Remember the Biden Palin debate? It was like Sarah Barracuda, meet Joe The Shark! Actual foreign policy and knowledge of how things work, both in politics and the world vs "I can see Russia from my house."
Look up Biden's answer about what a VP does, and look at Palin's. Says it all.
I think that with Obama wanting to show Americans that he cannot be swayed by not selecting Hillary, that he is confident and strong, that he should have stayed with his original choice, Rodney King. Mr. King has clearly demonstrated experience with Law Enforcement, can get African Americans to keep the fire going across America, and clearly won't stay down when others tell him to...he will not be beat! Move over Mr. Biden...let Rod take a rightly deserved place...
People, why are you acting all surprised. I been saying that Obama was a fraud from day one. How many facts do you need? It is true that many Hillary fans will not vote now. (well maybe they will vote for Ron Paul instead of McCain). Of course Obama was going to pick an old white man. Anyway, McCain is being painted as a war hero. Slow ppl are buying into that oil drilling BS too. McCain will probadly win. America is destined to collapse. People have to learn to sustain themselves.
Are you really that damn ignorant. Most of us whites could care less what race or gender is president. The problem is that this particular African-American is not qualified. He first came to the Continental U.S. to live when he went to college and somehow thought he was back in the 1960's. The truth is that racial prejudice is dying and that's why few were jumping up & down at his nomination. Wake up, New America expects more from any candidate running- adjust your outdated mindset!
The only way I'll vote for Obama., I've said from day ONE (1) Biden/Obama 08 - well, we screwed that up., so a Obama/Biden 08 will have to do! PS. I'm an X-Marine (Semper FI) Republican - switching party lines if Biden is on the ticket, if not Go McCain.......
I had a crazy thought of who obama might pick. I believe the wildest card of all would be Colin Powell. It would answer a lot of questions of what's really going on with his campaign. It's definitely the unexpected. I may have read a little too far into recent events in the country.I'm posting this on Friday night, so I'll be curious to see what happens. If I'm right, I know who really cost Clinton the nomination; and their name has never came up before.
But, were they to drive home the idea that Richardson was a part of the Clinton administration, remains a close friend of the family, it could have some positive effect on all of Hillary's disenchanted supporters.
But, Biden's knowledge, expertise and charisma would make him a great VP as well.
eh, I get him mixed up with someone else, didn't he take some black eyes during the savings and loan scandals? That plagarism thing? or am I confusing him with someone else....
Who cares. Obama is a liar with no experience. As his poll numbers continue to fall, it becomes clear that he will not be president no matter who he chooses as his running mate.
Too bad Bill Richardon wasn't a serious consideration for VP. He was my first choice.. He has executive experience as governor, foreign policy experience as an ambassador and a fierce advocate for diplomacy, something Obama has been in support of all along. He'd also rack up all the Western states, with strong Hispanic populations. Plus, it would be even more history-making by having 2 minorities on the ticket!
Coffee, I take it that you're a Hillary Clinton supporter. I gotta say that, not only do I think that Obama picking Biden instead of Clinton was a good for him, but it was also good for Hillary as well. Hillary wouldn't make for a good VP, that's like caging a lion.
She would have more power and influence if she would remain in the senate and possible work her way up to Majority Leader.
Yeah... "Biden recently went to Georgia and had a good apperance there" ...Cenk, you forgot to mention that Biden promised the Georgian government ONE BILLION dollars of your tax dollars. Typical bias once again from TYT!
eastwood13, very good point! Besides, shouldn't these 'other' countries handle their own businesses. Instead of always depending on us to outsource everything we've got.
Oh yeah?! Well how about this ticket (even though I haven't yet bought into Barack's stance)... Obama & Ron Paul (or even Dennis Kucinich). Biden slithers too much...
At least if Obama gets knocked off, there would at least still be hope for this country. I really don't care who's republican, democrat, left, right, whatever the hell people want to label themselves, etc...
I've stopped labelling, for the simple reason that we need to go back to the "human race party".
johnedwards1968, I just slipped those names in to throw a little variety in it. What they would bring to the ticket? I truly have no real answer at the moment. And that's what's really disturbing. No one is pioneering! No one's making my jaw drop with ecstatic hope. No one is taking it to Goliath. I know we've been sold out, but my 'gut-instinct' keeps telling me we've been "soul'd out"... Hopefully, they would bring the truth. But, like Nicholson said: "You can't handle the truth!".
I'm going for Gen. Wesley Clark. He questioned McCain on whether having the military experience alone gave him experience relevant to being president. And the media took that, and flopped it around and said he was swift-boating John McCain.
We are Biden fans in our household but I think that he is going to go with the math and pick Hillary. She had 18 million votes and he had about 18.5 million or so ---well add them up ----- that is a lot of solid votes and Obama needs them. I think it is the only practical choice
And I am NOT a Hillary supporter in fact. It is just logical
Plus if you want someone to attack McCain and the Bush connection with your 95% of the time.....well I have to say she is the Gal for the job !

I hope Obama chooses Biden. Then all the democrat hipocrytes can stoop making fun of McCain for being 72 years old. Biden is in those senior years where he often has those senior minutes. It is a terrible sin for McCain to be old; but, it is just wonderful for Biden to be old. Bothwaysobama! My name is Beau Rock and I approve this comment.
Richardson has been one of my favorites for Obama's VP choice. Unfortunately, I asked the same question to some of my more cynical friends and they responded that Obama probably doesn't think he can win with a black and latino man on the same ticket. I hope that's not the case, but you never know. I think that Richardson would take a lot of votes away from McCain because of his Arizona-New Mexico connections as well as his experience working under Bill Clinton, so I support him as the pick.
halcyon: anyone who posts as feverishly as you all this Obama nonsense, must be on the Obama Campaign payroll -or volunteer. I'm not for either candidate. They BOTH suck.
"He's an old white dude." What's that supposed to mean, huh Cenk? That racist undertone is getting worse. Don't go hating white people just because you're not white. BTW, I read that Obama is considering Chuck Hagel. Look it up.
LOL, Paris was more offence basicly calling him a old wrinkly white hair guy. you are right saying white guy not racist just like calling Obama a black guy isn't racist.
"Bush gives 40 Billion per year to Israel (the country)."
I'm certain Obama will give Israel more than Bush... Considering they've got him in their pocket. No one gets elected these days without being somewhat of a stooge to Israel. I'm not saying McInSane is the better choice... Don't fool yourself, we're screwed by the political process. To be given the choice between two evils, means you have no choice at all.
i thought he was pretty good. At least he is not a total dumbunny like John McBrain, and he is not a super prevaricator like Joe Blabbyman. I say put somebody in their who is not just a power pawn and has something else going on besided McCain and Blabbymanisms.
its gotta be joe, I haven't seen him in weeks taking the amtrak train to d.c. in wilmington,de. he usually take the train to dc everyday and it's been weeks since he's been taking the train. he's very approchable and I strongly believe he's the Dem VP.
Joe Biden voted for Alberto Gonzales. Evan Bayh didn't. Joe Biden voted for Condoleeza Rice. Evan Bayh didn't. Biden voted for Roberts and Alito. Evan Bayh didn't. Biden has a much worse record than Bayh when it comes to credit cards, bankruptcy, crime, and disease. And like Bayh, Biden voted for the war and for the Patriot Act. So I don't buy this BS that Biden is some moderate but Bayh's a right-winger.
I know it seems impossible, but I think Clinton would be a better VP pick than people think. Obama is losing ground in the polls right now, sadly...not that it means anything. I just want to know who the hell they are polling anyway, because I've never been asked. lol
I would love to have Wesley Clark or Sam Nunn, but they don't seem likely. Out of the likely ones, Biden seems good, and I'll have to look more into Kathleen Sel-whatever it is.
He also authored that bullshit 'assault' weapons ban. That might not matter to you, but it matters to a lot of us. Also, you usually have a southerner and a northerner on a ticket but not two of each.
No, No, No, No, No!!!! Bill Richardson, is the man to pick. He's got executive and tons of foreign policy experience and the Hispanic factor. Oh, and he didn't vote for the war. Joe did.
I want junk yard dog "This is Bulls***t" Biden to go for the GOP juggular or Clark....he seems cooler then a polar bears toenails but I'm thinking he could really take a GOP VP and other out if he wanted. I loved his POW statment he made on McKeatingFive a couple months back
the dems have actually a big choice of good vps (in opposite to the reps ^^), richardson could eliminate two weaknesses of obama: latino vote and foreign relations experience, kucinich would be great but certainly a gamble, biden is probably very difficult as second in command
i've always liked Biden and would be much happier with him on the ticket than Clinton or the other names being floated on the "short list". i think at heart he's a decent man trying to do some good for the country.
Yup., should have been a Biden/Obama Ticket - and at the end of that two terms, Obama/??? would have been a great 16 years., now we got 8 if Obama listens to Joe.,
Bill Richardson? He's got good foreign policy experience but he's really not that well known and wouldn't give Obama anything he doesn't already have.
Besides, a black guy and a Mexican? Half of Americans' head would explode.
Come on man. Vote for Obama no matter who he picks. He could pick Hitler's rotten decapitated head for VP and I would vote for him. McCain is more of the same.
I wouldn't vote for McCain no matter who he picked. Obama has shown himself to be nothing but a liar to me. I hope he and his party magically changes when he's elected president (I don't doubt he will be) but I wouldn't bet a cent on it.
I agree, with TheGiantRobot, Biden sealed the deal for me otherwise McCain would have gotten my Vote, because alone odds are Obama would have changed America for sure for better or worse is the question with McCain we would stand still- Joe was the best thing Obama could do - smart move
You guys riding on that need to pay attention., I voted for Bush and the Iraq War, I was a Marine in Desert Storm and wish we would have finished the Job then., Biden is the biggest voice against the handling of the war and honestly I also disagree with the handling of the war - I still voted for the war it was the right thing to do., Obama voted against and thats fine whats important is the handling forward and Biden knows more about world theatre then anyone - thats Great Judgement on Obama -
I'd like her as well. She achieved a lot in KS w/out raising taxes - that will impress Reps. She brings executive experience to the ticket, which he needs, and a demonstrated ability to reach across the aisle, which is something Obama seems serious about.
I think the people who say Hillary and/or her supporters will freak if he picks a woman aside from Hillary are wrong on both counts. I think Hillary will support whoever he picks, and the vast majority of her followers will follow suit.
obama already picked his vp you dumb idiot mother fucker

Is obama blundering his VP annoucement?
When Obama campaigners said they'd deliver on this, then changed the plan, it looks bad.
The undecided voters get a bad taste. There is a fine line between titillation and just making a jackass of yourself.
Obama has blown this one by trying to remain coy too long. Once he said he made his choice, the announcement should have followed within hours.

i thought he was pretty good. At least he is not a total dumbunny like John McBrain, and he is not a super prevaricator like Joe Blabbyman. I say put somebody in their who is not just a power pawn and has something else going on besided McCain and Blabbymanisms.
hypnofan35 3 years ago
its gotta be joe, I haven't seen him in weeks taking the amtrak train to d.c. in wilmington,de. he usually take the train to dc everyday and it's been weeks since he's been taking the train. he's very approchable and I strongly believe he's the Dem VP.

I agree Clark would be good as vice, I thought Edwards would have been good too, but his affair ruined that.
RyDawg084 3 years ago
Wesley Clark is the best
Highly respected
war hero
extensive foreign policy rcredentials
old white dude
no skeletons in the closet

sec. of state would be a better place for biden....as much as i like the dude, vp makes him worthless.
7dollarbeer 3 years ago
I know it seems impossible, but I think Clinton would be a better VP pick than people think. Obama is losing ground in the polls right now, sadly...not that it means anything. I just want to know who the hell they are polling anyway, because I've never been asked. lol
atticus05 3 years ago
yeah that is true, who are the polling for these surveys? I have never been asked also...
ERAUPRCWA 3 years ago
Meh, looked at Kathleen Sebelius's record, hasn't got the foreign policy experience he could use.
FascistJohnMcSame 3 years ago
I would love to have Wesley Clark or Sam Nunn, but they don't seem likely. Out of the likely ones, Biden seems good, and I'll have to look more into Kathleen Sel-whatever it is.
FascistJohnMcSame 3 years ago
He also authored that bullshit 'assault' weapons ban. That might not matter to you, but it matters to a lot of us. Also, you usually have a southerner and a northerner on a ticket but not two of each.

It's Kaine.
jkzupin 3 years ago
No, No, No, No, No!!!! Bill Richardson, is the man to pick. He's got executive and tons of foreign policy experience and the Hispanic factor. Oh, and he didn't vote for the war. Joe did.

How about Dennis Kucinich?
Marth48 3 years ago 3
"Oh Damn..." HA!

Wesley Clark...That's who Obama needs to pick
UGOTDAJACK 3 years ago
That's who he's going to pick. Count on it.

Even Jackie Mason liked him. I don't know if that's good or bad. LOL
voyzovrezon 3 years ago
the dems have actually a big choice of good vps (in opposite to the reps ^^), richardson could eliminate two weaknesses of obama: latino vote and foreign relations experience, kucinich would be great but certainly a gamble, biden is probably very difficult as second in command

I'm on the fence between Biden and Kane (though I will admit I'm leaning more toward Kane just cause isn't my gov) I think either would be great.

i wanted clarke too, ever since he made that comment about mccain getting shot down in an airplane not being a qualification to be president

I do like him.

I too have always said it should be Biden.
The guy has more experience in every way than McCain. Suddenly the experience factor goes away.

Wouldn't it be great if Colin Powell trotted out as VP McCain would have a heart attack

i've always liked Biden and would be much happier with him on the ticket than Clinton or the other names being floated on the "short list". i think at heart he's a decent man trying to do some good for the country.

Yup., should have been a Biden/Obama Ticket - and at the end of that two terms, Obama/??? would have been a great 16 years., now we got 8 if Obama listens to Joe.,

what about that dude from new mexico?
MacPlaya213 3 years ago
Black guy and hispanic? Is America ready for two minorities on the same ticket? I wish it was, but I don't think so.
politicalfarce 3 years ago
Bill Richardson? He's got good foreign policy experience but he's really not that well known and wouldn't give Obama anything he doesn't already have.
Besides, a black guy and a Mexican? Half of Americans' head would explode.

Bill might get a cabinet post tho
Wadaay 3 years ago
True, he's definitely got potential. I just don't think that it's his time yet.

Biden voted FOR the invasion of Iraq. I thought Obama was running on judgement?
Why isn't Russ Feingold a potential VP candidate?
jtilak 3 years ago
Dude, that's what it would take for me to vote for Obama. Kucinich would do it, too.
TheGiantRobot 3 years ago
Come on man. Vote for Obama no matter who he picks. He could pick Hitler's rotten decapitated head for VP and I would vote for him. McCain is more of the same.
p12psicop 3 years ago 2
I wouldn't vote for McCain no matter who he picked. Obama has shown himself to be nothing but a liar to me. I hope he and his party magically changes when he's elected president (I don't doubt he will be) but I wouldn't bet a cent on it.
TheGiantRobot 3 years ago
I agree, with TheGiantRobot, Biden sealed the deal for me otherwise McCain would have gotten my Vote, because alone odds are Obama would have changed America for sure for better or worse is the question with McCain we would stand still- Joe was the best thing Obama could do - smart move
lionsgatellc 3 years ago
You guys riding on that need to pay attention., I voted for Bush and the Iraq War, I was a Marine in Desert Storm and wish we would have finished the Job then., Biden is the biggest voice against the handling of the war and honestly I also disagree with the handling of the war - I still voted for the war it was the right thing to do., Obama voted against and thats fine whats important is the handling forward and Biden knows more about world theatre then anyone - thats Great Judgement on Obama -

Hehe. He'll take their lunch money.

I'm gonna take an outside guess with Sebelius...........
ScottishViking77 3 years ago
I'd like her as well. She achieved a lot in KS w/out raising taxes - that will impress Reps. She brings executive experience to the ticket, which he needs, and a demonstrated ability to reach across the aisle, which is something Obama seems serious about.
I think the people who say Hillary and/or her supporters will freak if he picks a woman aside from Hillary are wrong on both counts. I think Hillary will support whoever he picks, and the vast majority of her followers will follow suit.
FeelFreeToArgue 3 years ago
Biden is a wise choice, and he would school Obama, because Obama's definitely inexperienced.
