@InnocentKun Yes, I am aware of that. However, many Americans and GIs still refer to it as China Beach. It has nothing to do with China owning the beach. It is just a name. There was even an American TV show called China Beach.

@RizingBlackSun in Vietnam and many other Asian countries, light/ white/pale skin is preferred over tanned skin because the notion that the rich can stay out of the sun, while the laborers and peasants must work in the sun. For this reason, many Vietnamese women and some men will cover their faces and arms when they are forced out in the sun.... as if they were preparing to rob a bank.

No China beach, the name of beach in Da Nang is Bien Dong of Viet Nam.

I used to have to wear my pistol to go enjoy China Beach...and I would walk in the sand thinking about how it would look in the future, in 2010. It's still quite beautiful.
