She suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, which means she is in constant pain and unable to stand for any length of time. Brown competes leaning on a stool ("a bike seat on a tripod" she calls it) which was designed and built for her at Loughborough University.
Some people cannot stand for long periods. I am one of them. I was learning to program computers and sat for too long at a time for nearly a year trying to make the computers work right and I cannot sit for more than 30 minutes at a time now because I killed my muscle by sitting on it. Different disabilities are different and not always completely disabliing
@arcangel6 I have never used a tension release but I thought that type of release stopped punching. How is she punching it, i mean is there anywhere you can see he doing it as Im not sure what Im looking for.

I don't understand, she stands up at the end of the match but then sits in wheel chair.

I didn't know paralympic are allowed to compete toe to toe with able bodied athletes. Doesn't her stool give her an added stability advantage?

@conkerer72 If you can't be that stable on two legs as on a stool, you need to check your stance and form.

@conkerer72 Actually it is the opposite

That trigger punch is rather surprising from someone at such a high level. I thought the coaches would have got rid of that straight away.

@alcosher there is nothing wrong with punching, look at Dietmar Trillus or Pat Coghlan. you just need to be able to punch *right*.

Dani is punching that release. It surprises me at that level. That will work for a period of time but it will eventually lead to problems.

@bluelagoon10023 She is using a thumb trigger release. Watch at 47 seconds, her thumb swing around at 'punch' the trigger.
