i know how you feel my grandpa had lung cancer and when i heard the bad news that he died i cried all day and all night and i cry out for you and your dad and i know your dad is in heaven where he belongs haleluya.

This is so sad :( my grandfather died from lungcancer, he did not smoke. But he had worked with Asbestos in his early years and that is not to good, and he got lung cancer, he suffered terribly and was afraid of death :(, And 3 days before his birthday. This is hard for evryone but dying is a part of life, and we all have to accept it. Blessings upon you and your family!

This is so sad but always remember your dad "Is in a better place now son" thats what my grandpa said to me when my grandma passed in the hospital she deid of Hepatitous C because she needed blood back in the 70's I belive and received infected blood but unfoutantly My grandpa died back in August of 08 from a blood clought that was in his leg went into his lungs but he died like he wanted he did not want to suffer or die in a hospital may your father my grandpa and grandma rest in heaven

I'm really sorry about your loss. My grandfather died at 72 from lung cancer and he did smoke for many years. My mom cries every time she tells the story of his life because the last few years were such a struggle for the both of them. He developed a growth in his right lung and after the surgery he was great until he caught pneumonia and was too weak to live... so he was a sickly man on a hospital bed for years before he past away. He was a good man, fought in WWII, and didn't deserve to die;-(
I think 80% of all lung cancer victims are smokers. My grandfather died of it and went through the same progression as your dad. It's ugly and cruel, just a horrible disease.
My cousin died April 20th 2007 from lung cancer, which had rapidly spread throughout her body. I have also had many other people in my family who have had and died from cancer, as well as family friends.

During those 6 months he lived, we was able to get a closer relationship and my kids was able to be around him more than ever. Only thing I wish I could have done differant was spend as much time as possible with him and cherish him and treat him as a King. I'm sorry. I had it in my upper right lobe. They found it early, preformed a lobe ectomy, and I only have 80% lung function. It stinks to have cancer when you are a non-smoker. I am glad it did not spread to any other organs. They paralized my vocal cord, so I sounded like minnie mouse, until I had an injection and sound normal. This video was touching, I am glad I didn't die and miss my children's graduation.

Your video made me cry. My mom died a few weeks ago from lung cancer, though she was never officially diagnosed. A tumour found Oct 18th, she died Dec 5th and they hadn't been able to get a biopsy. I miss her so much. The images of the canula, the weight loss... so sad. The only thing that is keeping me from losing it is knowing mom is with God. I just quit smoking yesterday. I started only 5 years ago when I was 36. Even though I have only smoked 5 years of my 41 years, it is the most difficult thing I have ever done. My wife's dad also had lung cancer in 2002. He had an operation. As of now he is doing OK. Doctors had said he has about 6 years to live. As of today (2009), its been 7 years. He could be one of the 14% who survives the lung cancer. But still a chance that the cancer will get him. He is around 60

Your video made me cry. My mom died a few weeks ago from lung cancer, though she was never officially diagnosed. A tumour found Oct 18th, she died Dec 5th and they hadn't been able to get a biopsy. I miss her so much. The images of the canula, the weight loss... so sad. The only thing that is keeping me from losing it is knowing mom is with God. I try not to think of her as in the past, but rather in the future, with God. Bless you and your dad.

Hi Candi, I know what went through, My dad also pased away from the same illness. He got diagnos October 2008 Mars 18 2009 it was all over. I beleive in Allah u believe in jesus and gud, We say Allah u say God but the same god. Hope they both rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Father looked so tired before he died. Cancer is a horrible disease and it upsets me how much money the medical establishment and big pharma make off of cancer and don't want a cure because the profit is in the trillions. Hospitals and doctors would go bankrupt if it wouldn't be for cancer. My good friend just died at the age of 38 . She lived in Europe. They gave her so much chemo, even in pills that her liver shut down completely. Thanks for sharing!

My friend just passed away 3 days ago from lung cancer, and pancreas cancer, pneumonia, and emphyzyma...he didnt know until he collapsed...5 days later, he was gone...i was his best friend..and i moved from Canada to Austria,and didnt have time to make arrangements...he died on wednesday, and was laid to rest yesterday..rip Chicken..55 yrs old xx

I can not watch this video without crying. My grandpa passed away 6 months after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. So the photos of Edward reminded me alot of my grandpa. It's okay to cry. I will always miss my grandpa.

I just quit smoking yesterday. I started only 5 years ago when I was 36. Even though I have only smoked 5 years of my 41 years, it is the most difficult thing I have ever done. It is nothing compared to what you and your father have had to bear. I am favoriting this video and everytime I have an urge to smoke, I will watch this. Bless you for sharing it. My wife's dad also had lung cancer in 2002. He had an operation. As of now he is doing OK. Doctors had said he has about 6 years to live. As of today (2009), its been 7 years. He could be one of the 14% who survives the lung cancer. But still a chance that the cancer will get him. He is around 60
