  • is this any different than doing wide grip ring pull ups? doesn't look that way.

  • @jloo222 Main difference is that it's much harder to grip towel than a ring.

  • Nice stuff man! i need to get a long towel like that!

  • Yeah I did those for some months and now my right middle finger has been hurting for about a month. Really wouldn't recommend them I have pain writing this.

  • i was watching this again and got to wondering how thick or big the towels i use should be?

  • @MuDvAyNw The thicker the towel, the harder it is on your grip. So start off with something that's relatively easy to grip and go from there.

  • this guy could grip my face off

  • form is perfect

  • @JasJSR Thanks dude, appreciate the feedback.

  • nice one!

  • Cool! Remember folks.. for all us mortals.. you can build up to these by getting your heels on the ground and pulling up using the towel around either a vertical post or a (obviously low) horizontal bar. I'm gonna check out towel pull ups very soon, that's 4 sure.

  • @GameOf2Halves Hi bro :), you know that dwayne johnson ( aka THE ROCK ) used to do towel pull ups to improve his risk muscles...i'll do like him ( wanna be ) :D anyway i have a question if you please :) should the towel be wet ? or half wet ? so it dont get cut or anything...answer me fast pls and thanks x)

  • @Hamodyxxx0 I'm British; who's Dwayne Johnson? Anyway, doesn't need to be wet but roll it up well to make it as strong as poss. & be cautious until u know it can take all your weight. This type may have another plus compared gripping a solid pullup bar; the towel pullup allows your wrists to rotate as you pull up. This allows your shoulders, elbows, and wrists to find the most efficient range of motion for the exercise, so it could be better 4 your joints.Good luck!

  • @Hamodyxxx0 And of course you can use two towels (as shown beautifully in this vid) or one towel, which obviously means a closer grip (no doubt working the muscle groups differently; I reckon it's harder if hands are further apart). AND.. the further your hands are from the bar/branch the harder it's gonna be (another way of varying things).

  • Are towel chin-ups harder than normal bar chin-ups?

  • @MisterCloudyDays Yes, they are harder.

  • im 13 and 200lbs of solid muscle and im 6'4" and i can do about 55-65 reps of those depending on the day! :P

  • @13andincrediblycut Fuck off & die.

  • @GameOf2Halves Right back at you, my lost friend!

  • @13andincrediblycut Shutup you lying little fag

  • Good form

Can anyone explain why using the towels makes the exercise harder ?Harder to grip ?

  • @Grange34 Yes, it's mainly to do with the grip.

  • Not sure. I can do 5 chin-ups with a 30 kilogram (66 pound) weight hanging off me. So I'm guessing I could get around 15 repetitions with just my bodyweight. But in all honesty I haven't tried recently.

  • how many normal pull ups can you do :D

  • Nice form!

  • Very impressive, those are so painful.

  • bro, would you recommend using a wet towel, just in case the towel rips lols????

  • Dude you should stow your board in a better place.

  • I know... not ideal is it. I've got a bag for it now.

  • @cfinn1973 And you should stand it on its end so it doesn't lose its flex.

  • @tregy Thanks dude, didn't know that.

  • that's good form man. did some earlier and all feels fine until the sixth ish rep, then it gets hard to hold on!

  • I know... that's why I only did 5!

  • Picture perfect.

  • Very clean bro.

  • nice
