  • Hell yeah man!!! let that baby talk. NIce BIKE!!! looking a 06 this week hope you post more vids of riding when it warms up

  • looks a little like a '71 H-D FX Super Glide.

  • she's a bueaty

  • @peugteobike Thanks!

  • did jetting change the fuel millage?

    those pipes sound great.

    pl

  • @sapiscnn

I really don't know what impact the jetting alone had on the mileage. I did the rear sprocket change, pipes, and jetting really close together so it's difficult to pinpoint the specific impact each had. I would imagine the rear sprocket change improved mileage the most, just because I wasn't winding it out in every gear.

    Hope this helps!

  • @SuperYouthpastor

Glad you liked it! Hands down the best mod to a Rebel has got to be the pipes (although changing the rear sprocket was also essential for me as I used to commute several hours by interstate).

  • Comment removed

  • I put these pipes on my Rebel a few months ago just because of this video...best decision ever. Thanks man!

  • @jjkftw

Glad they worked out for you...made a huge difference to mine!

  • bad ass, i have seen a few others with jardines like this but they are kind of whiney, is it because yours is jetted or just the mic?

  • @Daytonator95

IIRC the jetting didn't change the sound much if any. The bike sounds exactly as it does in the video...I pulled up to a Harley rally once and heads were turning as I was pulling up, small bike but very similar sound.

    Hope this helps!

  • @1CrazyHillBilly where did you get the pipes and where did you get the jet kits, and how much was it? thanks

  • How much money is an exaust Like this one?? And can u replace it urself????

  • @Hector3158

The exhaust price varies, but you can definitely replace it yourself if you're handy with a wrench. It's been quite a few years since I made the exhaust switch, but IIRC it was about $300 total for the exhaust, and that included having a shop do the install. Hope this helps!

  • Can you get the 2009 in that color?

  • I listened to like 5 different bikes on here with this exhaust after hearing yours.. and none sound as good as yours... do you have other mods? is rejetting the carbs the difference?

  • @italibello

Honestly, I can't remember if the bike sounded any different with just the pipes done (it's been a while back). IIRC, it sounded similar, but a little more harsh...jetting the carbs smoothed everything out.

  • wow thats a 250? sounds great!

  • If thats the candy orange color i have the same =] , my 250 has stock pipes right now but i definetley want these on it now, starting to hate the sissy moan it makes ><

  • @CmoreBuhts

The jardine pipes definitely give it a mean sound....and I felt like it helped with cars knowing I was there (had more than one instance where a car veered into me and I either got bumped or almost ate the curb trying to avoid getting hit).

  • @1CrazyHillBilly How much are they, and is it easy to install yourself rather than going to a shop, what tools would you need if you know, that would help alot thanks

  • Hey crazyhillbilly, pipes sound Awesome....I got a ? for ya....i got the same pipes, just rejetted it (1 size up on the slow jet) but i'm still getting some slight popping when i chop the throttle, do you have the same?i'm just nervous on running to hot. did you find out what size jets they put in????

  • @MrBkool7

I did still have some slight popping when I came off the throttle, but the shop said it was just a normal. I never had any more discoloration of the pipes. I've called the shop, but have yet to get a response on what size jets they put in. Hope this helps!

    Enjoy the ride

  • @1CrazyHillBilly I'm having my mechanic put in a bigger idle jet tomorrow and test a couple of different sizes. If I find one that gets rid of all the popping, I will pass the information on to you.

  • how well does this bike handle hwy speeds

  • Great pipes!... Would the back foot pegs have to be removed to install these Jardine pipes on the Honda 250 Rebel? And, also, if you purchase the pipes from an online source, would they include all the parts and nuts and bolts necessary for complete installation? Thanks CrazyHillBilly

  • @gdarquea

No need to do any modifications to the rear foot pegs. The pipes come with all necessary hardware, and install very quickly from what I hear (I had a shop do the work for me). Happy riding!

  • Hey 1CrazyHillBilly, I Found that on youtube that there was a Shadow with Jardine Pipes, but I bet if you have the honda rewards program, I bet you could probably get those pipes and put it on. I found that my local dealer sells those Jardine Pipes for what looks like most Honda cruisers that I can see.

  • This is how I want my little 250 to sound. Sexxx

  • @CarusoZ28 Believe me, it sounds even better in person. I couldn't be happier with the result of the Jardine pipes (and the rear sprocket change...made highway riding a joy).

  • @1CrazyHillBilly

Sweet I'm excited to put these on now.

  • @1CrazyHillBilly do they still make this?

  • @brian93ist Yes, they still make these pipes. If you do a search for Jardine Pipes Honda Rebel, there are a couple sites that will pop up. When I bought mine, the shop placed the order so I received a discount off the MSRP.

  • hey 1CrazyHillBilly: This is what my Rebel sounds like. Maybe that is why people plug their ears when I drive by. :) LOL It is funny to see people plug their ears when I ride by in their "Cages", however, it is unsafe to do that, and it shows me how stupid people can be. Loud Pipes definately save lives, especially mine on the "mean and unforgiving streets of the Northwest Arkansas Empire". :)

  • @renegadebiker24 Couldn't agree more. I just got a Shadow, and it absolutely needs some louder pipes. I've had a few close calls already on my commute to work b/c it just doesn't put out enough sound for the cagers to hear me.

  • @1CrazyHillBilly I wonder why they don't make those pipes standard issue on most motorcycles that Honda sells :) It seems to me that cagers will only notice a person if it has those Jardine pipes and nothing else. Those pipes definately rattle the cagers's windows and brains as well. :) You might have to look into seeing if they sell it for the Shadow as well or if it is just for the Rebel.

  • Got to love those Jardine Pipes. :) It makes people look out for me on the road with my 2005 Honda Rebel. I like this video, but the real thing is so much louder in person. Maybe that is why some of my neighbors in the mobile home park where I am at complains that it is way too loud. I have been on Patriot Guard Missions here in Northwest Arkansas, and some harley riders are amazed by how loud it is when I am in a procession heading down the interstate.

  • @renegadebiker24 Yeah, the sound really is much louder in person. I went to a Harley rally/bike show about a year ago, and it was amazing how many of the guys kept coming up asking me what I had done to the bike. It turned more heads than most of the other bikes just b/c of the sound coming from that size of a bike. I definitely feel safer on a bike with loud pipes when driving in heavy traffic!

  • hi. did you install the pipes yourself? did the pipes come with gaskets? i plan on getting these kind of pipes for my wife's rebel but would want to do the install myself to save some bucks. I'm having trouble finding what the torque should be on the head pipes. also, i've heard that some bikes don't need rejetting. should i wait until the pipe blues? i still have some leftover bluejob powder :)

  • That sounds so awesome.

How much did the Jardine pipes and getting the carbs jetted cost you all together?

  • @Nightwithe

That would be the smallest harley I have ever seen...looks more like a Honda Rebel to me...guess your eye sight is a total fail

  • @Nightwithe you sir are a dum dum

  • @Nightwithe It looks nothing like a harley...

  • @Nightwithe lol douch read the description... stupid shit.

  • you need a video rideing it

  • did you have to rejet the carb because i noticed some bluing on your pipes.

  • Real nice sound for a 250.

  • Hi just got a honda rebel 250, I will not be able to ride it until 8th dec 2009.

How much are these pipes and can anyone install them or do you need a gasket inbetween pipes and engine.

    Thanks

  • can you get them in the UK??

    How much?

  • heyy that sounds so awesome..

i have a 125 rebel.. do you think they would work on that.. or would the bike be too small? i would really love a set

  • Is that a 250? The engine looks huge!

  • Bone stock 250 engine other than the jetting on the carbs.

  • interesting lol

  • lol this is probably the most stupid noob question you've gotten but what exactly is jetting the carbs? i just bought these jardine pipes for my '99 rebel and i wanna do whatever i can to get it purring like yours :P

  • Jetting the carbs refers to changing the jet size, which regulates the amount of fuel delivered to the carb. If you run the bike with the pipes, but without jetting, you may experience a blueing of the pipes due to the temperature being incorrect. Changing jet sizes (think of it as installing a tube with a larger/smaller inner diameter) will correct this. Any shop should be able to do this for you relatively cheap.

  • ohh ok awesome, thanks man! i'll be sure to get that done before I whack on the pipes :D

  • At highway speeds it actually seems less loud due to the wind noise etc. In town is when I notice the sound the most, but it's not unpleasant by any means...I love it!

  • CrazyHillBilly: Wow, nice job!!! I just talked to my Rebel dealer re. jets etc and his comment noted he has never seen a jet kit for a bike less then 400cc. Myself, I think the reason is limited heat from smaller cc bike vs the big bike. The dealer noted to enrich the fuel via Pilot Screw but did not say #'s of turns. Any help from you would be great. My "J" pipes should be here 07-07-09. How many teeth on the present rear sproket? Down to 30 t would help out. Thank you looking for info

  • The jetting was definitely needed. I didn't jet it right away and the pipes started turning blue on me (the pilot screw adjustment just wasn't enough). Put over 9k miles on it since everything was completed without any issue at all. I'm picking up my drag bike from the shop next week so I'll ask them what size jets they used.

Original rear sprocket is 33T, but changing it to the 30T is awesome for highway riding.

Lemme know if there's anything more I can help with.

  • Hi- I recently came across your bike and had to comment it has to be the most awesome sounding rebel 250 I have ever heard, and had no idea that a smaller motorcycle could sound like such a big dog. I'm planning on buying a bike in the near future and after not riding street bikes for nearly 15 years, I'm getting back into it. I would love to have a bike that sounds like yours. Do you know if they removed the baffling in your pipes and the jet size that they went with?? Any information??

  • there's nothing special

    it's an old hotrod trick

if you lower the idle from about 1000rpm to about 650-700rpm then it will idle rougher and sound like it's cammed thus giving you that "big dog" sound

  • Still on the fence about one of these... I'm 5'9" and 200lbs... don't need it for highways, mostly just cruising around. But the price tag vs the Shadow is MUCH nicer!

  • You shouldn't have any troubles with the Rebel. I would probably get a set of highway pegs so you can stretch out, but other than that it's a perfect around town cruiser. I routinely do 4 hour highway rides as well, and it's not uncomfortable (although there are times I would like a bit more power, but then my gas mileage would suffer).

  • If you run it a little rich, does it have a deeper tone??

  • is it true that for anyone over 5'11" the rebel might not be very comfortable

  • Not necessarily. It all depends on your body proportions. I know a ton of folks over 6 ft that ride Rebels and have no problem at all with them. Personally, I would look into getting highway pegs if you're that tall, as it would allow you to stretch out a bit more.

  • have u looked at the Kawasaki vulcan 500 very nice bike

  • nice

  • how tall are you? i want a height comparison cause im 6'2 and concerned if its big enough for me

  • im 6'1" ~200lbs, i ride one of these around town... its big enough if you dont plan on riding for more than an hour or two... highways are a no-no though, with me on it the bike tops out at around 76 with no gear or cargo and takes quite a while to get there... it just doesnt have the torque for me to even bother with a sprocket fix... if you arent going anywhere on interstates or highways i would say go for it... if you are... get at least a 400...

  • the suzuki GZ250 is a nice little bike it looks bigger than what it is and pretty quick to if u want a 250 for short term highway riding get one of those

  • ke chuladas son las rebel 250 yo tengo una

  • That sounds niiiiiiiiice for a 234cc! I want a rebel I'm sick of my 50cc yamaha C3 scooter I want to get the traffic off of my back.

  • The pipes by themselves will not add top end speed (in my opinion), but they will add torque. I changed the rear sprocket in order to add top end speed (cheap $25 fix and works great). Hope this helps!

  • What size sprocket? I have a 2006 Rebel would love to add a little more mph

  • Changed the rear sprocket to a 30T. Nice cheap fix and does wonders for highway cruising.

  • how much would it cost to get a mechanic to install a 30T? I dont know sh*t about bikes

  • Shouldn't take a mechanic more than an hour; it's pretty easy. Part itself is less than $30.

  • On my Rebel 125 I can reach 90 km/h. Previos owner told me 120 km/h is maximum. But that is probably for new bike. My Rebel also has 35000 km in wheels, so ...

  • That's interesting. I know my 250 Rebel will bury the speedo at 85+ mph regularly during my highway riding, but that's to be expected due to the difference in engine sizes.

    Happy riding!

  • i know this is the 250 version, but i can only get a 125 cc soon and i was wondering if you know the speed of the 125cc version ? cheers :-)

  • Love the pipes! I am looking to order a set but can not find info on jetting anywhere... Do you have any idea of the jetting the shop pt in your bike? Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • 125cc,250cc or bigger?

  • 250 cc Honda Rebel (2005 model year).

  • So,...I'm curious to know what jetting you ended up with. Did you go richer? Were you able to find a jetting kit? Did the shop do that mod? Please share! I've considered the Jardine pipes, but fear the unknown of the jetting job. With everything else remaining stock, I wonder if jetting recommendations are outlined with the product.

  • The shop did the jetting for me (and the cost was extremely low), so I don't know much about details. Definitely runs out great now though. Can't recommend the pipes/jetting/lower rear sprocket enough.

  • Frog: I have my "J" pipes on order. My H Dealer said he had never seen a jet kit for a bike less then 400cc. Suggested reseting pilot screw to the rich side but did not state #'s of turns. He and I agree the smaller bikes do not produce the heat of the larger bike so doing jet work is probably not required. Hope this helps. I plan on going 1/2 turn rich, like adj fo elev and low land except rich v lean.

  • Every scooter or bike I've ever owned has been modded and that defiitely included jetting (ranged from 50cc-150cc scoots and bikes up to 1000cc. I'm no mechanic, but I did notice a major difference after the jetting.

  • Nice bike.

  • Thanks!

  • HTH = Hope This Helps

  • whats HTH?

  • that bike sounds way better than stock. sweet

  • what does "jetted" mean?

  • Jetting refers to changing the jet sizes of the carb to compensate for the change in air/fuel mixture which results from changes to the exhaust system. The new exhaust requires a different jet size to achieve the appropriate air/fuel mixture, which means you have to change the jet (otherwise your exhaust will start turning blue, etc.). HTH

  • 1CrazyHillBilly: Wow, thank you for the note. Can you please provide the size #'s for the jets?? Dealer said not an issue as he had never seen a jet kit for a bike less then 400cc. Again thank you and those jet #'s would sure help.

  • Have you noticed a difference in gas mileage with your new pipes? I am routinely getting no less than 81 mpg with my 2007 Rebel. Gas mileage is the original reason that I bought the Rebel but I have to admit I'm addicted to it now! I want to get the Jardine pipes but I don't want my mileage to decrease.

  • I haven't really noticed a change in mileage with the pipes. I travel 4 hours each way on the interstate and between the pipes and the rear sprocket change (drop to 30T), the Rebel is perfect for highway riding now. HTH

  • CrazyBilly, I just ordered my jardine pipes too ;) I hope mine sound bad as as yours!

because remember, loud pipes save lives!!!

    ride safe.

  • I don't know the exact top speed, but I can tell you that it will now easily bury the stock speedo (my gauge tops out at 85 mph). HTH

  • crazy bill how fast does it go since you put the pipes on it and had it jetted.

  • i seen them on west end motorsports web sight for 287 $

  • Another question, where did you buy them? I saw them online @ jardine's web page for $320, and of course doesn't include installation.

Are you planning to do some extra work to your bike?? I do, but I don't know where to go. I have in mind something like the guy that shopped his Rebel bike (kreeperjc), have you seen it?

    thanks!

  • The shop that installed the pipes also ordered them, so I'm not sure where they got them from. Other than adding some more storage (sissy bar, rack, and maybe saddle bags) I'm done with customizing. I'm in grad school and I just don't have the extra cash to blow on it.

  • your bike really sounds awesome, what kinda gas milage are you getting.

  • Gas mileage hasn't changed at all from what I can tell. I've yet to hit the reserve prior to filling up, and I always get 120+ miles between fills. HTH

  • NICE.

  • You just sold me on a set. Definite improvemnet.
