Absolutly nothing wrong with that call, he's in the paint and when your that type of player who rides the fine line as much as he can he deserves even the closest call against him. @22prince22billups1 Hahaha takes a beating my ass, this isn't the old NHL anymore where players actually had to pay for standing in front of the net, D-men going into corners take more of a beating now than someone standing in front of the net. He is a terrible skater compared to NHL standards. The new rules made it possible for someone who has a "tipping" ability to have that much of an impact in a game which is sad. I'm not a Penguin fan just a true hockey fan.

I don't need to know the rule book, Holmstrom did not interfere with Giguere's ability to make a save. The Red Wings scored a goal exactly like this last night, on top of countless more in between the one in this vid and the one last night that are exactly the same and they don't get called off. Except, on occasion, when they do, because the refs fuck up. They fucked up, this was a good goal.

It actually doesn't matter in this situation. Holmstrom had his feet in the crease and Giguere tried to come out to challenge the puck. In the rulebook, it says that the goalie has the opportunity to make a play on the puck.

Refs all over the NHL have been doing this to the players. I was watching this game when it happened and I nearly fell my seat when I saw the call. Just today Aaron Downey got hit from behind from Peterson, full speed, of Buffalo, Downey' s face inches from the boards, but did the ref call it? nope, instead Downey got up and Peterson instigated for a fight. Of course being the bitch, the Ref, called Downey for roughing. Are you f***ing kidding me? The NHL needs to take there Refs back to school!
