  • Good music but this sounds NOTHING at all like the music native to tuva

  • The Tuvan People's Republic is really only notable in that it had the first non-monarch female head of state in the world. When the Soviets were absorbing a bunch of the little autonomous Soviet states into the main Russian RSFR in the 40s, the Tuvan state came to an end as well.

  • @IPlayWithFire135 Actually Tuva was the only absorption unless you count the Baltics and Bessarabia and suchlike.

  • Are you sure the lyrics in the description were used from 1921-1944? 'Cause this IS the anthem of Tuva within modern-day Russia. It could be like Russia which uses the same anthem from the Soviet period, just with totally different lyrics.

It's possible that these are indeed the lyrics, it's just odd.

  • As like as the most of Russian anthems, this Tuvan one sounded heartbreaking & wonderful. My congrats for another people that has a masterpiece as a national anthem. Greetings from Hungary, to the people of Tuva.

  • sounds like ome Native American Music

  • where's Tuva?

  • @TheDarkLord191 southern russia, border with mongolia

  • @RusNad

    oh. i see.

  • @RusNad

however, i had no idea that Tuva was even its own independent state...

  • @TheDarkLord191 it was never really independent, it was virtually controlled by the soviet union until it became an actual part of the soviet union

  • @RusNad

    oh. i see.

strangely, the anthem sounds very Asian. If Tuva is part of Russia, shouldn't the anthem be more Slavic-sounding?

  • @TheDarkLord191 Tuvans are closely related to Mongols. Having a Slavic-sounding anthem wouldn't make much sense.

  • @Mrdie

Tuvans are closely related to Mongols?

  • @TheDarkLord191 Yes, genetically and such. In fact during the early years of the Tuvan People's Republic there were attempts by some Tuvans to reunite with Mongolia, and Mongolia also wanted to have Tuva be a part of Mongolia.

  • @Mrdie

    are their languages very similar?

  • @TheDarkLord191 They're similar.

  • @Mrdie

So does the mean that a Mongolian and a Tuvan could communicate easily?

  • @TheDarkLord191 Probably not, but they most likely wouldn't appear totally alien to each other.

  • @Mrdie

    oh . i see.

  • Nice anthem! Sounds like a good socialist anthem, especially the melody! :)
