@zamardii12 Sounds like you would be for overturning Roe v Wade which would allow people to decide for themselves, in their own state, how to regulate child murder? Roe v wade currently intrudes into people's lives and forces them to make child murder legal, just as the Confederacy forced all the confederate states to make slavery legal.
So your saying because people believe it is wrong to kill an unborn human being, they are acting like the Taliban? The last time I checked, the Taliban killed those who disagreed with them.
I'm saying that by forcing their beliefs onto my personal and private life, they are intolerant like the Taliban. That's only the first step; killing those that they disagree with is when they assume full control.
Nah, I'm a nice guy, I just believe that it's up to our own selves to save us. No. Hitler believed he was a part of the "master race" and thought he was the fittest. According to what happened, he was proved wrong. I wouldn't want to be responsible to decide who's the fittest, that's for nature to decide. The choice is nature's, and nature's alone. Not Jesus or Allah or Buddha, but whatever circumstances place a competitor above its rival. It's simple, really.

Overturn Roe v. Wade AND make birth control harder to get? Oh sure, let us all have millions of more babies that will live through a tough struggle of knowing their parents didn't really want them in the first place and possibly go through the rough foster system. Where is the love and support for the kids after birth that the pro-lifers were so bent on giving? *sigh*

Obama isn't any better.., but better than that Mccain stup.
I will remember this year so fondly for the rest of my life. I have taken so much pleasure watching the right wing pundits squirm over the last few weeks. Lou Dobbs, Glen Beck, Dick Morris, and Sean Hannity are just losing their flippin' wigs as these polls roll in. "Could it be?! NO! For the love of God NO! America wants to elect a NEGRO!!"
Hahaha, you know just how bad Bush has F@#ked up when people in Iowa and Wisconsin will vote for a man named Barack Obama just seven years after 9/11.
Where the hell do you get your information from, sweetie? See what the news reveals about your "Messiah", grow a brain, learn how to type, then come talk to me.
I find it hilarious that the same party that disdains abortion encourages war, which is just abortion in the 73rd trimester. Great logic guys. Bomb people all over the world so they will drink Coca-cola and park their cars on their lawns like civilized folk. All of this so we can afford to drive our SUV's to Wal-Marx and buy cheap plastic crap from china?? I'll pick hemp bracelets and socialism over that any-day.
In other words, people should not be held accountable for their actions and should demand other tax payers to pay even more taxes for their poor decisions and lack of responsibility! We should pay even more taxes to create even more govt programs to give more money to people who continue to demonstrate the inability to be accountable for their actions. Hell, when the govt begin driving me to work since I don't want to drive anymore? or just give me free money because I don't want to work?
Babies? Oh, you mean you masterbate everynight. Got it. Sperm that hasnt fertalized an egg, developed sensory organs, a brain, internal organs, the ability to dream, to hear, to breath amniotic fluid. You equate the two? Kinda like apples and oranges.
44 million babies murdered since roe vs wade. Right to chose? What about taking responsibility for ones own actions? Do a little research and enlighten your selves to the fact that many babies each year survive after attempted murder outside the womb and die from neglect or lethal injection. How can any one justify these actions? It is true that many animals have the ability to halt or terminate pregnancy do to extreme circumstances, but its time women take responsibilty for their own actions.
Exactly! The thing McCain is saying is that we should not have to subsidize the cost for this with our tax dollars, which in itself is a reason to be against it! Women should take more responsibility, since the man has no right to prevent an abortion legally, even if you are the husband, and know it's your child she is killing! She is only required to "inform" him. So go out and screw around girls, you can get the evidence sucked right out! Noone will be to the wiser! Yahoo! WOMAN POWER!
I used to be the biggest Liberal on the plant. Used to travel with the dead and have hitch-hiked all over the states in 4 years of living on the road. Used to shoot heroin and smoke crack for years. Then I got sober and started to open my eyes as to how I had gotten so low. I was a victim, it was the mans fault, it was societies fault, it was the cops fault, it was everybody fault but mine. I never took responsility for anything I did. Bullshit. Now I am a father and I'll be damned if i'm a vic.
Same here my friend, so we have much in common. Now I own 2 businesses, and got my shit together. I know how easy it is to blame others for their problems, and not take responsibility.
Hitting bottom sometimes is the only way to look up, especially when there is nowhere else to look!
The bottom line is, it's a womans body to do with what she wants. No one should have to push a baby out if they don't want to. You don't even know her, who are you to say she needs to have this kid. And when she does, you people who forced her to have a baby then want to spend your tax money on a stupid war instead of making sure that child has good public education and the woman has ways in which supporting her family.
Anti-choice people are forgetting that a person cannot own another person
Cecile Richards is not thinking of what is best for women....or babies.
Obama made his vows to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that abortion would be the first priority of his administration. Unrestricted Abortion Over Wishes of Individual States a Priority for Presidency. This is a death sentence for babies now protected by the "Born Alive Infants Act".
chojiwilliams is EXACTLY RIGHT. Watch "IN 52 SECS WHY BARACK OBAMA WON'T WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION". Hopefully it makes you sleep better at night knowing every other country is doing the exact opposite, leaving the USA way behind in defense.
Ya, I guess it would be a lot safer to disarm our missile defense systems, cut the military budget, and hope everybody likes America. That would be much safer for our children.
None of my children will enlist, and I'm sure many other people exist with the same belief. It's incorrect to say that having an abortion is killing our troops. You may call my decision selfish or pointless, but your assumption is still incorrect.
Those of you who are so swift to condemn a woman who chooses to have an abortion and those of us who support that right should spend time working with low-income, abused women, female habitual drug users, and teenage women in dangerous and difficult home situations. You might come to have a better understanding of why pro-choice activists are so passionate about what they do.
Watch the coat hanger project's video. While McCain was in Vietname, Gerri Santoro and 499,999 other American women were being slaughtered yearly by our anti-choice laws.
This issue SHOULD NOT BE UP TO THE STATES under any circumstances. It should be up to the woman and her Ob/GYN only.
Support the Equal Rights Amendment!!! OBAMA 2008!!!
Amen. No shrivelled, angry walking corpse named McCain, nor any other dry politicians, will decide what is best for my body. This business belongs between a woman and her doctor.
Let women's health issues take place in the doctor's office, let the war issues be dealt with in Bush's Whitehouse.
Hey C4C, the truth is that McCain also doesn't want our taxes and insurance costs going up to fund abortions, as it should not be.
These people have the mentality of a door-knob, where everyone gets a turn. They turn it around and try to make it a moral issue in this case where it is a subsidized organization getting money from us to help them stay in business. Committing mass MURDER is the last thing Liberals care about, when having to raise a kid is much harder...God Forbid!
Are you saying you're opposed to subsidizing immoral organizations on moral grounds? I could easily make a few links between outrageous taxes and insurance costs, the knob-turning circle jerk within the Bush administration, our subsidized oil industry, and the mass murder we've instilled and perpetuated in Iraq. Want me to? Huh huh?
McCain turned down the idea of Insurance paying for perscription abortions, because why should MY taxes and insurance cost go up to help fund abortions? It is that simple! I love how it is taken out of context, Typical smear Propaganda! As far as the rest of the questions, they all are vague, and general, non-specific, and at most accusitive, and not fact based. Even the people are not sure how to answer with some radical MORON running up and stuffing a mic down their throat! Pathetic!
only if pro life means sending your kids in harms way ,wake up the truth is if you vote McCain you better get ready for ww3 cause that is exactly what you are going to get.
I noticed they didn't get into how obama voted against the born alive infants protection act. In order to save roe v wade...obama would have infants that lived through a partial birth abortion killed. thats a tad more important than these other issues they discussed. ANYONE can buy the pill...go to the doctor and get an RX for it. many aren't even expensive...hell get the depo shot.
You have to be one of the stupidest people i have ever encountered. Democrats want to kill terrorists as much as anyone. In Afghanistan, where they were in the first place. Not in Iraq where they werent. Abortion is not killing, if they baby isnt born yet, it isnt a person, therefore cannot be killed. Before that it is still part of the mother, and therefore the SUPREME COURT gives the states the power to let her choose.
Then WHY in Ohio when a women "with child" is killed in an auto accident it is considered double vechicular {sp} homicide. And our Dem Governor Strictland signed and agreed with it.
If we follow your logic no double vechicular homicide would apply. Sorry too many states are moving to this type law. It's just a fact. Oh and if you notice you called me a name and I just stated the facts. Typical liberal smear tactics against someone with whom you disagree with.
First off I called you a name because it is the truth. Second, it is double vehicular manslaughter because the woman wanted to keep the baby(or she would have had an abortion already). It would have been a person one day. Obviously you dont consider all the ramifications of what the accident does. So next time you try to spit off facts you need to realize what they mean.
You need to define your terms. Your pro-abortion, pro-late term abortion, pro-funding of family planning (birth control for underage girls) is "moderate," what is "liberal" or "leftist?" I mean, a Liberal's idea of a "moderate Republican" or "moderate Conservative" is one who gives in to everything a Liberal wants.
And by the way, it's the Liberals who are trying to destroy the Constitution. The problem is, like accusations of racism, etc., Liberals blame all of that on Conservatives who actually have nothing to do with it. Meanwhile, Liberals like Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, and Clinton are readying their plans to limit free speech and give government control over media content via the "Fairness Doctrine." Please pay attention to the real news.
"if you didn't catch the sarcasm, I know, too much for you"
--Yes, I saw the sarcasm, quite funny. I could also speak sarcastically and say Obama is a Muslim. But you and your friends would jump up and down about that and call me a racist.
But I was speaking the truth, which is what we need here. McCain is a Moderate, not "another Bush."
What does any of that have to do with a woman's right to choose? If you don't like abortions don't have one. Don't put your religion on other Americans.
dude, seriously? why should he invest time and money, in a horrible program that addresses helping teenage mothers, but not teenage fathers? what programs are there for teen dads? ok, so why do we have so many fatherless children? and why should, with health care expenses so high, insurance companies fun birth control medication, when there are so many better alternatives(condoms create a physical barrier, preventing sti transmission) seriously, get mad about kids being raised without a good dad
It looks like you have no problem attacking others with lies but you dont like it when you feel someone has attact you .......hmmmmm yep you are a Republican.
And I agree with cmr5286: more than 90% of the population doesn't have a single clue about anything. It's them who will sink this country with their bad, misguided choices if someone like FailBama can woo them with his words.
i wish i could argue that but its pretty much true
the people are just content with being lazy and ignorant these days, and its just terrible mccain will probably get elected and fuck the country up even worse all because stupid people base their votes on which letter is in the parentheses next to the candidates name
Oh, okay, so then you'd rather have a commie-loving, lying, inexperienced, racist mofo who doesn't even know the first thing about running a strong country?
how does mccain have more experience than obama? did you even know that mccain wanted to be an admiral his whole life until he started hanging out with senators and decided he wanted to be a playboy like them?
this experience you speak of is from lying, being racist, and taking money from lobbyists, which obama has done none of and youre just misinformed
lol all the ammo people got on Obama is his middle name, his pastor, and him not wearing a flag pin.... How about paying attention to their policies and not middle names color of skin.
This is the problem with democracy... everybody votes
Ququ, first of all, I'm assuming you mean Obama, not Osama. I know the name rhymes and that easily confuses you typical, ignorant, nascar-watching, confederate flag waiving, un-educated, ill-informed, redneck conservatives. Secondly, he plans to make health care affordable for all, not just some. Finally, it's spelled "doctor" not "docter". Have a nice day.
To thevoiceofreason124: Libs tend to equate "affordable for all" as FREEEEEE. No, sweetheart, it's not. It just means that I will have to support your sorry ass. Welcome to CommieCountry, huh??!!? If Obama is elected it is the sorriest day for liberty, democracy and American pride conceivable. He represents everything our founding fathers ran from to settle this beautiful country.
McCain has overwhelmingly voted with Bush since 2000. People who claim that McCain is not conservative enough must mean that Bush is not conservative enough. Which, in a sense, is true: (1) Bush is not fiscally responsible at all, as evidenced by his creating a massive federal debt that future generations will have to pay for; (2) Bush is not in favor of small government as evidenced by his creating the Dept. of Homeland Security, the largest intrusive federal bureaucracy in U.S. history; ...
I will add... (3) Bush does not support the fundamentals of the Constitution as evidenced by his consolidating power into the exec. branch; (4) Bush does not protect the 'sovereignty of the individual' b/c he consistently undermines the "total separation of church and state" enshrined in James Madison's U.S. Bill of Rights, & the "wall of separation" championed by Thomas Jefferson in the 1st Amendment. The conservative counter-argument here that Barack has a funny name—that logic is precious.
...gordonlemming... U R Right! U get it! So: what is our choice? Vote a know-nothing communist-oriented America-hating wet-behind-the-ears libby or vote a semi-conservative McCain. Woe is us. But the decision is clear.
Lukkkee, you appear to have missed my point. Bush has made a mockery of the Republican party, and McCain has consistently supported him in doing so. Bush has installed unqualified, reckless cronies throughout government whose only qualifications are that they have gone to unaccredited fundamentalist schools. Obama is much more likely to balance the budget (like Bill Clinton had done) than McCain. In fact, McCain's campaign went bankrupt twice, right? Also, ponzipuppet made good points.
I agree with McCain. Roe v. Wade should be overturned. It should be up to the individual states and the people who live there to decide. I also oppose funding of family planning. It's not the sort of thing my tax dollars should be paying for, but I lean Libertarian, so I think there is very little our tax dollars should pay for.
Actually part of the function of the federal government outlined in the constitution is to deal with matters of interstate commerce. The interstate highway system and its maintenance is a valid use of our tax dollars. The same goes for state and local roads and their respective governments. Private roads are another matter altogether and those ARE maintained by the people. Besides, most towns do a crappy job maintaining roads because our tax money goes to other nonessential things.
Can you explain the logic of funding a war on borrowed money and supporting tax cuts at the same time? Do you think stimulus cheques are a 'conservative' idea? Who do you propose will pay back the 3 trillion dollar debt? Are you getting value for you money? Please explain.
Does separation of church and government means something to you. You BELIEVE abortions is wrong - that is OK, all women that think that way can avoid having abortion. Nobody makes them do it. But forbidding abortion will just make it illegal, more expensive and risky. Those who want their babies removed will find a way.
That's a ridiculous argument. Hypothetically, what if I believed it was okay to kill YOU? Forbidding killing you will just make it illegal, more expensive and risky. Those who want to kill you will find a way. So why not make killing you LEGAL? Makes sense, right?
Let me put it that way - imagine I'm nobody - alone, no friends, no relatives,... nobody. And I'm threating your life, your future. What will you do? what will an average person do? I don't know a single woman who has taken the decision to remove her unborn child as a light one, still sometimes people make it. Should 10 minutes of stupidity or an accident be payed for the rest of your life?
And don't forget its just cells at that age, not a child yet. It does not have a heart or a brain.
Again, your scenario is based on the highly unlikely "worst-case scenario" that is only true less than 1% of the time. The rules should not be based on the exceptions.
It may not be a "child" yet, just like it's not an "adult" yet either, but it's still a human.
Honestly, None of that is the childs fault though. The "deformaties" statement in there just kills me. I just looked up stats and only 3% of abortions stem from health concerns for the mother and Ironicaly 1.6% come from health concerns for the baby. That still accounts for less than 5 percent of all abortions. Even if you factor in rape as a reason to get an abortion, all your factors still account for less than 1 in 5 of all abortions in the US today.
Oh yeah, and whats the mortality rate for having a baby vs having an abortion? thats what I thought, In 0.01% of cases that may be true, be it a pre existing helth condition or whatever, but otherwise thats the dumbest agruement I've ever heard.
You know whats fucked up? When people talk about Obama or Clinton, it goes on and on and on about nothing. But the minute somene talks about McCain/Bush you get comments like the ones below me. She,just like every amreican, ais pointing out sorry ass Mckkkains faults.
I love the hypocrisy of John McCain calling himself pro life, yet supporting war and the death penalty. It's like when he says he supports the " sanctity of marriage " despite having divorcing his crippled wife to marry one of the women with whom he was having an affair.
I can't wait until the public figures out what a morally bankrupt character the media's favorite son is. He's just your average, Mark Foley, Tom Delay, Larry Craig, George Bush Republican.
Many have suffered loss of their babies, and some had babies born with deformations. The number of deaths among children, have risen after "special weaponry" was used in two massive bombing campaigns in Fallujah.
The Pentagon admitted that white phosphorous, a restricted incendiary weapon, and Depleted uranium munitions, which contain low-level radioactive waste, were used heavily in Fallujah. The Pentagon admits to having used 1,200 tons of DU in Iraq.
so i am assuming you do not support U.S. because just like your claim of the organisation, the U.S. was started by killing native americans and blacks.
Right, and the U.S. colonies were started by the English, who have killed and oppressed more people throughout their history than the U.S. and World Wars combined. Only, they'd much rather talk about the U.S.
I think its up to the parents and common sense to control your sexual urges and protect your self.its not up to the goverment to do it for us,I hear this shit and then i hear other people saying its not any of the goverments buisness to say who needs sex education. So a question for you how much control do you want the goverment to have?
I am Catholic, so I think abortion is a sin, but I don't think it should be illegal. Fertility treatments and birth control are both immoral, but I think both should be legal. Not everyone believes they are immoral, why should my religion control their lives?
Why is planned parenthood an oxymoron? Many couples use birth control, then stop when they want to get pregnant. People may get pregnant faster than expected, but they were still planning to be pregnant.
it IS a women's health issues when it is illegal and women are forced to the back alley abortions and end up scarred or dead. Not all pregnancies begin with two consenting adults.
Great point but on the other hand alot of women use abortions as a cop out.I have heard of women who will have as much as 4-5 abortions in a year. What can we do for people who just plain abuse this whole abortion process. There is ADOPTION.
I challenge you to find a woman who has had 4-5 abortions in a year. Fact is, no one WANTS to have an abortion. I am personally AGAINST abortion, but even the most hard core anti-abortion activist should stand back and think about this. do you want our Government, THIS government to be in charge of your Uterus? I wouldn't trust them with my cat, much less my reproduction system. Adoption is GREAT, unfortunately the people who fight for FETUS lives don't adopt them after their born.
It's not about "killing babies".. It's about how much control the government is allowed to exert over what a woman can and can't do. If abortion was illegal, some women would still seek out abortions. It would just be a lot more dangerous and undercover, like the old days.
It is possible to be pro-choice and against abortion. It's not as black and white as the fundies like to make it. I would never abort MY baby, but I would also NEVER want the government to say I have no choice in the matter.
How can people oppose a woman's right to privacy and control over her own body and also oppose assistance and education to prevent unwanted pregnancy? You guessed it. Because these people don't want "LIFE." They want control. (Proof: most die-hard pro-lifers have no problem with dropping bombs on actual children).
Your telling me that women don't relize that having sex carries a risk of pregnancy? I mean i see your point for education, but the only sex ed that works... well, thats mostly just scare tactics. Women KNOW the risk of having sex before they do it, whether some dude in a plan parenthood suit gave them a sex ed talk before hand or not.
Things might get wrong even if the couple is having safe sex. The chance is small, but it exists. Are you trying to tell me that both parents should be FORCED AGAINST THEIR WILL to have that child? They might decide to become parents... but they should have the right to decide not to as far as the medicine allows it.
@weaseldragon - Bomb bomb bomb iran ... (there are children there, right)
Are you trying to tell me that every time a man and woman have sex it is consensual? Ever heard of rape? incest? Not all females know the risk of sex and sometimes we have no choice.
Yeah, well McCain is also anti-birth control which prevents abortion, strange, you'd think he'd be in favour of anything that cause the rate of abortion to fall
The question is would Bush and cronies get this far if Americans took the time to read about the atrocities currently going on and the waving of constitutional rights? McCain lends air time for abstinence and he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade while he turns the other way and screams for more war and death to others? Freakin' hypocrite!
That you think education and prevention is just handing out condoms is pretty sad. I'm sorry you can't see another perspective on this issue.
I wish people who were as passionate about preventing abortion as you are would be just as passionate as ending the war and eliminating poverty and hunger.
Actually, I am not pro-death. I'm pro-choice. I don't believe in the death penalty and I'm against the Iraq war. The problem I see is that these anti-choice groups aren't doing anything to help prevent these unwanted pregnancies. My point is that this is about personal control over your own body. Nobody has the right to make decisions about your body except you, no matter how I may disagree with that decision.
If the issue were about men and their bodies, there's no way they'd be allowing government interference. Please listen to what I'm saying. This is about sexism, period. It's about keeping women down.
But you do realize that women's issues is not just the issue of abortion. It's health care and access to birth control and education and family planning. McCain scoring a 0 on women's issues isn't just about abortion. If you cared about women, you'd care about women being forced to raise their children in poverty because that's their only choice.
I realize that women's issues is not just about abortion. I also realize that it is a major portion of it. I care about women, all women, being treated with equal respect.
99.9% of the time, women are not "forced" to do anything. There are exceptions, of course, but that is a rarity and should be dealt with on a one-on-one basis.
Anti-abortion is anti-woman. You might not see it that way, but that's exactly the mindset of these politicians. They want them to stay poor and powerless.
@stgianna You = Uneducated and uninformed person who needs to keep your nose out of other peoples' lives and worry about yourself.

MyFing2cents 3 years ago
Are you saying you're opposed to subsidizing immoral organizations on moral grounds? I could easily make a few links between outrageous taxes and insurance costs, the knob-turning circle jerk within the Bush administration, our subsidized oil industry, and the mass murder we've instilled and perpetuated in Iraq. Want me to? Huh huh?

McCain turned down the idea of Insurance paying for perscription abortions, because why should MY taxes and insurance cost go up to help fund abortions? It is that simple! Before that it is still part of the mother, and therefore the SUPREME COURT gives the states the power to let her choose.
wtf10000 3 years ago
Then WHY in Ohio when a women "with child" is killed in an auto accident it is considered double vechicular {sp} homicide. And our Dem Governor Strictland signed and agreed with it.
If we follow your logic no double vechicular homicide would apply. Sorry too many states are moving to this type law. It's just a fact. Oh and if you notice you called me a name and I just stated the facts. Typical liberal smear tactics against someone with whom you disagree with.
MJD1701A 3 years ago
First off I called you a name because it is the truth. Second, it is double vehicular manslaughter because the woman wanted to keep the baby(or she would have had an abortion already).
That isn't a "moderate." That's a "liberal."

Lukkkee 3 years ago
McCain has overwhelmingly voted with Bush since 2000. People who claim that McCain is not conservative enough must mean that Bush is not conservative enough. Which, in a sense, is true: (1) Bush is not fiscally responsible at all, as evidenced by his creating a massive federal debt that future generations will have to pay for; (2) Bush is not in favor of small government as evidenced by his creating the Dept. of Homeland Security, the largest intrusive federal bureaucracy in U.S. history; ...
gordonlemming 3 years ago 3
I will add... (3) Bush does not support the fundamentals of the Constitution as evidenced by his consolidating power into the exec. branch; (4) Bush does not protect the 'sovereignty of the individual' b/c he consistently undermines the "total separation of church and state" enshrined in James Madison's U.S. Bill of Rights, & the "wall of separation" championed by Thomas Jefferson in the 1st Amendment. The conservative counter-argument here that Barack has a funny name—that logic is precious.

Lukkkee, you appear to have missed my point. Bush has made a mockery of the Republican party, and McCain has consistently supported him in doing so. Obama is much more likely to balance the budget (like Bill Clinton had done) than McCain. In fact, McCain's campaign went bankrupt twice, right? Also, ponzipuppet made good points.

Does separation of church and government means something to you. You BELIEVE abortions is wrong - that is OK, all women that think that way can avoid having abortion. Nobody makes them do it. But forbidding abortion will just make it illegal, more expensive and risky. Those who want their babies removed will find a way.
Sorry for my English.
valeribogdanov 3 years ago 2
That's a ridiculous argument. Hypothetically, what if I believed it was okay to kill YOU? Forbidding killing you will just make it illegal, more expensive and risky. Those who want to kill you will find a way. So why not make killing you LEGAL? Makes sense, right?
Pathetic logic.
GuardianOfTheFaith 3 years ago
Let me put it that way - imagine I'm nobody - alone, no friends, no relatives,... nobody. And I'm threating your life, your future. What will you do? what will an average person do? I don't know a single woman who has taken the decision to remove her unborn child as a light one, still sometimes people make it. Should 10 minutes of stupidity or an accident be payed for the rest of your life?
And don't forget its just cells at that age, not a child yet. It does not have a heart or a brain.
valeribogdanov 3 years ago
Again, your scenario is based on the highly unlikely "worst-case scenario" that is only true less than 1% of the time. The rules should not be based on the exceptions.
It may not be a "child" yet, just like it's not an "adult" yet either, but it's still a human.
GuardianOfTheFaith 3 years ago
Honestly, None of that is the childs fault though. The "deformaties" statement in there just kills me. I just looked up stats and only 3% of abortions stem from health concerns for the mother and Ironicaly 1.6% come from health concerns for the baby. That still accounts for less than 5 percent of all abortions. Even if you factor in rape as a reason to get an abortion, all your factors still account for less than 1 in 5 of all abortions in the US today.

People may get pregnant faster than expected, but they were still planning to be pregnant.

tesamorasa 3 years ago
I challenge you to find a woman who has had 4-5 abortions in a year. Fact is, no one WANTS to have an abortion. I am personally AGAINST abortion, but even the most hard core anti-abortion activist should stand back and think about this. do you want our Government, THIS government to be in charge of your Uterus? I wouldn't trust them with my cat, much less my reproduction system. Adoption is GREAT, unfortunately the people who fight for FETUS lives don't adopt them after their born.
razberryberet 3 years ago 10
It's not about "killing babies".. It's about how much control the government is allowed to exert over what a woman can and can't do. If abortion was illegal, some women would still seek out abortions. It would just be a lot more dangerous and undercover, like the old days.
It is possible to be pro-choice and against abortion. It's not as black and white as the fundies like to make it. I would never abort MY baby, but I would also NEVER want the government to say I have no choice in the matter.

Actually, I am not pro-death. I'm pro-choice. I don't believe in the death penalty and I'm against the Iraq war. The problem I see is that these anti-choice groups aren't doing anything to help prevent these unwanted pregnancies. My point is that this is about personal control over your own body. Nobody has the right to make decisions about your body except you, no matter how I may disagree with that decision.
electricspacegirl 3 years ago 4
If the issue were about men and their bodies, there's no way they'd be allowing government interference. Please listen to what I'm saying. This is about sexism, period. It's about keeping women down.

But you do realize that women's issues is not just the issue of abortion. It's health care and access to birth control and education and family planning.

Cool. This video makes me want to vote for McCain. I guess he's not as liberal as I thought. Unfortunately he still supports stem cell research.

Why do you dislike women so much?

Anti-abortion is anti-woman. You might not see it that way, but that's exactly the mindset of these politicians. They want them to stay poor and powerless.

This has been here on Youtube for 11 months and there is only one comment (before mine)?!
Wow.
McCain is another dangerous man regarding women's rights. Not someone I want as CiC.
