  • can us ub me please i really like your layout

  • Blimey, I've still got the Dapol church and loco shed from the layout I built with my father as a youngster. Rest of the layout got broken up after I moved out. Most of it's been boxed up. Hopefully it will see the light of day again

  • You've done a really nice job there .. thanks for sharing .. 5*

  • Nice and awesome you got there. Creative and patient must be the key here am i right? keep it up good info

  • Thanks for the comment kapcai69, sorry I'm a bit late replying.... Creative? I suppose so. but patient? Not me! Acrylics are sooo easy to use that you can splash it about knowing that if it doesn't work, you can easily do it again and it dries with a lot thinner coat than enamel that you can just overpaint any mistakes.. :-)

  • Roughly how much did your layout cost

  • Very difficult question! The wood was in the garage already so the baseboard cost nothing. The buildings are Metcalfe and I didn't buy a lot of extra track. The scenics (ballast, trees etc.) probably all came to about £60. I guess if I had to buy the whole thing new, it would cost somewhere in the region of £250.

  • actually , where to find dapol kit??

  • Just Google 'dapol' and it'll show a link to their site. :-)

  • ty for ur help :]

  • wow thanks i tryed it and made the coal bunker thanks saved me a few quid

  • is that the scotsman i see at 1.37 ?

  • Hi mecrazy5. No, it's Papyrus from a different angle. I can't afford too many engines! :-)

    Cheers

  • Great video as usual, very helpful =) What was the music used?

  • Hi Ray, thanks for the comment.

The track was 'Brimful of Asha':

"Brimful of Asha" is an East-West Fusion pop-rock song by the British band Cornershop, which originally reached number 60 in the UK Singles Chart in 1997. A remix by Fatboy Slim became a hit in 1998 on the US and UK charts, reaching #1 in the UK. The lyrics are a tribute to Asha Bhosle, one of the most famous pop singers/film-score vocalists of India.

(The above was nicked from Wiki so might not be accurate!)

    Cheers

  • lol, didn't expect such a long reply =) Thank you anyhow =D

  • where can you buy balsa?

  • The best places to look for balsa are at model shops who do a lot of R/C aircraft. Google will always find you a supplier on the net if there are none local to you..

    Cheers

  • Hi Tom,

I'm only 11 but could you give me a track plan for you layout, I build Metclafe to but yours are awsome. ( Like the Payparus! )

  • Thanks for the nice words HM. I'm late with your reply as well, sorry!

My trackplan is a simple oval with a siding into a bay platform. I've now added other sidings but that's not likely to stay like that for long. (I get bored and change things..)

    Cheers

  • what gauge is ur railway. i have to use N gauge. can i buy card buildings to put on the railway?

  • Sorry for the late reply, I've only just seen your comment! My layout is OO but you can buy N gauge card buildings - check out Metcalfe's webpage.

  • great video , when is there gona be a new one of the trains running, keep the work up

  • Hi Liam, thanks for the kind comments. Once Xmas and New Year are out of the way, I'll probably get down to doing another vid.

    Tom

  • Ok thanks, and you are always welcome.

  • ive painted my grandads old dapol shed from the 80s with normal acrilllics and it looks fine just cant find the doors for it lol

  • Hi Joe, You can always make some out of cardboard and use a sharp point to mark out the planks and then paint them. It'll finish off the shed.
