@naraicks Tom Baker was asked who he thought the next Doctor would be back in 2005 when it was announced Eccleston was leaving. He then told the press he was "assured" that Eddie Izzard was next and he added his opinion he would be perfect. Shortly after it was announced in the papers that it was either Eddie Izzard or Bill Nighy depending on what tabloid you read. Hope that helps.... LTG.
