This video is such crap, she doesn't even look like she knows how to ride :P I hate it when people try to make it look like its easy and like anyone can do it. The truth is, only a few people can really ride a horse, not just sit on one like people that go to dude ranches and such do.
When getting on the horse they said to put your RIGHT hand on the pommel or horn! I am pretty sure it is the left hand because for as long as I've been riding I put my left hand on the pommel.
My instructed thinks that you have to keep your knees out its so anoyying I just want to ride normal when I own a horse I'm not going to keep my legs out I mean it doesn't bother the horse I sometimes keep my legs in secretley and the horse doesn't notice
You cant just get on a horse and know what to do... riding isnt easy like that, a horse isnt a toy to be messed up on and expected to be fixed when someone who knows what its doing gets on it!
Hey!Hey!Hey! Let's serch her mistakes =D there are so many of them!!! =D If riding would be so easy, it wouldn't interest me! Good that I know, that it is much much much more than having a perfect outfit a saddle and a fucking hornest horse for riding! That clothes would look great, when she falls down in the mud! =D and I would laugh!!!
I am breaking a filly at the moment and, without a saddle, she stands for me to get on, and walks on with voice commands. I have taken her from a 2 year old fresh from the field through long reining, lunging and basic commands to being on her back in 4 months. I've now had her for 9 months and she follows me everywhere. I trust her with my life and she would do anything for me. I'm 13. If I'd been taught the stuff in thos vid in my first lesso
when i pull my horse up. id prefer to half hault other then pull back on both reins and sit deep in the saddle and have my feet foward and heels right down i case the horse stops way too fast and i atleast have a way to stop me swinging foward onto the horses neck or shoulder....
Wow... looks like I wasted thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours training and working with my horse to learn when I could have just watched a 2 minute video. Silly me.
@discojumper110 so you actually learned just from this video? because im getting a horse soon and i dont want to pay for classes, my father had horses and he said he would teach me
@iRideArabs lol I love how instructors and safe freaks are like NEVER do this and DON"T do that. yet I do all of those things and I'm still alive! hahah!! lol they worry to much :)
A) That horse needs more training, he needs to learn not to walk off. That is the start of very bad habits!
B)Those commands may not work on every horse.
C)DON'T pull oh a horse like that. A well trained horse can feel just a change in pressure that tells him to halt. All of these things are taught in a simple beginners class at just about any camp or barn...
Some of the instructions are so wrong like mounting from the right ! When you try to teach somenone something shouldn't it be best if you check how to do it first ? Anyway the horse looks nice and the girl seems to be thinking "God this is so not right !" Anyway just saying
@Rachiehroadrage wow i fell of a horse just today. i have a MEGACUT on my leg and I did not blame the horse at all! it was me! you were never around horses so maybe the horse didn't know you so she reared or bucked!
um...horses don't rear back when the reins are pulled back on unless you really jerk on them, then they might, but all you'll get them to do is to back up...this makes horseback riding look way too easy...and it only if you have a push button horse...with a green one...hang on til they're trained....
@PeaceOfSanFrancisco How is that lucky? It's normal, standard procedure. You really shouldn't have to make any noise at all, actually, and the horse should begin walking as soon as you squeeze lightly with your calves.
@xpaupx You're right...you get a horse to walk by kicking its sides with your heels and making a clicking sound with your mouth. At least that's how you do it in western riding. I've never done English riding though.
-Technically, a riding block isn't optional. Technically. Getting on off of the ground is a little stressful on the horse's back.
-Unless you have the jumpiest horse ever, it's generally safe to approach from behind, as long as you don't do something stupid like yell loudly or make sudden movements.
-Make sure your stirrups are the right length, the rider here has them too short.
-Don't pull UP when you pull back. Just pull BACK.
-Saying "woah" is optional, as it may teach your horse not to stop when you pull on the reins until you say "woah". The goal is for the horse to stop when you pull on the reins.
God this video is stupid...
