personal health care. I had no delusion that the company I went with is trying to make money off my. I plan to use them for something major that won't keep me from getting coverage someplace else, then after they pay I plan to cancel my policy at the first rate increase for someone else that is less expensive.
I know me instead of my, I retyped a few times and missed that. Which is why I deleted my first post.
If you really want to help the cost of health care, lower the costs to health care providers. Throw out frivolous Law suits. Lower the cost of Medical Schools. Subsidize hospitals.
Cause currently the cost of health insurance is:
Medical treatment + Insurance Administration Costs
you want to go to:
Medical treatment + Insurance Administration Costs + Government Bureaucracy
The American Medical Association released a study that is on the Health Care for America Now! website. The study factually states that the major health insurance companies have monopolized the industry. Thus, there is no competition and no competitive pricing. That's why you need the federal government to offer a plan -- so there is some competition with the private sector that will lower prices.
Health Care for America Now is a biased company that is not publishing objective data. Maybe if you look into your sources more closely you would see this, but you are just looking for anything that supports your claim. Unfortunately there isn't a monopoly in health care, do you have *ANY* idea how many health insurance companies there are out there? Monopoly? Are you kidding me? You're an idiot...
The American Medical Association are the ones that are saying that the major health insurance companies have monopolies. Read the report and quit ranting. It's sounds like your a spokesperson for the health insurance industry that will lost money if the government competes with the insurance company. Competition is good for America! It's what made our country great! Monopolies, sadly, are destroying America.
Actually it's not by the AMA, maybe if you would read closely you would find that the only report on the HCAN website that deals with monopolies is *FUNDED* by HCAN and pushed by Senator Schumer (D-NY) who is from a welfare state that is screwed up to begin with...so his opinion counts for jack shit. Congratulations on being another idiot trying to spread disinformation.
No, it's the AMA -- American Medical Association -- that did the study. You're the one spreading disinformation and you probably have some health insurance industry interest. But you got to make a living I guess.
i like thtat shit !

frustratedscreenwr 1 year ago 7
@frustratedscreenwr Well for one thing, if you compare what your video says about the GOP's stance on health care, incriminating it as a plan "Death" himself would favor, to the posters Nazi Germany put out to incriminate the Jews - Portraying them as crooked and greedy - If that's propaganda, than Placing the Republican party's hand around Death's shoulder is too propaganda. Plus your video is not funny,so it has no real comedic value - this video was made to stir up disfavor with the GOP
ChadizzleFoshizzle 1 year ago
@ChadizzleFoshizzle People should stir up disfavor with the GOP. They don't give a shit about you. (unless, of course, you make over 250k a year, or you own a multi-national corporation) They only care about people before they are born. Have you noticed that they only bring up abortion when they are close to an election? Hmmm... What's up with that? The obvious answer is that it gets the base (the religious right) all fired up.

DrShaym 1 year ago

Our grandparents are on government healthcare too.....they pay for it dearly WITH monetary funds. (medicare) In upwards of 500-600 per month. When their only income is social security. Why do Americans (well I guess only the 30% now who are for the healthcare bill) feel that they should have it for free??? I say no way..
foundingfatherstoday 1 year ago
sparo...it is black and white...you add color to your life at will...at your own will....black and white is just the foundation. I too have "government healthcare" but our family pays for it dearly and I do not mean by monetary funds.
foundingfatherstoday 1 year ago
Either way I feel that "we the people" as individuals/neighbors should be responsible for our own protection ie: right to bear arms (not police). We should put out our own fires or simply just re-build (not firemen), and teach our children instead of the government/state (not teachers)...that would solve a lot of money problems too if we took responsibility instead of expecting it to be an American right.....:) happy thinking
foundingfatherstoday 1 year ago
healthcare is a personal responsibility, not a right. most Americans seem to get "our rights and responsibilities" mixed up lately. as to the comment sent to me....hum..let me think....the police, firemen, and teachers cost the taxpayers a lot less than to provide the entire legal and non- legal American population with healthcare.
foundingfatherstoday 1 year ago
America let your people riot against what is happening around us...and being forced to accept right under our noses.
foundingfatherstoday 2 years ago
We cannot be forced to accept or pay for government healthcare. It is against our rights as Americans. We do not have to be forced into paying for ANYTHING we do not want. Sure we want cigarrettes...so we will pay the tax...sure we want the gas.because we have to get around...so price is not such an issue...but healthcare I do not need or want when i have a decent one right now. Seriously....
foundingfatherstoday 2 years ago
Do you have a choice on paying for police, firemen, or teachers? Why should saving lives be private?
Spargo 2 years ago
This debt of course that I am talking about is all BEFORE a healthcare bill. What makes you think that China will not come over and claim the U.S as thier rightful property....right/wrong? In my mind a debt must always be repaid.
foundingfatherstoday 2 years ago
How will the government pay for everyone? An example is to look at Canada. Have you asked a Canadian why they come the the U.S for surgeries or medications? No, I am sure many Americans have not. This government of ours has put us so far in debt that there is no way even our great-great grandchildren can recover. Most of this debt is to China.
foundingfatherstoday 2 years ago
Will be thier motto. it is a no good situation..meaning nothing good wil come of this..EVER.
foundingfatherstoday 2 years ago
it must be sad to live in such a black and white world where things are either horrifically evil or rainbowshitting good. Tone down the extremes a bit a lot of people happier than you and I have public healthcare try to focus more on how they implement it than that they do at all.
Spargo 2 years ago
Or that the governmnet will take care of us. Our founding fathers wanted to get AWAY from BIG govenment that taxed and opressed every normal function of thier daily lives.

1 Lets make it even easier for insurance companies to rip others off so they can pass the savings along to you.
2 Don't get sick.
3 If you do get sick die quickly.
They want to make it so that states can't regulate insurance.

And those with more insurance than necessary will be taxed for that. Failure to by coverage...an IRS issued fine. Failure to pay?????? Yup. You got change!
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
I don't know if your TV still has antennas on it, but this healthcare legislation and all the subcommittee meetings where everyone is voting on amendments has been on C-Span. I have been watching C-Span for 10 years now, and this bill has been more TRANSPARENT then any other. Most of the Town Hall meeting were aired. Call your local cable company if you need to! And let google be your friend.
phillipmarch22 2 years ago
It has historically been the least transparent bill ever forged in the history of the united states. Republicans aren't even allowed behind the close doors of the democrats. Republicans have presented over 30 bills that the democrats never considered. And no, they have not shared everything on Cspan. They don't share what they will tack on to the bill after it passes. And in MOST of the townhall meetings....it was rejected. But go ahead lemming. Follow on
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
In EVERY hearing I have seen on C-Span, (and there were a lot of them), both Republicans and Democrats were there and participating. You are listening to the talking heads. They merged the bills behind closed doors, but the GOP & the public will have plenty of time to review it. I am sick & tired of the GOP bitching that they haven't been part of the process. They have said no to everything because they know that it will again make the Dems look good, kinda just like when Medicare passed.
phillipmarch22 2 years ago
Ummm, the republicans have been virtually shut out of negotiations. this is recorded. please get up to speed
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
The Republicans didn't write the bill, but they have been more than welcome to offer amendments. Over 160 of their amendments have been accepted. Trust me, you want to talk healthcare reform, I know the truth. I have been following this very closely.
phillipmarch22 2 years ago
Absolutely false
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
I ONLY watch C-Span, and YES, the Republicans were very involved in the amendment process. There are videos all over YouTube. Check it out!
phillipmarch22 2 years ago
Don't forget that the republicans promised us that they would bring their own plan to the table. This promise was made back in the spring. So far no plan from them has been seen.
Those papers that were being waved at Obama while he spoke to the joint session were blank. It was political theater. They wanted to appear to be offering a plan. They played politics instead of making an honest effort and got caught at it.
knowledgemonger 2 years ago
Good God!
phillipmarch22 2 years ago

We expect that because we know you guys do not know a thing about history other than what your leaders tell you is history.

And all of this is ok with you?
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
Yup most certainly a republican. Each statement is right from their talking points and each is false.
Reform will save nearly everyone money
It will reduce the deficit CBO says so
Abortions are specifically excluded.
You have never had to deal with an insurance company if you think the DMV is bad.
knowledgemonger 2 years ago
Here's one of MY talking points lemming. Pelosi says it won't add to the deficit. And it won't....for now. The bill doesn't go into effect until five years after its signed. During those five years, we pay in higher taxes to build up the funding. Then, the bill kicks in. Five years after that, the funding for it is no longer double what they had to work with and now, going into the next decade, when idiot is out of office, it starts to lose money, adding to the deficit. This has been proven.
charlitunaman2002 2 years ago
That is not your talking point "lemming". And you ARE a lemming because you did not take the initiative to look up what you are NOT being told by your REPUBLICAN masters.
The current amount of tax payer dollars being spent on health care AND the projected cost over the next 10 years WITH the increase in health care costs which is the FASTEST rising cost of ANY industry in the nation.
Cost projection for the next 10 years? 1.4 trillion dollars keeping things the way they are.

I have read the bill. The fact that you quote page numbers and not sections indicates that you haven't had much experience with reading laws and bills. Health care reform is going to happen eventually. The only question is whether it's going to happen before or after the broken system that we have pulls our economy down onto our heads.

so are you for a one-payer system or an extension of Medicare? Senior citizens love medicare -- a government run health care pay system. Try to take that away from them. The big mistake Obama made with health care reform is by not simply making it a Medicare system for everyone. All he had to do was say ask your parent or grandparent if they like Medicare.

"[I]t's a mistake to think of the current legislation as a health-care reform bill. It is actually a bill for the formation of a massive health-care bureaucracy charged with the task of scheming endlessly to expand its own power. The only way to prevent this kind of free-floating grant of power to the bureaucracy is to prevent it from forming in the first place, by keeping government out of medicine.

the unfortunate problem with capitalism is eventually a few companies monopolize markets. that's the current problem with health care. private insurance companies have monopolies and because of these monopolies they dictate price, and it keeps going up and up. the only way to break up the health care insurance monopoly to get costs down is for the government to offer its own insurance. it will be about 30% cheaper since it will be non-profit and medicare-efficient. that's a bargain!

why dont we just insure all Mexico, they will all be here anyway, then we can concentrate on Latin America, and acorn can sign them all up to vote, and pay them our tax money
bosstheross 2 years ago
i guess you haven't had a bad experience with the private insurance companies. stay healthy.

Obama deserves a lot of credit for trying to help people.
frustratedscreenwr 2 years ago
Ok, key word.. private insurance "COMPANIES" What the hell is the purpose of a company? To make money. Guess what though, hundreds of thousands of US Citiznes get medical care *EVERY DAY* thanks to private companies. Everything from major surgical procedures to the drugs they need. Even people with chronic conditions can get help from grants and research firms *IF* they are proactive in getting the help they need...and not from the government.
charlieboy82 2 years ago
But the private companies have created a monopoly so there is no competition. Because there is no competition, the cost of health insurance keeps on going up -- it's doubled in the last eight years. All the government wants to do is to offer insurance to citizens at a cheaper rate -- it will be cheaper because over 30% of the cost of private health insurance is due to inefficient administration and profit. The government will offer the same insurance, but it will cost over 30% less!
frustratedscreenwr 2 years ago
Private companies have not created a monopoly, there isn't a shortage of insurance companies out there. For there to be a monopoly there has to be one or two major companies offering all the services. How about you take a freaking economics class and learn what a MONOPOLY is before you start throwing the term around? By the way, the government system won't be availble to everybody, and the middle/upper class will end up paying more in taxes to support the lower class. It's called SOCIALISM

Yep, that's about right. The GOP thinks its God. In Australia and Canada where we have free health care, the health system is much cheaper than the US healthcare. That's because the reimbursements to the doctors encourages them not to over charge, and patients will go to the free ones by choice rather than the ones that don't use the free health rebates, or what we call "bulk billing": a generic consultation fee covered by the Governenment.

thanks for that info.

@SaintFletcher
And when you may have a mild health emergency issue and you make an appointment it can take you up to a week or more to get seen by your doctor. Which later will turn into a much more serious health problem.
The same goes for the Dentist but worse.
TheFuryBlogger 2 years ago
No, in Australia, in an emergency, it is immediate. With bulk billing, the medicare card is swiped automatically. No waiting.
saintfletcher 2 years ago
and how much does the your government take in taxes to pay for this?
Everyone keeps forgetting that, the money to cover this has to come from somewhere. The millions who are not covered by health insurance? Guess what, their not going to be paying for it!
Why should I dip even more into my pocket, when it's hard for me to pay for things like my rent and college bills, to help pay for SOMEONE ELSE'S health insurance?
juggernaut742 2 years ago
It is not taxed. It is a levy. The levy is only for those who are over the tax threshold, which is about $50k per year, and its about 3% of your income to another threshold. There is no levy on those who have full private health insurance, so you are not taxed if you have comprehensive private cover. With bulk billing, it is automatic, and just a swipe of the card and signature, and that is it...
saintfletcher 2 years ago
We also have Pharmaceutical benefits where pensioners only pay $5. per prescription. If you are over the tax threshold, that is high income, you pay more. They use generic brands that you can't buy in the US. It is cheap and the Government buys bulk to save money. It is no burden on taxes this way.
saintfletcher 2 years ago
This does not cover dental or optical. But the States have to improvise. In Sydney, we have a free Dental hospital where you have free dental if you are unemployed, a pensioner or a student. The dentists are usually interns from the University, most of them are Chinese students, but they do a great job, it is fully supervised and free.
saintfletcher 2 years ago

TRMerc 2 years ago

That's why you need the federal government to offer a plan -- so there is some competition with the private sector that will lower prices.
frustratedscreenwr 2 years ago
Health Care for America Now is a biased company that is not publishing objective data. Maybe if you look into your sources more closely you would see this, but you are just looking for anything that supports your claim. Unfortunately there isn't a monopoly in health care, do you have *ANY* idea how many health insurance companies there are out there? Monopoly? Are you kidding me? You're an idiot...
charlieboy82 2 years ago
The American Medical Association are the ones that are saying that the major health insurance companies have monopolies. Read the report and quit ranting. It's sounds like your a spokesperson for the health insurance industry that will lost money if the government competes with the insurance company. Competition is good for America! It's what made our country great! Monopolies, sadly, are destroying America.
frustratedscreenwr 2 years ago
Yes they have a monopoly, only because... and listen closely to this one...
The bigger name companies get the business even if they don't have a better product
Microsoft isn't the ONLY operating system out there. It isn't the most stable either. Competitors of Microsoft
Mac OS, Lynx, Unix, Portals OS, Plan 9, Real-time operating systems, and individuals who have enough programing know how to make their own
Does it look like Microsoft has a monopoly now?
TRMerc 2 years ago
Actually it's not by the AMA, maybe if you would read closely you would find that the only report on the HCAN website that deals with monopolies is *FUNDED* by HCAN and pushed by Senator Schumer (D-NY) who is from a welfare state that is screwed up to begin with...so his opinion counts for jack shit. Congratulations on being another idiot trying to spread disinformation.
charlieboy82 2 years ago
Decaffeinate.
frustratedscreenwr 2 years ago
No, it's the AMA -- American Medical Association -- that did the study. You're the one spreading disinformation and you probably have some health insurance industry interest. But you got to make a living I guess.
