Noctua NH-C14 Installation

I recently installed one of these on an older EVGA 680i Motherboard inside a Lian-Li PC-33 and I nearly ragequit with the clearance towards the PSU.

Not sure if I was just lucky to be able to install this Monster or if the standards were calulated to that extreme.

Will this work with the Corsair Vengeance? I am in between this and the NH-D14 by Noctua.

you put the brackets on upside down.. you can clearly see at 2:30 that they don't line up with the coolers base because they're facing the wrong way.

@xXQuickpawXx No you're wrong that is how they go. He installed everything correctly. I'm guessing you have never read the instructions like some of us.

@lolSoloCreep Instructions are different for AMD and Intel platforms. I'm on an intel chip, so my instructions told me to do it opposite to the video. If hes running AMD then I retract my comment, otherwise it stands.

To save SATA ports. You can run a DVD/RW/CD/Re-right drive off one and will work just fine or 2 if you wanted. I really don't think IDE will ever die. lol

Would you recommend placing all the cables and such first?

When i installed my Cooler Master V10, i put the cables and etc in last, was a pain in the ass.

@SuperDrsela normal sized ram will go fine, dominator/vengeance/ocz reaper/kingston h2o won't go fine except if you remove the fan close to the mb

Nice video. One thing I would like to add is that there are three configurations for the fans. 1) 2 fans, 2) Fan on outside only, and 3) fan on inside only. If your memory has high heat spreaders, you will have to remove the inside fan. *not as ideal*

and the mounting? pain in the ass. you can easily damage you motherboard if you slip off that screw.
