knowing that guy lafleur wore that jersey and scored a goal in my lifetime makes me feel like i lived through just an inkling of that history and thats enough for me...
Guy Lafleur got me into the Habs in 1978 when they played the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs like Reggie Jackson got me into the Yankees in Game 6 of the 1977 WS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
@ConcertKing1 ...of course! thanks for jogging my memory! "the otrher guy" who wore #33 for the Habs; poor bastard, little did he know in the early 80's how much HE was going to be overshadowed!
When I was a kid I was insane about Guy LaFleur. To this day he remains my favorite player ever! I'll never forget game 7 against Boston in 1979 when Guy tied the game late in the 3rd!
Carby and Guy almost looked like father and son with that first shot of them together! What a thrill it would have been to play with one of the natural born skaters out there, just like Carbonueu did! Thanks for the 99' cup Guy C!
@GREGMCKEE Lafleur was also my idol and he will play one more time with former Habs,Quebec Nordiques and some N.Y Rangers for an old timer game in Montreal in december..... I heard that on ckac web radio ,Montreal (french of course)
Why 2010??? The nordiques are removed from NHL at 1980's or 90's!!
