Nixon was happy with mao who killed millions but hated allende who was democratically elected, and then conservatives were angry when obama meet chavez.
This is a powerful scene, I like specially when Mao says "the real war is in us, history is a sympthom of our desease"...whatever he really said this or not it is a very powerful truth
here oliver stone goes again--rewriting history. because bill o'reilly recently said that nixon didn't meet chairman mao. and we all know that bill o'reilly is never wrong.
that is the most exagerated version of Mao ever EVER, Mao don't talk like that, Mao got manners and is a civilized. Yeah maybe westerners should have seen the alternate leader Mr. Chiang Kai Shek who ordered massive masscres and had his opponents death. Most of the Mao's opponents was sent to reeducation. Chiang also have the most corrupt officials in command thank you oliver stone for being a low life one sided bich.
Nixon was #1 in taking a stand against China and talking bad about Mao, but when Khrushchev came to power Russia and China were on the verge of going to war things changed. So it is true how weird alliances are made around the world , but if you look at the documented speech it was nothing like what Oliver stone portrayed.
This is ridiculous. Chiang isn't even mentioned in this scene or, as far as I remember, anywhere in this whole movie. To depict Mao, rightfully, as a cynical, twisted old emperor who didn't care how much misery he inflicted on the world, does not somehow exonerate or lift up Chiang. You've got your knickers in a twist for no reason.

I actually heard Mao and Nixon got along. So well, that the Soviets were worried about such a relationship.
I don't know if this is an exact or related speech from Mao. He sounds way to fucking creepy.
