@AyaxTelemonio yes your'e right. adolf bastard.. er i mean hitler used this... the old romans used this symbol als well. they called it sometimes sun wheel... even the celtic tribes..
this goes to show that they work very hard to create great music. like how a potter creates the shape of the bowl before carving the decorations into the side of it. this is the bowl and the final recording has all the decorations.
Paul was great, but in my opinion once Justin joined the band they become amazing. To me what defines there sound is Danny and Justin. They are the driving force behind their songs, and it goes well beyond a normal rhythm section. Then with Adam and Maynard it turns into manna from the cosmos. This is coming from a long time guitar player who considers Adam Jones his biggest influence.
I'm willing to bet that this and those other demos that led to aenema were being played at the live shows when opiate was recorded... how would their shows only be 2 songs otherwise?
Any demo that I've put out, about 6-7 w/my bands and several with other acts, were done in the studio as studio recordings. If you get signed then you have the financial backing/option to use the label's various studios/producers which results in a higher quality but more expensive and less raw recording. Some people like the rawness of demos since they're less synthetic or more organic and less processed. I kind of prefer the higher quality recordings but that's just me.
wow this is amazing... haha most demo versions from bands songs are terrible, but they have millions of dollars worth of studio equipment to help save them! :) just goes to show you tools potential
@kingTOOL These, as well as what is commonly referred to as the 'Undertow outtakes' are sourced from a cassette that was probably compiled just about when Paul had left and Tool were looking for his replacement (September'95). That cassette had been copied a couple of times before these tracks 'leaked' a couple of years ago. No further information is available, although one could say with near certainty that the Aenima demos were recorded in early or mid 1995.
no way i prefer the demo, lol...i like the harsh sounds and ruggedness of demo's...but yeah some demos are really bad, but i kinda liked this one.....lol
sorry i really don't have time to answer every tepid little post from every one of my insignificant little fans. but since you're such a good little asslicker, here's your response: eat a big bag of shit, spawn22222222222. happy now?
Yeah, that was such a MATURE response to everything. The fact that you say I have no life for shareing my logic, yet you spend your life doing something you hate, shows how much of a fucking hypocrite you are.
Sorry, but Walmart would be the very last place to find(besides they do not have a contract with them like many other artist do now)! Best Buy sometimes carrys some rare shit or Ebay or Amazon.
lol. I know dude, but thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't dissing Tool by the way if you thought that, I was replying to the jerk below who said Tool sucks dick. I thought I'd make fun of him.
...with a momma joke. oh boy how amazingly originally funny and witty you are. what are you, like 12? that would explain your juvenile loserness and blind brainwashed following of this shitty band that plays shitty music for shitty people.
I'm sorry, I thought at first the momma joke would be far too complex and advanced for your simple mind to comprehend. That's the only reason I used it. Anything else I could use as a comeback I thought you wouldn't get, being the simpleton you are. That response joke you used to, "rekounas" question, shows you're just as bad as me. You fucking hypocrite.
Oh! You like, "Primus". Excuse me for not understanding how bland and simple you have of a personality. I didn't see that at first. Tool is an amazing band, that pratically started a revolution in originality and artistic style in music. They influenced most Nu-metal bands such as the famous Korn, and a fresh start for a new genre began because of the originality from Tool. Then there is Primus with such EXCITEING and AMAZING songs like, "My Name Is Mud." (sarcasm) In case you didn't catch it.
iwas twenty when i found a friend in tool im now thirtyseven there the only ones who let me see through my spiritual blindness dont ever let go of my shaking hand lovetoolforever thank you los angeles
ha, the final version is definitely better. my fav song of all time. Its cool to hear these demos though, you get a sense of their thought processes for writing music
What does Maynard say at 3:22 - 3:34 after he Hails "But i'd trade it all for just a little piece of mind". Tried to listen as hard as I could, but no luck of interpretation. I also looked up the lyrics and it skips this stanza. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Not as it was intended... but it is nice to hear how far they came along before the final mix. Each member improved the piece considerably before they released it... and then the Salival version showed many the other side of intestatcy...
holy fucking shit ...always my fave and now you made it better for me ....live on salival was awesome too but to hear the root of it all no polish ..and still fucking awesome ....TOOL IS THE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a pleasure to hear. I love stuff like this. Hearing where the song was at one point and then listening to where it ended up is a remarkable journey.
the salival version of this song is the most emotionally driven song i've ever heard, it's truly amazing. tool is so god damned good at what they do

Paul played awesome bass but as Tool's songs became more intricate he seemed a bit tone deaf......one thing that Justin is not.

demos are bands getting together and playing their music, basically live but without audience. studio recordings are so much different.
