you said funny thing. What population has anything to do with age discrimination? If we had 50% less population on the globe, people would still practice age discrimination. it is very unfair and stupid practice. What if I can do better job than 23 year old man? By the way, my father is almost 80 years of age and works everyday for busy restaurant. Additionally, he does better job than many young people. 401K is not enough for retirement.(maybe for you).

Excellent Points, your totally right! The goal of filling a position is to hire the most qualified person for the available pay. And if a 50 year old with 25 years of job related experience is willing to work for the same money as a 30 year old with 5 years experience then thats not over qualified thats the most qualified person.

Older workers have the talent as well as young workers. At my job and I am at the age of 49 and only 2 years away from turning 50, the hospital loves my work. Age discrimination is against the law and you can get in big trouble for it.
