There isn't necessarily a hidden story. It is just an inside thing with ALL of Call of Duty's developers since the start. They just put it in to see if people would pay attention to the game. Almost like a test, to see how much detail they should put into, lets say, TreyArch or InfinityWard's next game. Because if people don't pay attention, why bother detailing a game for months?
